The distraction stimulus is configured to distract a user from a discomfort caused by the light therapy.
Abstract: The invention relates to an irradiation device and a corresponding method for irradiating a radiation absorbing medium, as well as a hearing aid device and a laser surgery device comprising such an irradiation device. A radiation source is configured to generate one or more pulses of electromagnetic radiation and to irradiate the medium with the one or more pulses of electromagnetic radiation. A control unit is configured to control the radiation source such that the time course of the power or intensity of at least one pulse of the one or more pulses of electromagnetic radiation exhibits a rising slope and/or a falling slope, wherein the rising slope and/or falling slope has a maximum gradient which is smaller than a predetermined gradient value, whereby a generation of optoacoustic waves in the medium in response to the rising slope or falling slope, respectively, is avoided or significantly reduced.

Abstract: A system and method for conducting a sleep test includes initiating a sleep test script, and providing the script to a patient. Abstract: A method and system for assessing balance and posture of a subject by employing virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) headgear is provided. The system includes memory, a processor, and the VR/AR headgear, providing an immersive environment. The VR/AR headgear includes a display for providing a plurality of visual stimuli. A gyroscope and an inertial measurement unit detect head movements and body sway of the subject in response to the plurality of visual stimuli. An eye tracking unit tracks eye movement of the subject in response to the plurality of visual stimuli. A base plate with sensors can measure center of gravity of the subject in response to movements of the base plate. A machine learning model then deciphers patterns based on measurement data from the gyroscope, inertial measurement unit, eye tracking unit, and base plate. A comprehensive report pertaining to the subject's posture and balance is then generated.
Abstract: A pet care device may include a removable or swappable care tool mounted on a head. The head may include a sterilizer and a sensor to determine what kind of care tool is mounted. A controller may identify the type of care tool mounted on the head based on a sensing value of the sensor and control the sterilizer based on the identified care tool.

The region division method for laser treatment according to the present invention divides an area of an object to be treated by laser irradiation into a plurality of treatment regions and includes constructing a three-dimensional image of the object; using the three-dimensional image to obtain a normal vector for each of a plurality of points located on a surface of the object; dividing the points on the surface of the object into one or more groups based on a similarity between the obtained normal vectors; and generating a closed curve including at least some of points grouped into the same group to set a treatment region.
