Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing one or a series of value transfers. In some instances, the systems and methods include web or Internet based user interfaces that provide a mechanism whereby a user can implement a transfer plan without interacting with a human operator. Further, in some instances, such systems and methods provide a mechanism for authorizing access to one or more asset accounts from which value is transferred, and/or recipient accounts to which value is transferred. In some cases, the authorization function is performed by an entity that enjoys a pre-existing relationship with a user accessing the systems of the present invention, while any actual transfers are performed by a third party entity. This can be an advantage where authorization requires a signature or other interaction with a user sufficient to conform to electronic signature laws.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method for determining license compliance includes receiving data regarding a plurality of licenses, including at least first and second licenses. The first license has a corresponding first license count that applies to a first software product. The second license has a corresponding second license count that applies to the first software product. An instance count of the first software product is determined. A determination is made regarding whether the instance count can be apportioned to the first and second licenses, such that neither the first or second license counts are exceeded.

Abstract: Disclosed is a computer-implemented system and method for rating an asset, and, in embodiments, a system and method for performing a double-blind, three stage credit rating of a securitized instrument, such as without limitation, a commercial mortgage backed security or an asset thereof. The disclosed method utilizes a secure database structure which trifurcates information relating to the asset being rated into first, second, and third analytical stages. Asset information is distributed such that analysts at each stage have access to only that information which is relevant to the scope of the particular analytical stage being performed, while irrelevant and prejudicial information is withheld from the analyst. Unique access tokens are employed to control access to stage data and to maintain the integrity of the analytical process.

Abstract: Digital assets are provided for distribution within an electronic network. The digital asset includes digital content that is associated with a digital rights holder. A serial number is provided for (embedded within) the asset; this number uniquely identifies a first introduction of digital asset for distribution within the electronic network. The asset is then posted in a number of locations so that it can be distributed to users. A transaction database is updated to reflect occurrences of different instantiations of the asset.

Abstract: Parties involved in transacting business in an E-marketplace (E-marketplace participants) each identify and submit to the E-marketplace their P3P policy and/or other relevant characteristics related to their privacy policy needs (those that they adhere to, referred to as “privacy policies”; those that they require, referred to as “privacy preferences”, or both). Submitted with the privacy policy is a digital signature that is tied to the owner of the web objects to which the privacy policy pertains. Using a digital signature assures the integrity of the privacy policy since it travels with the privacy policy and thus refers back to the original sender of the policy rather than the middleman (the E-marketplace), and if the document (the privacy policy) to which it is attached has been tampered with, the digital signature will be invalidated.

Abstract: A universal ID and biometrics systems and methods are disclosed. A method includes receiving an authentication request message originating from a user. The authentication request message includes a first identifier and a second identifier, where the second identifier includes biometric data. The method further includes determining a third identifier based on the first identifier and sending the second and third identifiers to a first server computer to determine if the second and third identifiers have a predetermined correlation. The method further includes receiving confirmation of user authentication if the identification system determines that the second and third identifiers have the predetermined correlation.

Abstract: An apparatus including a microprocessor and an external crystal. The microprocessor executes non-secure application programs and a secure application program, where the secure application program comprises instructions from a host architecture instruction set, and where the non-secure application programs are accessed from a system memory via a system bus and the secure application program is accessed from a secure non-volatile memory via a private bus coupled to the microprocessor. The microprocessor has a secure real time clock that provides a persistent time, where the secure real time clock is only visible and accessible by the secure application program when the microprocessor is executing in a secure mode. Abstract: Authenticity of a proposed future or current participant in a multi-party dialog is checked by splitting an authenticity challenge query into at least two portions wherein none of the portions individually contains sufficient information to fully define the challenge query. These separated portions are then sent to another dialog participant over at least two different communication channels thus enhancing the probability that a successive challenge response is authentic. The authenticity challenge query and splitting thereof into plural portions may include formation of a logical combination (e.g., exclusive-OR) of first and second data strings (one of which may be a challenge question) to produce a resultant third data string where the separated and separately communicated portions include the first and third data strings as separate portions as being sent over respectively different communication channels.

Abstract: A system and method for protecting user privacy using social inference protection techniques is provided. The system executes a plurality of software modules which model of background knowledge associated with one or more users of the mobile computing devices; estimate information entropy of a user attribute which could include identity, location, profile information, etc.; utilize the information entropy models to predict the social inference risk; and minimize privacy risks by taking a protective action after detecting a high risk.

Abstract: An on-line value bearing item (VBI) printing system that includes one or more cryptographic modules and a secure database is disclosed. The secure database includes account balances and other information for all of the on-line value-bearing item system customers and is capable of preventing access by unauthorized users. Also, a secure communication network is in operation to prevent unauthorized access to the users' data stored in the database. A plurality of subsystems located on the server system side of the on-line VBI system provide services related to purchasing, accounting, and printing of VBI. In addition to the secure database, the server system includes one or more cryptographic modules for authenticating, processing value for the VBI, and generating indicia data for the plurality of users.
