Abstract: A target outcome fund mimics an option in an underlying risky asset by holding a mix of the risky asset and a low-risk asset. The relative amount of the risky asset and the low risk asset held by the fund is periodically (e.g., monthly) rebalanced based on the fund's performance. If the fund over-performs, the target outcome is increased accordingly to prevent the fund becoming overly invested in the risky asset, thereby protecting gains made.

Abstract: A method for automatically generating change orders may be performed at a point of sale system. The point of sale system may determine an amount of funds in the point of sale system and whether additional funds are necessary. If so, a change order may be automatically requested from a back office system (e.g., a cash recycler) or a financial institution. The back office system may determine whether it is able to fulfill the change order request and if not, forward the request to the financial institution. In one or more arrangements, a notification that a change order request has been received may be transmitted to a manager or other change order personnel. The change order request and funds delivered to the point of sale system in response thereto may be reconciled with the back office system.

Abstract: A receipt store may be provided as a service. Electronic payment receipts generated in any type of transaction may be delivered to the receipt store. A customer may subscribe to a particular receipt store, to be used as a repository for that customer's receipts. The customer may carry a device that is used to communicate payment information (such as a credit card number) to a device reader when purchases are made. The device may also identify the customer's receipt store. A commercial establishment that accepts the customer's payment may generate an electronic receipt, and may deliver it to the receipt store specified by the customer's device. The establishment may also deliver the receipt to the customer's device, and the customer's device may send the receipt along to the receipt store.

Abstract: A method for managing credit card spending, including receiving a managed spending limit for a credit card account set by a user, where the managed spending limit does not exceed a credit limit for the credit card account, and where the managed spending limit is applied to a purchase category to obtain a managed spending plan, receiving an authorization query for a purchase associated with the credit card account, allocating the authorization query based on the purchase category to obtain an allocated purchase, responding to the authorization query based on the allocated purchase and the managed spending plan, and generating a spending report for the credit card account based on the allocated purchase and the managed spending plan.

Abstract: A system for conducting secure on-line transactions includes a user communication device, a third party server, and one or more merchant servers. The user communication device can communicate with one or more preapproved merchants from within a virtualized environment using a custom browser. The custom browser supports only a single connection at any given time and only if the connection is to one of the preapproved merchants. The merchant website includes a custom markup language that can be parsed by the custom browser to render web pages on the user communication device.

Abstract: A trajectory tracking control system according to the invention controls a robot (1) to track a target path (100). In this system, the target path (100) is approximated to an arc, and the curvature of the arc is calculated. At this time, the curvature is calculated in accordance with the moving speed of the robot (1). Then, the control of the robot (1) is set in accordance with the calculated curvature.

An inventory reduction factor for an entity, based at least in part on an estimated ability of hosted merchants to fulfill demand for an item, may be determined. An adjusted target inventory estimate may be calculated using the determined inventory reduction factor and a target inventory quantity. The hosted merchants may be merchants offering the item for sale via a sales channel through which the entity also offers the item. The hosted merchants may in some cases be merchants offering the item for sale via the entity's website.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a code reading apparatus includes a commodity-information reading unit, a commodity-information output unit, a benefit-information reading unit, and a benefit-information output unit. The commodity-information reading unit reads commodity information from a code symbol attached to a commodity. The commodity-information output unit outputs the commodity information read by the commodity-information reading unit. The benefit-information reading unit detects an image of benefit indication from an image imaged by an imaging unit and reads benefit information corresponding to the benefit indication from the detected image. The benefit-information output unit outputs the benefit information read by the benefit-information reading unit.

Abstract: A system and method for efficient image cashletter processing where an image cashletter including a plurality of monetary records is received. Failed monetary records in the image cashletter are separated out from good monetary records in the image cashletter. The good monetary records are processed independently of processing the failed monetary records, therefore, allowing the good monetary records to continue to be processed without having to wait for the failed monetary records to be repaired.

Abstract: Techniques are described that facilitate performing accounting and billing separately for each customer of a service provider account registered to an owner of a shared customer device. An access router performs separate data usage accounting for each of the customers in sub-accounts of the registered service provider account based on customer virtual local area network (CVLAN) and service VLAN (SVLAN) tags included in data packets. A network operator may, therefore, generate a bill for the shared customer device that includes separate data usage charges for each customer. To facilitate the techniques, the access router may determine a CVLAN and SVLAN associated with a customer. The CVLAN and SVLAN tags are included in a service request toward a service provider, and copied into a service request reply toward the shared customer device. The shared customer device then includes the tags in data packets to identify the customer to the access router.

Abstract: The determination of whether an event, such as a taxable event for a commercial transaction, has occurred uses an executable decision tree. The decision tree includes a number of test nodes that each include a comparison field and at least one allowed value. A data value associated with the comparison field is accessed and compared to the allowed values. If the comparison field equals an allowed value, execution proceeds to a child node, and if not, execution proceeds to a sibling node. The child and sibling nodes are either another test node, a result node, or an error node. Execution of the decision tree proceeds until a result node or an error node is reached.

Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring navigation state errors are provided. In this regard, a representative system, among others, includes a receiver that is configured to receive GPS signals and calculate pseudorange (PR) residuals, the receiver including a navigation state error manager that is configured to: calculate a distance traveled by the receiver having the PR residuals, determine whether a navigation state has errors based on the calculated PR residuals and calculated distance, and responsive to determining that the navigation state has errors, send an error message indicating that the navigation state has errors.

Automated campaigns using outbound calling systems can provide a number of significant advantages over the traditional notification campaign, potentially resulting in faster, more efficient, more accurate, and more cost-effective notification campaigns.

Abstract: A method for exploring similar items can include receiving a request to explore items similar to an item identified by a user and retrieving a set of similar items to output for display to the user. The similar items can be similar to the identified item, and the set of similar items can include one or more attribute values for each similar item. In addition, in response to receiving a selection of one or more of the attribute values by the user, the method can further include retrieving similar items corresponding to the user-selected attribute values. Moreover, the method can include outputting at least a subset of the similar items for display.

Abstract: In order to measure a measurement target on a PCB, height information of the PCB is acquired by using a first image photographed by illuminating a grating pattern light onto the PCB. Then, a first area protruding on the PCB by greater than a reference height is determined as the measurement target by using the height information. Thereafter, color information of the PCB is acquired by using a second image photographed by illuminating light onto the PCB. Then, the first color information of the first area determined as the measurement target out of the color information of the PCB is set as reference color information. Thereafter, the reference color information is compared with color information of an area except for the first area to judge whether the measurement target is formed in the area except for the first area. Thus, the measurement target may be accurately measured.
