Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for avoiding out of order uplink data reception upon data radio bearer (DRB) release or quality of service (QoS) flow addition. An exemplary method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE), includes obtaining an indication that a first data radio bearer (DRB) is released or handed over to a second DRB, wherein a first mapping maps a first quality of service (QoS) flow to the first DRB; obtaining a second mapping that maps the first QoS flow to a second DRB; editing service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) headers of uplink protocol data units (PDUs) in an uplink transmission buffer associated with the first DRB, based on a difference between a first configuration of the first DRB and a second configuration of the second DRB; and transmitting the uplink PDUs via the second DRB.

  • Patent number: 11166175
Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) network cell that uses modular communication modems may be configured to support various communication standards and communication frequency bands. A UAV communication controller may monitor a signal robustness value for a communication frequency band that a UAV network cell is using for a relay backhaul with a ground network cell of a wireless carrier network. In response to determining that the signal robustness value of the communication frequency band has dropped below a predetermined threshold, the UAV communication controller may command the UAV network cell to use an additional communication frequency band that is different from the communication frequency band to carry at least one portion of backhaul communication with the wireless carrier network.

  • Patent number: 11140655
Abstract: Examples pertaining to improved Globally Unique Temporary Identity (GUTI) allocation after establishment of mobile-terminated connection in mobile communications are described. An apparatus implemented in a UE receives a paging message from a network node of a wireless network. The apparatus then transmits a request to the network node responsive to receiving the paging message. In response to transmitting the request, the apparatus receives a signaling from the network node, with the signaling indicating a new temporary identity of the UE.

  • Patent number: 11044785
Abstract: The Automated Content Upload System networks a plurality of aircraft together when they are parked at the gates of an airport. Communications among the aircraft are guided by a Content Manager, resident at or near the airport, which maintains data representative of InFlight Entertainment Content presently stored on each aircraft and the list of scheduled InFlight Entertainment Content available on each aircraft. The Content Manager guides the exchange of InFlight Entertainment Content among the aircraft, as well as from the Content Manager to the aircraft, to automatically distribute InFlight Entertainment Content to the aircraft efficiently and timely. This process includes the ability to multicast data from the Content Manager to multiple aircraft in a single transmission, obtaining content delivery efficiency, populating multiple aircraft via a single transmission from the Content Manager.

  • Patent number: 11039010
Abstract: A system for ring suppression facilitates notification and handling of unwanted calls as desired by a recipient, and in particular without disturbing the recipient. A new social dimension of call presentation logic is now available to callers. A telephony device is configured to receive an incoming call. The incoming call includes a calling line identity (CLI). On the telephony device, individual contacts in an address book are searched for a match to the CLI. If a match is found, a first phone action is activated (such as ringing the phone). If a match is not found in the address book for the incoming CLI, a second phone action is activated (such as not ringing the phone, and displaying the CLI). In other words, a call that is not in the address book of the recipient (B party) is silenced.

  • Patent number: 11026138
Abstract: A mechanism for controlling a measurement threshold used for triggering handover of a user equipment device (UE) when the UE is connected with a first access node, the first access node operating on a first frequency band and a second frequency band, and a second access operating on the second frequency band. A determination is made as to whether the UE supports inter-band dual-connectivity service with the UE being connected with the first access node on the first band and with the second access node on the second band. And responsive to the determination being that the UE does not support the inter-band dual-connectivity service, the measurement threshold is adjusted from a default level to an adjusted level to help facilitate handover of the UE from being connected with the first access node on the first band to being connected with the first access node instead on the second band.

  • Patent number: 11018702
Abstract: A multi-radio access technology (RAT) circuit is provided. The multi-RAT circuit includes a radio frequency (RF) circuit(s) coupled to an interconnect medium(s). The RF circuit(s) includes a power head circuit configured to receive a local oscillation (LO) pilot and an RF signal via the interconnect medium(s). The power head circuit generates an LO signal based on the LO pilot without requiring a synthesizer. Accordingly, the power head circuit modulates the RF signal to a carrier band based on the LO signal for transmission in a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. By generating the LO signal and modulating the RF signal to the carrier band in the power head circuit, it may be possible to minimize attenuation and/or interference to the RF signal. Further, it may also be possible to share the interconnect medium(s) with existing RATs, thus helping to reduce size, power, and cost impacts associated with supporting an mmWave RAT.

  • Patent number: 10992349
Abstract: Ringing occurring in a digital signal to be transmitted, is reduced or suppressed. A transmission module Ma includes a transmitter 200a configured to transmit a digital signal, a transmission antenna 100a constituted by a metal plate, or by a conductor formed on an insulator. The transmission antenna 100a is configured to be electromagnetically or magnetically coupled to a reception antenna 100b of a non-contact reception module Mb for digital communication. A resistor 400a is connected in series between the transmitter 200a and the transmission antenna 100a. The resistor 400a has such a resistance value that the resistor 400a entirely blunts a waveform of the digital signal outputted from the transmitter 200a so as to reduce or suppress ringing occurring in the digital signal. The blunted digital signal can be inputted into the transmission antenna 100a.

  • Patent number: 10972906
Abstract: A network device receives a location update message from a mobile network switch. The location update message indicates that a mobile device is registered with the mobile network switch. The location update message includes an international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) associated with the mobile device. The network device determines, based at least on the IMSI, a plurality of MSISDNs associated with the mobile device, including a first MSISDN that is enabled for calling and a second MSISDN that is not enabled for calling. The network device transmits, in response to the location update message, subscriber data to a database associated with the mobile network switch, which associates the IMSI with the first MSISDN.

  • Patent number: 10959205
Abstract: Techniques for systems in which a measuring node is associated with multiple antenna, including techniques for selecting and configuring the set of receiving antennas suitable for performing uplink measurements for a given wireless device. An example method, as implemented by a network node, is for controlling measurements of radio signals transmitted by a wireless device, where the measurements are performed by a measuring node associated with two or more receiving points. The example method begins with obtaining a receiving point configuration for at least one measuring node associated with two or more receiving points, and continues with selecting one or more receiving points for performing measurements, based on the obtained configuration. The selected receiving points are then configured for performing the measurements.
