  • Patent number: 11962835
Abstract: Techniques are described for synchronizing internet (“over the top”) video streams for simultaneous playback. In particular, techniques are described to improve the performance and accuracy of stream synchronization among participant media player applications playing a same video content item, for example, as part of a “watch party.” The techniques can be further augmented to allow interaction between the users watching the presentation, e.g., by sending messages to other users or by annotating the video presentation with comments, and can be further used to enable “cross device control,” a feature that enables multiple users, or a single user with multiple devices, to control a shared video playback session on another device. For example, two users watching a streaming video on a set-top box connected to a TV in their living room could each use an app on their respective smart phones to pause/play/seek the playback session, providing a more collaborative experience.

  • Patent number: 11962761
Abstract: A method for decoding a data stream representative of an image split into blocks. For a current block of the image, an item of information indicating a coding mode among a first and a second coding mode of the current block is decoded from the data stream and the current block is decoded depending on this information. When the coding mode of the current block corresponds to the second coding mode, the current block is reconstructed from a prediction obtained, for each pixel, from another previously decoded pixel belonging to the current block or to a previously decoded block of the image, and from a decoded residue associated with the pixel. At least one processing method is applied to the reconstructed current block for at least one pixel of the current block depending on the coding mode of the current block and/or the coding mode of the neighbouring blocks.

  • Patent number: 11949859
Abstract: Systems, methods, and media are provided for loop filtering across raster scan slices. One example includes obtaining the video data comprising one or more pictures and a first block of a picture having a pixel subject to filtering. A second block is determined to be located in the first slice in a particular relation to the second block. A third block that includes pixels for filtering the pixel is determined to be in a second slice at a diagonal corner of the first block, with filtering across slice boundaries disabled. First one or more pixels of the second block are identified as available for performing loop filtering of the pixel and second one or more pixels of the third block identified as unavailable for performing the loop filtering of the pixel of the first block. The first one or more pixels and the second one or more pixels are padded.

  • Patent number: 11924455
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a coefficient coding method, an encoder, and a decoder. The method includes the following. A bitstream is parsed to obtain a video flag. When the video flag indicates that a video satisfies a preset condition, the bitstream is parsed to obtain a last-significant-coefficient position-reverse flag and coordinate information of a last significant coefficient. When the last-significant-coefficient position-reverse flag indicates that a position of the last significant coefficient is reversed for a current block, the position of the last significant coefficient is determined by calculation with the coordinate information of the last significant coefficient. According to a preset scanning order, all coefficients before the position of the last significant coefficient are decoded to determine coefficients of the current block.
