  • Patent number: 10583511
Abstract: An end product and system for connecting large aluminum tubular pipe segments into an Isolated Phase Bus comprising reducing the diameter (or increasing the same) of one end of a tubular segment and sliding it into (or over) the untreated end of an adjacent pipe or tubular segment, followed by a tubular and circumferential welding of the same. The outside or inside circumference of the connected segments are uniform from distal to proximal end of the overall length of the connected tubular segments. A structural integral, axially aligned, simplified set of connectable tubular segments allows for a grounded connection between power generators and step transformers. Preferably, the overall diameter change of the necked down flange (or outwardly flared flange) of one tubular segment is less than or only slightly greater than twice the material wall thickness of the tubular segment's initial pre-rolled flat aluminum sheet material.

  • Patent number: 10578234
Abstract: A coupling for joining pipe elements end to end has a unitary band surrounding a central space for receiving the pipe elements. Ends of the band are in facing relation. Adjustable connection members are positioned at each end of the band for drawing the ends toward each other and deforming the band. Arcuate ribs are positioned lengthwise along opposite sides of the band. The ribs are separated from one another by gaps between the ribs. In their undeformed state, each rib has an arcuate surface with a radius of curvature equal to the radius of curvature of the outer surface of the pipe elements which they engage. When the band is deformed the ribs clamp against the outer surface of the pipe elements to effect the joint.

  • Patent number: 10578237
Abstract: A temperature-controlled fluid processing system with accessory attachment mechanism includes an accessory annular ring feature a mounting surface and a tapered surface sloping toward a central axis of the ring feature and away from the mounting surface, and engaging components on the primary device, including concentric annular member and rotation plate. The annular member includes spaced apart through holes housing spring biased pins. The rotation plate surrounds the annular member, and includes one or more ramped inner surface(s). The plate is rotatable between an unattached position wherein the ramped surfaces apply no radial inward force to the spring-biased pins, and an attached position wherein each ramped surface displaces a pin inward through its corresponding through hole such that the conical tip of the spring-biased pin engages the tapered surface of the ring feature, thereby immobilizing the accessory with respect to a head unit of the fluid processing device.

  • Patent number: 10513887
Abstract: A method and apparatus for drilling wells for producing petroleum products from an earth formation that is covered by shallow water having a depth of about 600? or less, using a self-elevating drilling unit (SEDU) to drill one or more wells having wellheads located at or near the seabed. Well drilling is accomplished through a blowout preventer stack and a drilling spool string having a wellhead connector secured at its lower end and establishing releasable connection with the subsea wellhead. As a plurality of wells are being drilled, production of petroleum products can begin from wells that have already been completed, thus initiating an income stream from petroleum production starting only a few months from initiation of well drilling activity. When a well has been drilled, completed and rendered safe, the drilling spool string and wellhead connector is removed to the SEDU, leaving the wellhead positioned at the seabed in readiness for later production.
