  • Patent number: 9538153
Abstract: In a high speed image capturing state, a camera signal processing circuit is not needed to perform a signal process at a high screen rate, but at a regular screen rate. In the high speed image capturing mode, raw data of 240 fps received from an image sensor 101 are recorded on a recording device 111 through a conversion processing section 201 and a recording device controlling circuit 210. Raw data that have been decimated and size-converted are supplied to a camera signal processing circuit 203 through a pre-processing circuit 202 and an image being captured is displayed on a display section 112 with a signal for which a camera process has been performed.

  • Patent number: 9525917
Abstract: While a multimedia device is fast-forwarding content, the multimedia device reads “jump back” tags expressed in or derived from a closed-caption stream. When the multimedia device detects the presence of a “jump back” tag while fast-forwarding, the multimedia device enters a special state. While in this special state, if the multimedia device detects that the user has instructed the multimedia device to stop fast-forwarding, the multimedia device locates a specified temporal location in a recorded commercial break. This specified temporal location may be specified by the particular tag, for example. The multimedia device stops performing whatever activity in which the multimedia device was engaged, “jumps back” to the specified temporal location in the recorded commercial break, and resumes playing the recorded content stream at normal speed from the specified temporal location.

  • Patent number: 9521450
Abstract: At the time of device starting or channel switching in a content output device, even when buffering of a sufficiently large size is performed in order to address multimedia processing at the time of start of a device and content switching, slow reproduction in which video and audio are synchronized with each other can be performed without keeping a user waiting for a long time, and at an arbitrary reproduction rate with the extent of not giving the user feeling of unnaturalness. The broadcasting reception unit initializes the delay amount to a predetermined start value, then gradually increases it with lapse of time, and stops the increase when the delay amount reaches a predetermined end value. Video and audio are synchronously and slowly reproduced at a reproduction rate decided by an increment per unit time of the delay amount.

  • Patent number: 9521357
Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a method and a computer system for implementing the method are provided. The method may include streaming temporal video to obtain a streamed temporal video having a current incomplete segment and dynamically buffering the current incomplete segment to store data associated thereto and a current incomplete segment buffer. The method may further include receiving first and second inputs to obtain start and end time markers for a first video segment and continuously recording the streamed temporal video based on receipt of the first input and until receipt of the second input to obtain a raw recorded first video segment. A recorded first video segment may be generated based on the raw recorded first video segment and the current incomplete segment data. The method may be used to generate recordings of discontinuous events from streaming video, for example, individual plays during sporting events.

  • Patent number: 9509968
Abstract: Embodiments of methods for multimedia annotation with sensor data (referred to herein as Sensor-rich video) includes acquisition, management, storage, indexing, transmission, search, and display of video, images, or sound, that has been recorded in conjunction with additional sensor information (such as, but not limited to, global positioning system information (latitude, longitude, altitude), compass directions, WiFi fingerprints, ambient lighting conditions, etc.). The collection of sensor information is acquired on a continuous basis during recording. For example, the GPS information may be continuously acquired from a corresponding sensor at every second during the recording of a video. Therefore, the acquisition apparatus generates a continuous stream of video frames and a continuous stream of sensor meta-data values. The two streams are correlated in that every video frame is associated with a set of sensor values. Note that the sampling frequency (i.e.
