  • Patent number: 7227665
Abstract: After an image compressed by a compressing portion is stored in a page memory, it is decoded by a decoding portion. A sub-scanning enlargement portion carries out sub-scanning direction enlargement processing upon the image decoded by the decoding portion and a printer prints out the enlarged image. At this time, the printer generates a printer synchronous signal each time when it scans an image formation object surface. A control portion provides the page memory, the decoding portion and the magnification changing portion with control signals so as to synchronize reading out of the image from the page memory, the decoding of the decoding portion and enlargement processing of the sub-scanning enlargement portion.

  • Patent number: 7227661
Abstract: An added information encoding part repeatedly arranges two kinds of copy inhibition code arrays of the unit two-dimensional arrays to which copy inhibition codes are assigned, and condition code arrays of the unit two-dimensional arrays to which codes for removing the copy inhibition are assigned, into a two-dimensional array according to given rules. A background image formation part generates a background image in which copy inhibition pattern image areas and condition pattern image areas are repeatedly and two-dimensionally arranged according to given rules, while referring to this array, and the pattern images corresponding to respective codes stored in the background image formation part, and stores the generated background image into a background image buffer. An image composing part reads out document images from a document image buffer, and the background image from the background image buffer, and superimposes them into a composite image.

  • Patent number: 7227663
Abstract: A manner of specifying a document to be printed to multiple output mechanisms, including multiple printers and multiple output bins of each printer. Print specification data is received for an electronic document that is desired to be printed. The print specification data specifies two or more output mechanisms. An output mechanism is any potential entity that may be identified to receive one or more printed copies of electronic documents. Non-limiting, illustrative examples of output mechanisms includes the output bin of a single bin printer, a particular output bin of a multiple bin printer, or the output bin of a fax machine. Each of the two or more output mechanisms receives at least one printed copy of the electronic document. Thereafter, the print specification data is processed to initiate printing of the electronic document to the two or more output mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 7227653
Abstract: A system CPU sets a storage area in a page memory when a copying operation has been started. Where a clear/stop key, etc. is depressed to suspend the copying operation, the system CPU checks whether there is data in the page memory. If there is data in the page memory, the system CPU displays a selection screen on a message display section for selection as to whether the data in the page memory should be retained or released. Where “HOLD” is determined, the system CPU performs re-scanning and stores data in the page memory at the time the setting has been changed and the copying operation has been resumed. On the other hand, where “RELEASE” is determined, the system CPU releases the data in the page memory and performs re-scanning and stores data in the page memory at the time the setting has been changed and the copying operation has been resumed. Finally, the printing of the data in the page memory is resumed by a printer.

  • Patent number: 7221473
Abstract: The flexible printing system is comprised of a printer that has printing characteristics that can be updated. A printer cartridge comprises printer data memory that either stores new printing characteristics or stores a location from the Internet from which these characteristics can be downloaded. The printer accesses the cartridge's printer data memory and checks the stored printing characteristics. If the printer can use these characteristics and they differ from the characteristics that are presently being used by the printer, the printer updates its printing characteristics using the printer data memory's printing characteristics. In one embodiment, the printer characteristics are color tables and dithering algorithms.

  • Patent number: 7209173
Abstract: Operation for global electronic shutter photodiode-type pixels. In a first mode of operation, lag is reduced through global reset of the photodiode array and fixed pattern noise is eliminated through comparison of the photosignal level and the reset level of the floating drain. In a second mode of operation, simultaneous integration and readout processes are achieved through cessation of spill charges over the transfer gate. In a third mode of operation, regulation of the reset photodiode and transfer gate enables voltage gain between the photodiode and the sense node.

  • Patent number: 7206555
Abstract: The invention relates to an antenna diversity comprising a first and a second antenna element where the first antenna element is operated in an active mode whereas the second antenna element is operated in a parasitic mode. The present invention minimizes the amount of mismatch while still being able to maximize a predetermined signal quality criterion for the electromagnetic signal on the active path between the first antenna element and the transceiver. By providing a pre-selection unit 130 as well as a selection unit 140 for selecting an optimal adjustable impedance connected to the second antenna ensuring that the amount of said mismatch is below a predetermined threshold value and that simultaneously a predetermined quality criterion for the transceived electromagnetic signal is fulfilled best within the range determined by the allowable mismatch. The invention further relates to a method for operating such an antenna diversity.

  • Patent number: 7196722
Abstract: Multiple streams of data are streamed to a user's terminal with images from different cameras. Low resolution thumbnail images tell the user what image streams are available. A focus stream provides high resolution images from a selected camera. A user can switch the focus stream to another stream by clicking on the associated thumbnail. The users can also be provided with a thumbnail of panoramic image. Other data streams sent to the user can contain (a) audio data, (b) interactivity markup data which describes regions of the image which provide interactivity opportunities such as hotspots, (c) presentation markup data which defines how data is presented on the user's screen, (d) a telemetry data stream which can be used for various statistical data. One data stream contains a low quality base image for each data stream which can be enhanced to form a high resolution focus image.

  • Patent number: 7194242
Abstract: Disclosed is a direct conversion type transmitter or transceiver circuit suitable for a mobile communication device which corresponds to broad signal output level variable width to be required by W-CDMA, which does not necessitate any high-performance low noise VCO and RF filter, capable of reducing a number of components and the cost. In the input portion of an orthogonal modulator composed of a divider, mixers, and a common load, there are provided variable attenuators. If an input signal level of the orthogonal modulator within the transmitter circuit lowers, this variable attenuator circuit is operated so as to lower the bias of the orthogonal modulator to reduce the amount of occurrence of carrier leak, and to prevent the signal during low output level and carrier leak ratio from being deteriorated.
