Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for improving searching functionalities using graphical user interfaces. A web-based platform receives data relating to user activity during a search session, and furthermore presents suggested actions and/or search refinements based on the user activity. Processing modules include logic for identifying patterns and/or indicators in the user activity, and furthermore match detected patterns and/or indicators with suggested actions. The suggested actions are presented on the graphical user interface for allowing a user to refine the search session without exiting or terminating the search session.

Abstract: An avatar or avatar environment to visualize data may be provided within a social networking system or service, for example as part of the Internet, and/or within a desktop widget, panel, gadget, or the like. The avatar may further evolve or alter its appearance, animation, or other visual or audio characteristics in response to the data or other input such as athletic activity performed by a corresponding user. In particular, the avatar of an embodiment may respond to and provide visualization of athletic or sport performance data.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for visual traceability of requirements for products. The system may include a processor configured to generate a user interface through a display device that outputs a listing of at least a portion of a plurality of requirements for a product based on data stored in a data store that specifies associations between requirements and one or more of a plurality of components included in the product. The processor may receive a first input through at least one input device that is representative of a first selection of at least one of the plurality of requirements.

Abstract: Improved techniques for dynamically controlling a program flow of a testing application. The testing application administers an exam on a user interface (UI). A state for each question is monitored, where the state includes a viewed, answered, or unviewed state. A question's state changes based on whether interaction is detected for that question. While the testing application is administering the exam, user input triggers a pause to the administration. A popup window is displayed to show a first list of instructions, a second list identifying exam questions having the “viewed” state, and a confirmation UI element. After the confirmation UI element is selected, the UI is modified by occluding the exam questions, by displaying a resume UI element, and by displaying a timing UI element. Later, the testing application continues the test's administration, but restricts access to certain questions.

A computing platform may detect, via a computing device, a voice-based interaction between an enterprise agent and a customer. Then, the computing platform may cause, via the computing device, the voice-based interaction to be captured as audio data. The computing platform may then transform the audio data to textual data. Subsequently, the computing platform may identify, in the textual data, a customer query. Then, the computing platform may retrieve, in real-time and based on the voice-based interaction and from a repository of widgets, a first widget, where the first widget includes information at least partially responsive to the customer query. Then, the computing platform may display, to the enterprise agent and via a graphical user interface in use by the enterprise agent, the first widget.

The method includes setting an application execution space having one or more sub spaces in which windows executing applications are arranged, arranging windows corresponding to one or more applications which are being executed in the sub spaces of the set application execution space, displaying a first sub space corresponding to one of the one or more sub spaces on the touch screen, receiving a data sharing command for sharing data included in a first window arranged in the first sub space, and sharing the data to be shared by a second window arranged in a second sub space corresponding to one of the one or more sub spaces based on the data sharing command.

Abstract: Systems and methods for control of application actions using a modification trigger to visually modify an electronic document are disclosed. A computing device, such as a mobile computing device having a touchscreen display, can display an electronic document having a first portion and a second portion. Initially upon displaying the electronic document, the computing device displays the first portion and the second portion may lie out of view, not displayed. A user can swipe along a scroll direction, causing the second portion to be displayed. The second portion can include or otherwise be associated with a modification trigger. Upon receiving a gesture on the second portion, the modification trigger performs actions, including, for example, subscribing to a series of electronic documents and minimizing the visual display of the electronic document.

Abstract: A user selects a set of photographs from a trip through an environment that he or she desires to present to other people. A collection of photographs, including the set of photographs captured during the trip optionally augmented with additional photographs obtained from another collection, are combined with a terrain model (e.g., a digital elevation model) to extract information regarding the geographic location of each of the photographs within the environment. The collection of photographs are analyzed, considering their geolocation information as well as the photograph content to register the photographs relative to one another. This information for the photographs is compared to the terrain model in order to accurately position the viewpoint for each photograph within the environment. A presentation of the selected photographs within the environment is generated that displays both the selected photographs and synthetic data filled in beyond the edges of the selected photographs.

Abstract: Video features encourage and ensure that survey videos are viewed in full. The survey answer block and video rewind, forward fast and mute are disabled during the video presentation. With the user's permission, telephone calls, text messaging and browsing may also be disabled during the video. Interactive responses may be required at various points in the video to ensure that the viewer is paying attention. The viewer's image may be recorded or eye gaze may be tracked while viewing the video. Candidates may be qualified for viewing videos and selected in a priority order by meeting certain demographic conditions, having certain topics of interest identified in their social media profiles, agreeing to post-video direct contact, and having participated in prior video surveys. Potential candidates may be qualified by answering qualifying questions, viewing a teaser video, or responding to a prompt asking them to opt-in to the video survey.

One of the methods includes receiving a page, the page including panels, each panel having an equivalent predetermined size. The method includes selecting panels to include in a slide based on characteristics of the user device and the panel groups. The method includes determining a scaled size for each panel in the selected panels based on a relative weighting of the panel groups. The method includes resizing a panel in the set of panels based on the scaled size. The method includes generating the slide using the set of panels including the resized panel. The method includes sending the slide to the user device.

Abstract: A multi-dimensional graphic user interface displays selected types of information regarding items included in one or more databases or returned by a search in accordance with locations on a two-dimensional display area or projection of a three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional area and provides for selective display of information about respective items in a database (e.g. metadata) as additional dimensions of the display which may be suppressed and/or selectively introduced to avoid user distraction or obscuring information or for comparison between screens which may indicate to a user the degree to which a particular item may or may not be germane to an issue or particular subject matter of interest. The graphic user interface thus provides an effective tool for evaluating search results and organizing detailed review thereof.

Abstract: An activity stream based interaction model and systems implementing such a model are disclosed. In various embodiments, a text-based tag is recognized in a received communication stream, such as an activity stream. An action indicated by text included in the tag is determined and performed in response to receiving the tag. In some embodiments, a tag to be inserted into the communication stream may be determined automatically by a machine or a process running on a machine, for example a workflow engine.
