  • Patent number: 9633458
Abstract: In a graphics processing pipeline, a processing unit establishes a bounding box around a polygon in order to identify sample points that are covered by the polygon. For a given sample point included within the bounding box, the processing unit constructs a set of lines that intersect at the sample point, where each line in the set of lines is parallel to at least one side of the polygon. When all vertices of the polygon reside on one side of at least one line in the set of lines, the processing unit may reduce the size of the bounding box to exclude the sample point.

  • Patent number: 9620064
Abstract: A method and system are provided for compensating for brightness changes in a display having an array of display pixels. The method includes storing a plurality of look-up tables, where each table has a plurality of brightness signals that provide compensation for a brightness change when the refresh rate is changed during a panel self-refresh. The method also includes using display control circuitry to determine the refresh rate associated with an input signal and to determine a compensation based on the refresh rate. The display control circuitry may, for example, use non-linear interpolation to generate a look-up table for the refresh rate. The display control circuitry may adjust the input signal based on the look-up table to produce an output signal that compensates for a brightness change at the refresh rate. The output signal may be transmitted to the array of display pixels.

  • Patent number: 9595134
Abstract: A method reconstructs at three-dimensional (3D) real-world scene from a single two-dimensional (2D) image by identifying junctions satisfying geometric constraint of the scene based on intersecting lines, vanishing points, and vanishing lines that are orthogonal to each other. Possible layouts of the scene are generated by sampling the 2D image according to the junctions. Then, an energy function is maximized to select an optimal layout from the possible layouts. The energy function use's a conditional random field (CRF) model to evaluate the possible layouts.
