Abstract: An autonomous airspace separation system monitors flight separation for compliance with a separation standard. A reference formation airspace is established based on minimum longitudinal, lateral and vertical parameters. When penetration of the reference formation airspace is detected, a penetration airspace is established based on a deformation of the reference formation airspace caused by the penetrating aircraft. A centroid of the penetration airspace is determine and a target separation to the centroid is supplied to the aircraft to reestablish safe separation.

  • Patent number: 11605274
Abstract: Techniques are provided for contacting emergency response services when certain conditions are met. In some instances, it may be determined, by a wearable device, whether a user has responded to a first user interface prompt displayed in response to detection of a physical event associated with the user. In accordance with a determination that the user has not responded to the first user interface prompt after expiration of a first time period, certain actions may be performed. For example, a countdown timer may begin to run for a second timer period. During the second period, an audio alert and a haptic alert may be output by the wearable device. In accordance with a determination that the user has not responded to a second user interface prompt prior to expiration of the second time period, a communication channel request may be transmitted to an emergency response service by the wearable device.

  • Patent number: 11538330
Abstract: The Emergency Automatic Gunshot Lockdown (EAGL) System detects gunshots and executes at least one predetermined adaptive response action, such as notifying law enforcement of an active shooter, providing access control measures such as locking down soft target areas, and alerting building occupants of an active shooter situation. A gunshot is detected and verified using a triple validation system. Once a firearm is discharged, the EAGL system sends “real time” data to building officials, law enforcement, and building occupants notifying them of an active shooter situation. Simultaneously, predetermined commands are sent to access control devices for perimeter, office, classroom, and other soft target areas to lockdown and stay secure, to keep the shooter from entering these soft target areas, and to prevent shooter from entering other buildings.

  • Patent number: 11521502
Abstract: In a particular embodiment, parallel deconfliction processing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is disclosed that includes a UAV control system partitioning the airspace over a geographic region into a plurality of airspace regions. In this example embodiment, the UAV control system includes a plurality of deconfliction controllers. For each deconfliction controller in the plurality of deconfliction controllers, the UAV control system assigns to the deconfliction controller, one or more airspace regions of the plurality of airspace regions. The UAV control system also inputs, in parallel, flight path data for a plurality of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to the plurality of deconfliction controllers. This embodiment also includes processing, in parallel by the plurality of deconfliction controllers, the flight path data to identify a flight conflict between two or more UAVs. Each deconfliction controller outputs a deconfliction result for each airspace region.

  • Patent number: 11508246
Abstract: An autonomous airspace system for urban air mobility monitors flight separation for compliance with a safe separation distance. A reference formation airspace is established for a reference air taxi based on minimum longitudinal, lateral and vertical parameters. When penetration of the reference formation airspace is detected, a penetration airspace is established based on a deformation of the reference formation airspace caused by the penetrating air taxis. A centroid of the penetration airspace is determined and a target separation to the centroid is supplied to the air taxi to reestablish safe separation. The extent of separation is also safely contained by the presence of virtual air taxis whose positions on the periphery of the penetrated airspace serve to limit potential penetration of surrounding air taxi air spaces.
