  • Patent number: 7431298
Abstract: The roulette game is based upon a wheel having multiple series of consecutive numbers thereon. Each number is distinguished by a color, with a different quantity of colors repeating to provide a unique color and number combination for each position on the wheel. The colors may be selected to represent the colors of a national flag, e.g., red, white, and blue for the U.S., red, white, and green for Mexico, etc. House profit is provided by the retention of a percentage of winning wagers, rather than by payment of lower than actual odds or by designating one or more wheel positions as winning positions for the house. This system facilitates a progressive wagering system wherein retention of the house profit is waived for players who choose to place progressive wagers on consecutive plays of the wheel.

  • Patent number: 7419160
Abstract: A method of conducting a Baccarat game incorporating one or more side wagers is disclosed. The side wagers are dependent upon the number of cards dealt during the Baccarat hand and may be incorporated into all types of Baccarat games including Mini and Midi games. Accordingly, players may place wagers on whether 4, 5 or 6 cards will be dealt during the Baccarat hand. In one version, a payout of 3 to 2 is paid on winning wagers dependent on 4 cards being dealt and a payout of 2 to 1 is paid on winning wagers dependent upon 5 and 6 cards being dealt. Importantly, the side wagers do not impact the play of the conventional Baccarat game. While ideal for a live game, the side wagers are also suitable for electronic gaming devices, online and mobile versions.

  • Patent number: 7419424
Abstract: A method and apparatus for playing a multi-hand card game. The game allows the simultaneous play of multiple card hands. The multiple card hands are created from a first card hand—typically including the draw and random selection of additional cards in an attempt to improve the first card hand. All additional card hands are a variant of this first card hand (or each immediately preceding card hand). Specifically, each subsequent card hand is generated as a function of the rank of the immediately preceding card hand (or the first card hand). The generation of the subsequent card hands may be based on each card held in the first card hand. Alternately, the generation of cards for each subsequent card hand may be restrictively applied only to the hold cards from the first card hand with sufficient additional cards randomly selected to complete each of the subsequent card hands.

  • Patent number: 7413509
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating play of a poker game utilizing dealer qualification criteria that impact the manner in which the game proceeds. The player(s) and dealer ante, and starting hands are dealt to the player(s) and dealer. The player may fold and lose the ante, or place a bet. The dealer's starting hand must meet qualifying criteria, such as a particular poker rank. If it does not, the dealer does not qualify, and the player(s) win the dealer's ante amount. If the dealer's starting hand qualifies, the dealer calls the players' bets, and deals a community hand. Using their respective starting hands and the community hand, each of the players and the dealer arrives at a resulting hand. If a player's resulting hand beats the dealer's based on poker rank, that player wins. Multiple betting options and/or multiple dealer qualification criteria may be implemented to enhance gaming entertainment.

  • Patent number: 7404763
Abstract: A deck of modified playing cards enhances traditional wagering card games. In a first example, traditional card ranks are replaced with letters. For example, each Ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace of one or more suits in a deck of playing cards is replaced with the letters “V”, “E”, “G”, “A”, and “S”, respectively. In another example, all Jacks are replaced with the numeral “11” to facilitate a 7/11 bonus game. In another example, all Kings are replaced with the number “13” and all Sevens are replaced with the letter “L” and word “Lucky.” In yet another example, pre-established cards are replaced with logos such that the logo card in a final card hand acts as bonus card or may act as a wild card. In such an arrangement, casino logos can be used to promote the casino and its amenities. In one version, awards include comps to businesses represented by the logo.

  • Patent number: 7401784
Abstract: Players place bets. A 36 card deck with the tens, Jacks, Queens, and Kings removed from a standard 52 card deck is dealt into eight piles of four cards each in front of a house dealer. A player/dealer chooses an action pile from the eight. A roll of three dice establishes who receives the action pile. The last four cards and any cards at vacant player positions are discarded. Players each create a front hand of two cards and a back hand of two cards of higher value than the pair of cards in the front hand. The player/dealer turns over his/her cards to the face side for both front and back hands. Each player in turn, beginning with the action hand, compares front and back hands with those of the player/dealer. Betting chips are paid or taken by the dealer/player depending on the comparative value of the player hands to the dealer hands.
