Abstract: An adjustable target holder for martial arts training has a base, a vertical support post and an elongated bi-sectional arm. The first arm is hollow, is slidably attached to the post, and has an open distal end. The second arm is solid and includes an extension received in the first arm's hollow interior. The second arm extension rotates inside the first arm. The second arm is rotated and locked into a selected position by means of a push button and follower detent which is urged into one of a series of depressions in the first arm's interior. The second arm's distal end includes a chamber into which a target end is placed. The target end is held firmly in the second arm by wedges which are positioned by a rack and pinion. When a handle operably connected to the rack and pinion is turned, the wedges move to hold the target. The second arm is then rotated into a desired position, supporting the board horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Abstract: An applicator package for the application of flowable materials to surfaces, comprising: an applicator pad; a backing member, one surface of which is in adhesive contact with the pad, comprising a first, flexible sheet; a second member, in contact with the other surface of the backing member, comprising a formed semi-rigid sheet having at least one recess adjacent the pad; at least one cavity, or reservoir for flowable materials distally spaced from the recess; a peripheral groove in fluid connection with the recess and spaced from the distal and side edges of the member; co-planar separations, between the cavity and the groove and recess, in contact with the backing member the backing member being sealed to the second member at the periphery thereof and at the separations between the cavity, groove and recess; and an opening adjacent to and between the pad and the recess to permit the flow of the flowable materials therethrough into the pad and therethrough to the desired surfaces.

Abstract: A correction fluid pen for applying a correction fluid, the correction fluid being of the type containing an opaque covering pigment and a volatile solvent. The pen includes a barrel with a manually squeezable plastic wall portion and an applicator with a spring biased stylus. The squeezable plastic wall portions advantageously have a bellows structure to facilitate the manual squeezing operation. The stylus is positioned within an orifice assembly which includes an orifice for passing the correction fluid. A portion of the stylus is moveable toward an exit opening for the orifice assembly for metering correction fluid passing out of the orifice assembly.

Abstract: The device comprises: a tubular element (3) with a slide (4, 5) wherein there is slidably mounted a cup (9) intended to accommodate a stick of a product; a cylindrical shell (12) in the wall whereof provision is made for at least one helical groove capable of cooperating with the stubs (10, 11) of the cup, this shell (12) being fitted on the tubular element (3) and an external casing. The tubular element (3) with a slide is provided on its external wall towards its end remote from the outlet opening (17) with elastic stop (21) capable of bearing against the adjoining edge (22) of the cylindrical shell (12) when the latter has been fitted on the tubular element (3), the above mentioned elastic stop (21) pushing the shell (12) along a direction parallel to the axial direction against the stop (B1, 19) provided at the other end.

Abstract: Disclosed is a safety shield for a weight training machine. The safety shield includes a first shield member mountable about the weight stack of the weight training machine and a second shield member telescopingly engageable with the first shield member. The shield members are preferably made of a clear or tinted plastic material and they are sized such that the weight stack is enclosed at all times during normal operation of the weight machine.

Abstract: A walking trainer for use by individuals who either through disease or injury require the use of a controlled restraint device to enable them to exercise their limbs. The device comprises aligned vertical and horizontal torso restraints positioned on vertical and horizontal supports to allow mobility of the limbs while restraining the head and torso in a predetermined position. Body contacting members of the device are padded where the padding is further provided with removal fasteners to allow for cleaning.

Abstract: An abdominal exercise apparatus includes a first cross bar positioned behind the user's ankles, a second cross bar positioned above and over the user's knees and a third cross bar positioned below the user's hips and behind the user's thighs. A rigid frame connects the centers of the three cross bars and maintains the cross bars in parallel. The first cross bar can be adapted to support weights. With the user on the user's back, the apparatus is held with the user's legs. The user raises and lowers the user's legs with the apparatus to exercise abdominal muscles.

Abstract: A chalk liner has a vessel shaped main body having a chalk chamber to be charged with chalk powder, an opening formed in the lower end of the main body for dropping the chalk powder from the chalk chamber, a gear disposed in the opening for drawing lines on a cloth by the dropped chalk powder, and a cartridge for supplying chalk powder into the main body, which is fittable in the chalk chamber of the main body and detachable therefrom. By installing the cartridge in the main body, the chalk powder previously charged in the cartridge is supplied into the chalk chamber of the main body. When the chalk powder within the main body runs short during the lining operation, the cartridge is detached from the main body and another cartridge which is previously charged with chalk powder is installed in the main body. This enables the easy recharge of chalk powder in a short time.

Abstract: A one-hand operable cosmetic container includes a pair of cases pivotally mounted to a base. The cases are resiliently biased to a closed position wherein the product is enclosed by the cases. A trigger or tabs are provided for pivoting the cases to an open position wherein the product is exposed.

Abstract: An amusement device, useful for ocular as well as hand-eye coordination exercises, takes the form of a rod with two removable end balls and a positionally adjustable intermediate ball. The rod is manipulated, twirled and juggled by means of two hand-held juggling wands in a variety of ways to effect different exercises. The balls are visibly distinguishable, preferably by color, to permit a user to focus on a specific ball while the rod is twirling and to catch the rod with that ball in a prescribed orientation. The adjustable ball permits selective adjustment of the center of gravity of the rod and correspondingly adjusts the rod trajectory so as to increase and decrease the difficulty of each exercise. One or more individuals can use the juggled rod, each holding a pair of juggling wands.

Abstract: A pen tip structure comprises (1) an elongated stem which defines a cylindrical outer surface and a flat end surface, the flat end surface including one or more grooves which extend from the cylindrical outer surface radially inwardly towards a center point thereof, (2) a tube positioned around the elongated stem, the tube including inwardly-extending protrusions that form at least one longitudinal ink flow channel along the cylindrical outer surface of the elongated stem, and an end portion which is located beyond the flat end surface of the elongated stem, the end portion providing a mouth, and (3) a rotatable member positioned between the noted mouth and the flat end surface of the elongated stem, the rotatable member having a surface portion which extends beyond the mouth for conveying ink to a receiving surface and an opposite surface portion for receiving ink supplied thereto by capillary action.

Abstract: A mechanism for extruding and retracting the writing member of a writing instrument which is set ready for writing by pressing a clip member vertically movable in a slit bored in the rear side wall of a cylinder, but held in a protruded state while the writing instrument is not set for writing. The clip member presses a flexible working element arranged under the clip member and having a plurality of elastic zigzag bent portions. The working element thus pressed down axially extends to press the back of the writing member contained in the front part of the cylinder and energized backward by spring action and moves the writing member forward. The tip of the writing member is protruded from the opening at the front end of the cylinder and the clip holder of the clip member is held inside the slit during writing.

Abstract: A dentifrice dispensing toothbrush is described which stores dentifrice material in its handle and deposits a controlled quantity of the stored material directly onto the top of the brush surface. The toothbrush comprises (1) a housing which includes a handle, (2) a reservoir situated within the housing for storing dentifrice material, (3) a brush having bristles which are attached to and supported by a brush head member, and (4) a pump which causes a controlled quantity of dentifrice material to be pumped from the reservoir through a channel and a movable applicator and thereafter, to be deposited onto the brush surface. The applicator can be positioned in either a depositing or non-depositing relationship with the brush surface. No dentifrice can be pumped from the reservoir when the applicator is in a non-depositing relationship with the brush surface thus preventing the accidental discharge of dentifrice.

Abstract: An aerobic exercise device for simulating jump-roping in which there is provided a handle element and a tubular element rotatably coupled to an end of the handle element by a stretchable rubber member, which rubber member passes entirely through the hollow interior of the tubular member. Upon rotation of the rubber member and tubular element together by the handle gripped by a person's hand, the weight of the tubular element causes the rubber member to stretch because of centrifugal force to provide cushioning or shock absorption. A weight element is also provided about the outer circumference of the tubular element, which weight element is adjustably positionable along the tubular element via an o-ring that is snugly received in an open end of the weight element, so that the torque created during the revolving of the tubular element may be varied.

Abstract: A twist actuated writing instrument comprised of a barrel, a cap, a two-directional cam, and an actuator wherein the barrel, the cap, the two-directional cam, and the actuator axially encase a writing element and a spring and wherein the cap may be rotated in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction relative to the barrel, such that when the cap is rotated in either direction relative to the barrel, the writing element will be advanced to the writing position and when the cap is rotated in the opposite direction relative to the barrel, the writing element will retract.

Abstract: A non-functioning or pseudo-brake designed for use by passengers in a moving vehicle to depress when they desire the vehicle driver to brake or slow down. A portable brake pedal 14 (FIGS. 1-4) is positioned on the vehicle floor in front of a passenger, and when the passenger presses pedal 14, a warning light 30 and/or buzzer is actuated by switch 26 to let the driver know that his passenger(s) are concerned about his driving. A pivotal support arm 16 and a coil spring 20 support pedal 14 spaced from a heavy metal plate 12. Plate 12 is augmented by granular filled bags 42, 43 to maintain the device positioned on the vehicle floorboard. A battery 24 supplies power to actuate light 30 and/or the buzzer. Light housing 30 is releasably attached to the vehicle dashboard via a magnet 31, suction cup, double-backed adhesive tape, or the like.In a modified form of the invention warning light 50 is factory installed and provided with an outlet 51 for connection with pin 52 leading to the pedal assembly.

Abstract: An exercise treadmill in which the slope of an endless belt is varied by changing the height of one end of a base frame by means of a swing frame having a vertically adjustable pivot axis. The swing frame is movable from an active treadmill supporting position to an inactive condition where the pivot axis can be changed.

Abstract: An exercising apparatus of the rowing type having a seat freely slidable on a rail, feet stirrups, and poles representing oars that are provided with one-way resistance. With these features, the apparatus is usable as a conventional rowing-type machine. It is convertible to alternate use by the additional features as follows: the seat is provided with a backrest and the seat is reversible on the rail. The poles are pivoted front to back, the resistance being applied in one of these directions only, and are further freely pivotable side-to-side. The seat is locked in place in its reversed position so that the poles can be moved by the user between a position with the arms extended to the sides and the arms extended to the front. Such movement is resisted on the side-to-front motion only.

Abstract: A weight machine for use by persons confined to a wheelchair designed so that the person so confined may independently, or with minimal assistance, use the exercise machine. The frame of the exercise machine extends outwardly beyond the backrest and a plurality of ramp members are pivotally connected to said frame so that the person confined to a wheelchair can back onto the ramp members and each will pivot toward the machine thereby allowing the person confined to the wheelchair to back up to the machine until their back is against the backrest of the exercise machine. The backrest is positioned to provide support for the person's spine throughout the various exercises which may be performed. When the exercises are completed, the wheelchair can be rolled forward causing the ramp members to pivot away from the weight machine and allowing the person confined to the wheelchair to exit.

Abstract: A ballpoint pen which does not require use of a separate cap member is constituted in the form of a linkage of four levers which form a holder. At least one of the four levers is formed to be hollow so as to receive a writing element therein; and the front portion of said writing element projects out of the end of one part of a given connected piece of one of four connecting bodies firmly fitted into an opening portion of each end of the four levers. A concave portion is provided in a second part of the given connected piece for receiving the front portion of said writing element when the ballpoint pen is in closed pen condition. The tip of each lever is joined to the tip of an adjacent lever by a hinge element.
