Abstract: A truck bed insert for pickup trucks including a wheeled receptacle for tools or other objects mounted to roll along tracks in a rigid sheet bedliner. The receptacle is movable between a forwardmost stowed position near the truck cab and a rearwardmost position near the tailgate for easy access. A handle is provided to facilitate movement and to releasably lock the receptacle in the forwardmost position. Sliding bolts are also provided to lock the receptacle against movement. A bedliner extension is hinged to the bedliner and covers the tailgate when down to permit the receptacle to be moved onto the tailgate. The handle is releasably retained in a groove in the bedliner when the receptacle is in the forwardmost position.

Abstract: A foldaway tool box for a truck bed is provided and consists of a lid and front wall hinged between side walls and rear wall of the truck bed that folds down completely for full use of the truck bed which eliminates the need for removing the tool box. In a modification the tool box is adjustable in size for holding various amounts of tools therein.

Abstract: A unitary liner for truck beds including a flange for positioning the side wall of the liner relative to the side wall of the truck such that the bottom of the liner side wall and adjacent portions of the bottom side walls are displaced from the bed bottom wall. The bottom wall of the liner includes raised ribbed portion displaced from the side and front walls to create peripheral drains and the bottom wall is inclined relative to the side, front and bottom walls of the liner at the corners of the side and front walls to prevent water and other foreign material from collecting at the corners. A mounting device is provided which is secured to the side rail of the bed through a slot provided in the side wall of the liner to permit horizontal and vertically downward movement of the liner and prevent vertically upward movement of the liner.

Abstract: A mounting device for mounting a molding covering the edges of a window glass on a vehicle body. The device comprises a molding holding member, a mounting member to be mounted on the vehicle body and flexible large and small arms for integrally coupling the molding member and the mounting member to each other.

Abstract: A pick-up truck having a box-like utility storage enclosure formed by two hingedly connected rectangular panels and portions of the pick-up truck has channel-forming assemblies on opposite sides of the bed for slidably retaining a first panel. Another embodiment provides a recess in the truck floor for storage of the folded panels while a third embodiment provides a third panel which is vertical and of a mesh-like substance which permits light and air to enter the enclosure when the tailgate is in a horizontal position.

Abstract: A truck bed liner securement fixture is provided. The fixture includes a lock member having a bevelled lower part which contacts a downturned inner portion of the truck bed side wall to secure the liner to the bed. An actuator pin allows the lock member to be rotated into a locked position after installation.

Abstract: A device comprising a movable panel, designed to support a stabilizer by means of at least one rib; an opening in the car bodywork, the edge of which opening presents substantially the same shape as the stabilizer contour and the aforementioned panel contour; and actuating means designed to move the aforementioned panel from a first position, wherein the upper surface of the stabilizer is substantially flush with the edge of the opening which is thus closed off by the aforementioned stabilizer, into a second position wherein the panel is arranged substantially flush with the edge of the opening which is thus closed off by the aforementioned panel.

Abstract: An elongated lightweight truck-type of van is provided including longitudinally continuous top, opposite side and floor structures enclosing a single van interior. The van interior includes a forward operator's seat, passenger seat structure spaced rearward of the operator's seat and upstanding partition structure disposed immediately rearwardly of the passenger seat structure and extending fully between the top, opposite side and floor structures. The passenger seat structure comprises a bench-type seat defining a storage area therebeneath and the lower marginal edge of the partition structure includes an opening formed therein registered with the storage area. A rearwardly opening housing structure extends through the partition structure opening and into and substantially fully occupies the storage area beneath the passenger seat structure, the partition functioning to substantially isolate the interior portions of the van on either side of the partition structure against the free flow of air therebetween.

Abstract: An applique structure for the external B pillar areas of a four door vehicle is provided. The vehicle structure is one wherein the pair of doors on each side are hingedly mounted at the forward edges and wherein the B pillar areas are defined by the upper door edges. The appliques are adhered to the B pillar area and form a double seal at the juncture therebetween. Additional seals are provided around the periphery of the appliques.

Abstract: An arrangement for the connection of track links of endless crawler track vehicles with articulated tracks and coupling chains, in which novel link pins, pursuant to their utilization in the articulated tracks or coupling chains, are provided with slide bearings or rubber bushings and connectors. The pins consist of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic material with highly stressable carbon fibers arranged in a matrix consisting of epoxy resin, polyamide or the like.

Abstract: There is disclosed herein an assembly for detachably securing a windshield cover to windshields of motor vehicles such as passenger cars or tractors, which comprises a plurality of magnetic units including magnetic pieces supported on supporting members, each supporting member having a fixed width and length, and connecting members for pivotally interconnecting the magnetic units, each connecting member having a width equal to or less than the width of each supporting member and a length twice or less longer than the width of each supporting member.

Abstract: A mobile home includes two hingedly connected habitable parts each comprising a room-like enclosure mounted on a rectangular perimeter frame. Two braced posts are provided on adjacent end corners of each frame with corresponding posts of the two frames side by side when the parts of the mobile home are aligned end to end. Hinges connect adjacent first posts of the two frames and releasable catches connect the other posts of the two frames thereby allowing the habitable parts to maintain an end to end relationship for towing and alternative side by side relationship for living quarters. Door openings in the habitable parts allow person communication between the habitable areas within the enclosures when the parts are side by side. Wheels are provided on one perimeter frame along with a towing device on an end of the other perimeter frame opposite to that having the posts.

Abstract: A collapsible tent-camper apparatus adapted for use with and to provide a covered extension to a rear-opening van-type vehicle. The apparatus includes a fabric covering, a foldable bed platform, and a foldable and collapsible frame for supporting the fabric covering and bed platform. The apparatus further includes a compartment within the vehicle for storing the covering, platform and frame when folded and collapsed, in addition to structure which enables these components to be slideably moved into or out of the storage compartment.

Abstract: A sun visor for use in an automobile wherein a perforated sheet which is either a sheet having all over its surface a large number of fine through holes through which it is possible to see or cloth of coarse texture with the marginal portion of the sheet being supported by a supporting frame which has an edging frame. The perforated sheet is provided around its periphery with engagement holes, the supporting frame is split into upper and lower sections wherein one of the split sections of the supporting frame has pegs and the other apertures, the pegs being fit to the apertures through the engagement holes.

Abstract: Deflector apparatus for directing a flow of air downwards along the rear window of a car comprises a curved, elongated deflector plate (5) that is positioned substantially parallel to the rear window with the upper edge of the deflector plate being just above the roof-line (2) of the car and being mounted on the car by means of at least one mounting member. In order to avoid having the mounting members interfere with opening of the rear door (1) of the car and to eliminate the need for drilling of holes in the metal parts of the car, the mounting member (6) is fastened to the glass of the rear window itself, preferably by gluing, so that, without touching the painted metal parts of the car, the deflector plate, will extend above the metal parts of the car and above the rear window (4).

Abstract: A tractor cabin having struts, a top framework, an air conditioner mounted on the top framework, and a ceiling assembly covering an entire ceiling area of the cabin. In order to optimize air conditioned flows, the ceiling assembly includes outlet vents in a front region thereof for delivering defrosting air flows, outlet vents in lateral sides thereof for delivering air flows for the driver, an inside air intake vent in a rear portion thereof inside the cabin, and an outside air intake vent rearwardly and outwardly of the cabin. The ceiling assembly further includes an overhead console box having an air conditioning control unit and other elements. The console box is disposed such that its lower end is on or above a straight line extending from the driver's eye level to the top edge of a windshield to provide the driver with an unobstructed forward view.

Abstract: There is disclosed a curtain-hanging track adapted to be mounted in a recreational vehicle having a flat, elongate rail fastened to an interior side wall thereof along and adjacent to the bottom of a window and a support member for said track which is fastened to the outer side end of the rail and disposed between it and the inner side wall.

Abstract: There is disclosed curtain hanging tracks made of complementary, extruded members comprising a base portion adapted to be affixed to a wall of a recreational vehicle and a cover portion adapted to be slid onto the base portion and to conceal the fasteners used to mount the base portion on the wall of the recreational vehicle. The cover portion has a longitudinal channel with inturned lips adapted to receive a T-shaped base of a curtain glide. The curtain is affixed to the glides which in turn are slid into the channel so that the curtain can be adjusted.
