Abstract: A scan system is provided. The system includes a server device having at least one scanner driver and a user terminal device which accesses the server device and receives a scanner list, and if a scanner is selected from the scanner list, transfers scanner information about the selected scanner to the server device. The server device may control the scanner to process a scan job, by using a scanner driver corresponding to the scanner information transferred from the user terminal device. Accordingly, the user can use scan service easily by using one scan application, without having to install scan application for each of the scanners at the user terminal device.

Abstract: An image formation apparatus includes: a tray selection unit configured, based on print size information designated in print data, to select one of medium trays; an edit region setup unit configured, when the size of the print medium in the selected medium tray is different from print medium corresponding to the designated print medium size, to analyze the print data based on an orientation of the print medium in the selected medium tray and to set an edit region of the print data; a drawing unit configured, on the basis of the print data and the edit region, to create image data within the edit region; and an image formation unit configured to print the image data on the print medium fed from the selected medium tray.

Abstract: When a print job is being processed in a print queue, a printer utility cannot update various statuses of a printer. To solve such a problem, an information processing method includes inputting, in the job management unit, a status acquisition job requesting to acquire a status of a printing apparatus and to store it in the status storing unit, inquiring the job management unit about the status stored in the status storing unit and acquiring it, acquiring a processing status of the status acquisition job, determining, based on the acquired status and the acquired processing status, whether to request cancelling of the status acquisition job, and requesting the job management unit to cancel the status acquisition job based on the determination result.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a document box, a communication unit, a console unit, a referencing entity management table, and a control unit. The console unit accepts a delete operation of inputting a delete instruction to delete document data stored in the document box. The referencing entity management table allows information about another image forming apparatus referencing document data stored in the document box to be registered therein as referencing entity information. The control unit determines whether or not the document data to be deleted designated by the delete instruction input by the delete operation is referenced by another image forming apparatus, based on the referencing entity management table. The control unit, if the document data to be deleted is referenced by another image forming apparatus, causes the communication unit to transmit the document data to be deleted to the another image forming apparatus based on the referencing entity information.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes a document data storing unit 6 that stores a plurality of document data together with an attribute, an aggregate condition storing unit 7 that stores an aggregate condition defining the aggregate attribute, and an aggregate processing unit 5. The aggregate processing unit 5 configures the document data to be aggregated into a document group from the selected plurality of document data based on the aggregate condition, and executes aggregate printing of the document data in the document group as a single group of continuous print data.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods are provided for simplifying print job submission by a user in a network environment. A print job in a print job stream from a terminal apparatus is detected and intercepted, and it is determined whether the intercepted print job is to be processed in a job-specific selection mode or a silent mode. In the job-specific selection mode, a printer selection user interface is provided on the terminal apparatus to permit the user to select a specific printer amongst the plural printers, and the intercepted print job is then transmitted to the specific printer. In the silent mode, the user-submitted print job is transmitted to a previously-specified direct printer.

Abstract: A script language compatible with HTML is used to define methods or objects capable of communicating directly with an intelligent module for printing operations without going through a web browser's print selection option. A print API library provides the needed methods/objects for embedding into a web page. The intelligent module may be a stand-alone electronic device, or may be an intelligent device incorporated into a printer. The intelligent module may manage multiple printers directly or through a network, and it functions to provide a communication bridge for translating/conveying communication between the print APIs on a web page and a target printer. The print API knows the fixed IP address of the intelligent module, and define a print document or print commands and send it directly to the intelligent module by means of the known IP address.

Abstract: In order to allow any device to use a graphics device interface (GDI) driver without having to modify it once the GDI driver has been developed, the GDI driver is configured to create a spool format in a next-generation print path (NGPP) graphics engine specification and to convert drawing data in the spool format in the NGPP graphics engine specification into a page description language (PDL) by using an NGPP driver.

Abstract: A system adjusts an original image for printing on a location on a medium that will be bossed after printing the adjusted image on the medium. The system comprises an interface for receiving information concerning a bossment to be implemented on the medium after printing the adjusted image on the medium; and an adjustor that makes an adjustment to the received image based on the information received by the interface.
