  • Patent number: 6076760
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a yarn winding machine, wherein a yarn is wound at a constant speed to a package on a driven winding spindle. A contact roll lies against the surface of the package. To enable an increasing package diameter, the center to center distance between the contact roll and the winding spindle is changed as a function of a variation in the rotational speed of the contact roll. To this end, the variation of the rotational speed of the contact roll is measured in each of a sequential series of predetermined time intervals T and converted into a control signal for changing the position of either the winding spindle or the contact roll.

  • Patent number: 6056227
Abstract: In order to make possible an automatic replacement of full bobbins in a spooling device with continuous thread supply, the supplied thread from the traversing thread guide is lifted and directed to a cutting and suction device. The supplied thread is cut and sucked in. The full bobbin is allowed to roll away from the spooling position on inclined rolling rails. Through the rolling motion of the full bobbin the fall of an empty bobbin into the spooling position is triggered and the supplied thread is attached to the delivered empty bobbin. A device for carrying out this method has a movable thread guide rail, a thread cutting device, a thread suction nozzle, rolling rails for the full bobbin, inclined rails for the empty bobbin and a thread guiding arm which wraps the thread around the empty bobbin.

  • Patent number: 6042044
Abstract: In a method and machine for winding on a continuously fed yarn to form bobbins alternately onto respective tubes on winding spindles on a revolver member, the yarn is guided via a stationary head yarn guide, a traversing device and a contact roller to a first yarn guide to position the yarn at the catch region of the empty tube. A second yarn guide for the yarn end running onto the full bobbin is mounted on a pivotal arm to pivot into the gap between the bobbin and the empty tube. The first yarn guide is arranged on the pivotal arm. The traversing device, the contact roller, the winding spindle and the yarn guides are on one side of the yarn. After pivotal movement of the pivotal arm into the gap the yarn is guided free from the surface of the empty tube and also comes free from the traversing device. During return movement of the pivotal arm the yarn is applied to the catch region of the empty tube with an increase in the wrapping angle.

  • Patent number: 6041990
Abstract: A feeding mechanism for a forging machine includes a roller unit consisting of a pair of feeding rollers. Two rotating shafts are connected respectively and fixedly to the feeding rollers at an end portion, and to outer and inner driven gears at the other end portion. The inner and outer driven gears mesh with each other. A driving gear meshes with the inner driven gear, and rotates reciprocally within a predetermined angular range. The driving gear and the outer driven gear are sector gears. Each of the inner and outer driven gears is mounted on the corresponding rotating shaft by means of a unidirectional bearing so as to convert reciprocal rotation of the driving gear into intermittent unidirectional rotation of each of the rollers. Each of the rollers is provided with a braking member, which includes a circumferentially extending brake plate that presses against an outer periphery of the corresponding roller.

  • Patent number: 6032845
Abstract: In a variable-pitch tape feeder for feeding parts to a pick and place machine used to produce electronic circuit boards, a switch assembly is provided which controls the limits of a shutter movement and the tape advance distance dependent upon the desired pitch. The tape feeder uses a carrier tape to deliver parts to the pick and place machine. The parts are inserted into depressions at regular intervals along the length of the tape. To accommodate tapes of varying pitches, i.e., distances between parts, the feeder uses an electronic control unit to drive the tape feed mechanism and actuate a shutter. The shutter prevents small parts from escaping their respective depressions prematurely. The switch provides a stop surface which limits the rearward travel of the shutter and a flag which is detected by optical sensors to determine the position of the switch and thus the pitch desired by the operator.

  • Patent number: 6024320
Abstract: A winding apparatus for winding a continuously advancing yarn to a package. In this process, the yarn is reciprocated by means of a rotary blade type traversing apparatus along a predetermined traverse stroke. In so doing, the yarn is alternately guided within the traverse stroke along a guiding edge of a main guide plate and along an opposite guiding edge of an auxiliary guide plate. The guiding edge of the main guide plate and the opposite guiding edge of the auxiliary guide plate extend through the traversing plane in opposite directions. The auxiliary guide plate is movable transverse to the traversing plane such that the opposite guiding edge of the auxiliary guide plate extends to a lesser extent or does not extend through the traversing plane.
