Patent number: 11582351Abstract: A method and system for managing financial risk through the use of postpaid processing during use of wireless services is presented within the scope of the following invention. The present invention uses credit card authorization to pre-reserve credit card funds for wireless services in excess of planned usage. Authorizations eliminate the credit risk associated with overages and payment timing, and also maintain a customer experience identical to postpaid processing. The authorizations are invisible to the customer and no charge is brought to a customer's credit card until the monthly bill is settled. Separating the authorization and settlement stages of retail wireless payment processing allows the branded wireless provider to avoid inherent areas of credit risk during the tenure of a customer's wireless service, while maintaining a familiar customer experience.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2015Date of Patent: February 14, 2023Assignee: Netcracker Technology Solutions Inc.Inventors: Thomas Bobich, Carl-Manuel Brachet, Robert Gray, John Hinman

Patent number: 11574234Abstract: A model governance framework uses a shared ledger on the back of a blockchain. The solution tracks various analytic tracking documents (ATDs) and associated assets, like requirements and sprints, through various stages of an ATD lifecycle. Data schema and data distributions are also tracked. The decision models, corresponding variables and execution codes are also tracked. Existing variables and execution codes are made available via a preexisting asset ATD for reuse. Various transactions provide mechanism for accessing and manipulating the various assets through a recorded ledger of events and approvals. A system provides tracking of the approvals and the approvers of all model assets that are touched by any participant, and further provides access control and security for multi-user access. An application layer provides graphical access to the various aspects of the blockchain.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2018Date of Patent: February 7, 2023Assignee: FAIR ISAAC CORPORATIONInventors: Scott Michael Zoldi, Shafi Rahman

Patent number: 11521198Abstract: A computer-implemented method for allowing purchase of virtual gift cards includes receiving a communication indicating a gift card type and specifying a value amount. Responsive to the communication, a purchase of a virtual gift card of that type and storing that value amount is processed. This processing includes processing a payment for the specified value amount. Further, a gift card merchant application programming interface (API) capable of processing a purchase of a virtual gift card of the indicated gift card type is identified from amongst a set of such APIs. That API is used to initiate purchase of the virtual gift card. After the purchase is processed, an indication of the purchased virtual gift card is sent to a mobile computing device. The mobile computing device uses the indication to configure itself to allow transactions using the purchased virtual gift card to be initiated. Fraud detection may also be performed.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2020Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: THE TORONTO-DOMINION BANKInventors: Michael Pronski, Buturab Rizvi
