  • Patent number: 9264675
Abstract: A system for a multiplexing scheme for wideband signals in a communications system is provided. A codeblock of a multiplexed datastream is decoded. The codeblock includes a flag indicating whether the codeblock contains a timeplan, signifying a multiplexing structure of the datastream. A determination is made whether the flag indicates the presence of the timeplan, and, if so, the timeplan is acquired. In response to a determination that the codeblock does not contain the timeplan, a subsequent codeblock is determined, and decoded. Each codeblock includes an indicator of a sequence position of the codeblock within a group of codeblocks of the datastream. The subsequent codeblock is determined based on one or more of a decode rate of the processor device and the sequence position indicator. A determination is made whether the flag of the subsequent codeblock indicates the presence of the timeplan, and, if so, the timeplan is acquired.

  • Patent number: 9231888
Abstract: A system and method can rout traffic between distinct subnets in a network environment. A router that connects the distinct subnets, such as InfiniBand (IB) subnets, can receive a list of destinations that the router is responsible for routing one or more packets to. Then, the router can generate a random number based on a source local identifier (LID) and a destination LID associated with the one or more packets, and use a modulo based hash to select one router port from a plurality of output router ports of the router.

  • Patent number: 9226292
Abstract: One embodiment includes: forwarding a particular packet through an Available Routing Construct (ARC) chain topology network. In one embodiment, this forwarding includes: sending the particular packet by each particular non-edge node on an arc of the plurality of arcs receiving the particular packet to each sibling on the arc that did not send the particular packet to said particular non-edge node, while not sending the particular packet if it was received from both siblings of said particular edge node; and sending the particular packet to a respective child node on a second arc of the plurality of arcs by each particular edge node of two edge nodes on the arc after receiving the particular packet. In one embodiment, the network is a wireless deterministic network with pre-assigned time slots for receiving and subsequently sending a same particular packet by each node of the network.

  • Patent number: 9219644
Abstract: A configuration tool is used to configure new server racks and computing assets in a data center. When new server racks are placed in a data center, the configuration tool scans the racks to identify any unconfigured server racks and then determines their virtual locations. The tool queries a mapping between the physical and virtual rack locations in the data center to determine the physical location for each rack based on its virtual location. Using the acquired physical and virtual locations for each unconfigured rack, the configuration tool can configure the unconfigured racks. For example, the configuration tool may identify the assets contained in the rack and associate the rack's physical location with those assets. In addition, the configuration tool can determine the rack's VLAN and use that information to configure the TOR switch associated with the rack.

  • Patent number: 9210453
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media can provide for measuring the quality of experience levels and locating the sources of problems for service types in a network. This can be facilitated by sending one or more scout packets through the network, identifying those scout packets at the various network elements on a path within the network between a source and a destination, and compiling scout information identified by each of the various network elements to determine potential service degradation within the network.

  • Patent number: 9160564
Abstract: A hybrid STP can be implemented in a hybrid communication network to prevent communication loops without disabling network interfaces of hybrid devices and redundant paths of the hybrid communication network, while preserving the advantages of the hybrid communication network. Each network interface of a hybrid device can be designated as a relay interface or a non-relay interface. Each of the relay interfaces is independent of the other network interfaces of the hybrid device. The non-relay interfaces operate as a single virtual interface and do not forward packets between each other. Each network interface of the hybrid device may also be associated with a forwarding bit that indicates whether broadcast packets should be forwarded via the network interface. The hybrid device can determine whether/how to forward a packet depending on whether an ingress interface is a relay or non-relay interface and a forwarding bit value of the ingress interface.

  • Patent number: 9100332
Abstract: A data transmitting device divides application data into packets, transmits the packets, and continuously carries out packet transmission while receiving acknowledgement from a receiving device of the transmitted packets. The application data to be transmitted is stored in a data storage area of a data storage unit. The data is read from the data storage area, a sequence number is set, and the data is transmitted as the packet. If the read data is within a predetermined length from an end of the application data, a copy of the read data is saved in a temporary buffer area of the data storage unit. When data of a sequence number before that of first data of next application data is to be transmitted after transmission of the next application data is started, the data is read from the temporary buffer area of the data storage unit.

  • Patent number: 9094197
Abstract: An energy efficient Ethernet physical layer (PHY) device including an EEE control module configured to generate a control signal to transition the PHY device into a low power consumption mode based an operating condition, and a pause frame generator module responsive to the control signals to generate a pause frame. The pause frame generator module is configured to send the pause frame to a media access control (MAC) device to reduce an incoming flow of data packets from the MAC device to the PHY device for a pause time duration. In operation, the pause frame generator module generates the pause frame including a pause time indicating the length of time for the PHY device to be in the low power consumption mode. The value of the pause time for each pause frame is determined adaptively based on the type of data traffic to be transmitted from the PHY device.

  • Patent number: 9036637
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for transmitting a message in a Hierarchical Layer 2 Virtual Private Network (H-L2VPN). A destination MAC address, to which a message is to be forwarded upon receiving the message, is determined by a first peer node of the network. The first peer node determines whether one or more equivalent pseudo wires (PWs) connected thereto form a path to the destination MAC address. When it is determined that more than one equivalent PW forms a path to the destination MAC address, an arbitrary equivalent PW is selected from the more than one equivalent PW by the first peer node. The first peer node sends the message, via the selected equivalent PW, to a second peer node of the network connected to the selected equivalent PW for forwarding to the destination MAC address.
