Abstract: A valve for an inflatable device includes a pocket configured to be located in a cavity of the inflatable device. The pocket includes an entrance opening to receive air from an air output. The pocket further includes a first layer of material having at least a first aperture, wherein the first aperture is positioned entirely within the first layer of material, a second layer of material having at least a second aperture in fluid communication with the first aperture, wherein the second aperture is positioned entirely within the second layer of material. The first aperture and the second aperture are in fluid communication with the entrance opening and the cavity such that airflow passes through the valve by flowing from the entrance opening into the pocket, and out of the pocket and into the cavity through at least one of the first aperture or the second aperture.

Abstract: A bed rail having an operating position at one of the sides of a bed and a stored position between a mattress and box spring of the bed. To take down the bed rail, a guard frame portion is disengaged from a base frame portion, then the guard frame portion is pivoted and slid into the base frame portion. To set up the bed rail, the guard frame portion can be slid out of the base frame portion, pivoted relative to the base frame portion, then engaged to the base frame portion and into the operating position at a side of the bed.

The pocket spring core has a plurality of springs, a number of which lie in a row one behind the other in respective flexible pockets, forming a bank of springs, and a number of adjacent banks of spring, which together form a supporting surface, are interconnected. The springs of at least one region of the supporting surface have different springing characteristics from the springs of the neighboring regions. At least one part of the individual banks of springs consists of bank portions with differing spring characteristics, the pocketed springs of each bank portion are identical, at least some of the neighboring portions of adjacent banks of springs are of different lengths and the neighboring portions of adjacent banks of springs are interconnected.

In some embodiments, a base for a surgical table includes a base body to which other components of a surgical table can be coupled. A surgical table, and optionally a patient supportable by the surgical table, and any equipment to be carried by the surgical table, collectively representing a table load to be carried by the base body to support the surgical table on a surface. The base further includes a support assembly coupled to the base body to support the base body on the surface. The support assembly includes at least four support members. Each support member has a surface-engaging end and can transmit a portion of a total load represented by the weight of the base and the table load through the surface-engaging end to the surface. The surface-engaging ends of any three of the four support members define a plane.

Abstract: A bed linen comprises a single, continuous piece of fabric extending substantially completely across lateral dimensions of the bed linen and including elastomeric fibers and non-elastomeric fibers. The single, continuous piece of fabric is configured to stretch to at least 125 percent of an initial length thereof without damage thereto and to substantially return to the initial length thereof after being stretched. A bedding assembly and a method of forming a bedding assembly are also described.

A leisure bed has a piece of canvas, two side rods and at least two canvas tensioning mechanisms. The canvas tensioning mechanism can easily tension and mount the canvas by a small force, and is convenient to tension the canvas and high in tightness.

Abstract: Disclosed is a mattress assembly having a spring or foam core structure and reduced-sized parts. Spaced along the mattress top and bottom border are a plurality of bands having through-openings. Border wire segments extend through the through-openings and are joined end-to-end by releasable connectors to form a continuous border wire providing edge support. Butterfly springs having tube-like bands for receiving the border wire segments prevent sagging. In spring mattresses, the bands, which may be rings or a similar type part, are carried at the top and bottom of the outer springs. In foam mattresses, the bands are formed by a plurality of loops formed in a continuous folded strip fixed by adhesive or other means to the mattress border walls. Two such mattresses may be joined together by interweaving a flexible cord through the bands of adjoining mattresses. The mattress assembly is completed by encasing in an outer cover.

Abstract: Travel pillow apparatus, storage apparatus for the travel pillow apparatus, and methods of manufacture and use. In one embodiment, the travel pillow apparatus, includes an external covering, the external covering including upper and lower support structures; an air bladder apparatus that includes an expandable open-cell foam within an interior of the air bladder apparatus. The air bladder apparatus is further shorter in length than the external covering, such that the air bladder apparatus is not intended to be positioned towards the back of a neck of a user that is utilizing the travel pillow apparatus. A storage apparatus with a one-way expulsion valve for storage of, for example, the aforementioned travel pillow apparatus. Methods of manufacturing and using the aforementioned apparatus are also disclosed.
