  • Patent number: 5069604
Abstract: A radial piston rotary device is disclosed having a gear drive mechanism to convert the varying speed of rotating piston shafts into uniform rotational motion of a power shaft. The rotary device has a pair of radial pistons, each having diametrically opposed piston portions and each connected to concentric piston shafts. Each of the pistons is mounted within a housing so as to rotate about the longitudinal axis of the piston shafts. The drive system to convert the motion of the piston shafts to uniform rotational motion includes irregular gear sets operatively connected to each of the piston shafts. Each of the irregular gear sets has gear wheels with gear teeth segments extending over only a portion of their peripheries and also having different pitch diameters. The gear wheels are connected so as to rotate together, along with one of the radial pistons, as a unit. The other radial piston is connected to a separate irregular gear set having an identical construction.

  • Patent number: 5069606
Abstract: Two essentially identical oval shaped blades each attached rotatably by axles within a cylindrically shaped main chamber of a housing. Each blade has a cross-sectional profile approximating opposing larger radius 90 degree arcs connected by opposing smaller radius 90 degree arcs. Each blade is attached to a rotatable carriage assembly within the housing, and 180 degrees apart in the same orbital path about the rotational axis of the carriage assembly. The rotational axis of the carriage assembly, and the orbital path of the blades about the carriage assembly axis are eccentric relative to the center of the main chamber. A transmission and timing arrangement communicates and coordinates rotational movement between the carriage assembly and blades. The blades are positioned with the length of one blade perpendicular to the other blade length while rotating and orbiting about the axis of the rotating carriage assembly.

  • Patent number: 5067884
Abstract: A unitized structure of a main bearing and a cylinder of a rotary compressor is disclosed. The cylinder is formed integrally with and directly in the main bearing. Further, the inner circumferential corner of the cylinder is shaped in a round form, and the corresponding circumferential corner of the roller is shaped also in a round form. According to the present invention, the fastidious adjusting procedure required in assembling the conventional compressor and the drop of the effciency due to the variation of the clearance between the cylinder and the main bearing are all eliminated, thereby improving the productivity and the product quality.

  • Patent number: 5064361
Abstract: A compressed-air vane motor comprises a rotor which is mounted on anti-friction bearings and has, distributed over the periphery, location slots in which vanes are guided in a radially displaceable manner and whose outer sealing edges bear by centrifugal force against the inner surface of the cylindrical outer shell. • Patent number: 5062777
Abstract: A pump has a housing which is used as a foundation and comprises a working space for product-feeding units. The bearing axles of the units are arranged in bearing sleeves and introduced into the pump housing from the rear so that the axles extend, via front recesses in the pump housing, into the working space for interaction with the units. • Patent number: 5061160
Abstract: A fluid motor includes an inner gear member and an outer gear member. The gear members are rotatable and orbital relative to each other and define expandable and contractible fluid pockets. The gear members rotate and orbit relative to each other as the fluid pockets expand and contract. The modulation opening communicates with at least one fluid pocket. A spool valve includes a valve member having at least two positions for controlling the speed of relative movement between the gear members. When the valve member is in a first position, the modulation opening communicates with the low pressure in the second region.

  • Patent number: 5051077
Abstract: The present invention is drawn to a screw compressor having a wide operating range with respect to flow rate and pressure ratio, wherein a discharge opening portion of a casing is provided with a generally tapered notch portion so that compressed gas is gradually discharged from a certain fixed point where a volume ratio of one groove defined by rotors and the casing is smaller than an inherent built-in volume ratio. Since the present invention is arranged in the above-mentioned manner, the flow of the gas at the discharge opening portion is reduced by the notch portion which is readily formed. Thereby the variation range of the pressure (the amplitude of pulsation of the pressure) is decreased and the noise level is lowered. Further, a loss of pressure resulting from the rapid flow of the gas is restricted to thereby widen a range of preferable performance of the compressor.
