  • Patent number: 11515014
Abstract: An illustrative research support computing system maintains subject data representative of attributes for research subjects included in a potential subject pool for potential research studies. The system receives, from a client device, an input dataset representative of: 1) a set of parameters defining a research study to be conducted with respect to a research subject group, and 2) a set of criteria for research subjects that are to be included in the research subject group. The system designates a research subject included in the potential subject pool for inclusion in the research subject group based on the set of criteria, and receives research data detected for the research subject in accordance with the set of parameters. The system also provides an output dataset generated based on the research data detected for the research subject in accordance with the set of parameters. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11468996
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for determining and mitigating the aggregate loss risk associated with hospitalization for epidemic or pandemic influenza for health insurers, reinsurers, provider organizations, or public policy-makers. An accurate prediction of this risk may be provided, which may be used to determine parameters for reinsurance underwriting or for issuance and trading of catastrophe bonds (“cat bonds”) or other insurance-linked securities (ILS) and derivatives to lay off substantial amounts of such risk to capital markets investors. In particular, one embodiment uses a novel log-expit transformation of the raw data and non-parametric gradient-boosting machine-learning modeling in order to determine a high-claim right-tail risk. Some embodiments further comprise securitizing epidemic or pandemic influenza acute care health services catastrophe risk.

  • Patent number: 11462332
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for the mass testing of a population for an infection. Pooled sampling may be used to reduce the number of tests needed for effective community surveillance. Individual members may be sorted into pools via a probability of infection to minimize the tests needed to identify positive individuals. The detection limits of testing assays may be used to help determine an appropriate pool size. Taxonomy tables characterizing the solution space of the total tests needed based on different variables may be generated and/or used to make testing decisions. Simulations of mass testing schemes may be used to facilitate testing decisions. Systems may be used to coordinate data and/or automate one or more steps of the testing process. Long-term community surveillance strategies may use prevalence testing, periodic mass testing via sample pooling, and/or periodic single sample testing to contain the spread of a contagion.

  • Patent number: 11430554
Abstract: An automated tracking system for a pharmacy that tracks unique identifiers (“UI”) with a stock supply of an item or items within a supply container and that provides a security system for determining a discrepancy associated with the stock supply. The UI information automatically travels with the stock supply until it is dispensed to a customer or patient, thereby allowing the system to monitor and track supply for replenishment of the supply or improper or potentially fraudulent transactions. If desired, the improved security allows supply containers and individual supplies within those containers to be stored in the same storage area thereby maximizing available storage space while still improving dispensing and filling accuracy and minimizing loss.

  • Patent number: 11430571
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to aggregating and sharing wellness data. The wellness data can be received by a user device from any number of sensors external or internal to the user device, from a user manually entering the wellness data, or from other users or entities. The user device can securely store the wellness data on the user device and transmit the wellness data to be stored on a remote database. A user of the device can share some or all of the wellness data with friends, relatives, caregivers, healthcare providers, or the like. The user device can further display a user's wellness data in an aggregated view of different types of wellness data. Wellness data of other users can also be viewed if authorizations from those users have been received.

  • Patent number: 11424011
Abstract: Techniques for unbounded therapy evaluation are provided. A request to suggest a potential therapy based on a patient profile is received. A plurality of accepted therapies is determined based on the patient profile, where the plurality of accepted therapies is based on stored definitions obtained from one or more subject matter experts. Next, a plurality of therapy components is identified based on the plurality of accepted therapies. A plurality of potential therapies is then identified based on the plurality of therapy components, where none of the plurality of potential therapies are included in the plurality of accepted therapies. A score is generated for a potential therapy of the plurality of potential therapies based on analyzing a knowledge graph, where the score indicates a suitability of the potential therapy for a patient associated with the patient profile. Finally, the potential therapy is provided, along with an indication of the score.

  • Patent number: 11416901
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and apparatus for development and use of a medical form. One example system receives a request on a first computer to create the medical form. The medical form includes user selected fields corresponding to patient information. The system further receives signals on the first computer, where the signals describe form fields for the medical form. The system communicates the medical form from the first computer to the first tablet device for display on the first tablet device. The system receives form values, wherein at least some of the form values correspond to information about an appointment. Responsive to receiving a completion signal, the system generates a clinical narrative for the appointment using the completed form values.

  • Patent number: 11361394
Abstract: Techniques for automatically tracking, ordering, and replenishing prescription item stock are provided. Based upon a statistical analysis of prescription order transactions, rules may be established to selectively identify which prescription stocked items qualify for automatic stock tracking, ordering, and replenishment. The rules may be based upon metrics such as a daily rate at which each prescription item is dispensed over a specified sampling period as well as the cost of each prescription item. Once qualified, automatic replenishment may be facilitated by calculating stock number minimums and maximums using a statistical analysis of the prescription transaction history for qualifying prescription items. The minimum and maximum stock number values may be used to trigger the generation of purchase orders and to specify how much stock needs to be ordered for each qualifying prescription item as it is replenished.

  • Patent number: 11302426
Abstract: Various systems and methods are provided that aggregate, analyze, and display health data for users. The system aggregates data stored in various databases. For example, the system retrieves data from these databases, maps the data to a set of common terms based on an ontology, and displays such information to an entity accessing the system. Rather than converting the data stored in the databases into a standardized format, the system includes a set of ontologies that provide a correlation between a first set of fields and a second set of fields. The system determines a correlation between a first field in the first set of fields and a second field in the second set of fields using the ontology, stores data retrieved from the database in a second database in association with the second field, and displays the data associated with the first field under the second field.

  • Patent number: 11232402
Abstract: An automated system updates electronic medical records (EMRs) based on dictated reports, without requiring manual data entry into on-screen forms. A dictated report is transcribed by an automatic speech recognizer, and facts are extracted from the report and stored in encoded form. Information from a patient's report is also stored in encoded form. The resulting encoded information from the report and EMR are reconciled with each other, and changes to be made to the EMR are identified based on the reconciliation. The identified changes are made to the EMR automatially, without requiring manual data entry into the EMR.
