Abstract: A position location system based on a wireless local area network such as an IEEE 802.11 network is described. The system determines position of mobile tags attached to assets or people. IEEE 802.11 enabled zone tags are installed to assist in positioning. The system aligns frame timing of zone tags to that of an associated basic service set (BSS). The system computes the frame timing offsets between adjacent BSSs, and utilizes the frame timing offsets in scheduling range measurements between zone tags and mobile tags. A set of zone tags which are in close proximity of a first zone tag and able to receive signals from the first zone tag is identified. Frame timing of all zone tags in a network are aligned.

Abstract: Measurement reports are received from a plurality of user equipment (UE) in communication with a first base station on a network. The measurement reports include data characterizing physical cell identifiers (PCIDs) of neighboring base stations and signal strengths associated with the neighboring base stations. Relative positions of the plurality of UEs are determined based on the received measurement reports. The plurality of UEs are associated into one or more groups comprising UEs having similar relative positions. A UE is selected from each of the one or more groups for transmission of a request to resolve at least some of the neighboring base station cell global identities (CGIs). At least one of the receiving, determining, associating, and selecting are performed by at least one data processor forming part of at least one computing system. Related apparatus, systems, techniques, and articles are also described.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling Multipath Transmission Control Protocol, MPTCP, signaling in a communications network. The communications network includes a first node hosting an MPTCP proxy function, and a second node in a second access network. The second node receives from a mobile terminal an attachment request. The second node then sends a message to a remote database and receives a response, the response including an identity of the first node. An MPTCP data path can then be redirected from the second access network to the MPTCP proxy function. Even in cases where the MPTCP proxy function is located at or between the PDN Gateway and the mobile terminal, the second access can be made aware of the location of the MPTCP proxy function and route MPTCP data traffic accordingly.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for changing a packet tag status value from a first value to a different value upon said packet arriving at a buffer if there already is a packet in the buffer queue having the same first status value. A sequence of tag status values (112) in packets received at an end node is used to determine the queue length of the buffer in the packet network. An end node can thereafter adapt its sending rate to the rate of the buffer.

Abstract: A system is described that improves network function virtualization. The system facilitates an access point, such as a customer premises equipment, to utilize functionality of another access point when providing communication service to a device at a customer premises. The other access point may be a customer premises equipment at a neighboring premises. The access point may utilize the neighboring access point in case the access point is in a power saving state. Alternatively or in addition, the access point may use the other neighboring access point based on bandwidth availability, processing capability, memory capacity, or other attributes, or a combination thereof of the neighboring access point. In yet another example, the access point may utilize the neighboring access point in case of a failure in connection between the access point and a network provider.

Abstract: A wireless communication terminal capable of increasing the utilization efficiency of ACK/NACK resources and suppressing unnecessary PUSCH band reduction while avoiding ACK/NACK collision. The wireless communication terminal has a configuration provided with: a reception unit for receiving a control signal including ARI via an E-PDCCH set from among one or a plurality of E-PDCCH sets; a control unit for determining an offset value indicated by the ARI on the basis of whether or not a resource region that may be taken by a dynamic ACK/NACK resource corresponding to the E-PDCCH set that has received the control signal and a resource region that may be taken by a dynamic ACK/NACK resource corresponding to another E-PDCCH set overlap, and imparting an offset to the ACK/NACK resource according to the value of the ARI; and a transmission unit for transmitting the ACK/NACK signal using the determined ACK/NACK resource.
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for generating segment routing (SR) segment lists. In one embodiment, a node receives information that identifies a path from a first node to a second node. Based on the received path, a set of segment identifiers that encodes the path is generated. A packet that is forwarded along the set of segment identifiers travels the received path.

Abstract: According to several disclosed techniques, a wireless network provides assistance information to a mobile terminal for cell selection at re-establishment of a connection after a radio link failure. An example method is implemented in a mobile terminal served in a first cell of a wireless network, and includes receiving (510) a configuration message from the network, the configuration message identifying at least one carrier frequency. Upon subsequently losing connection with the first cell without receiving a handover command, the mobile terminal initiates (520) a cell search using the identified at least one carrier frequency, based on the configuration message.
