  • Patent number: 7263478
Abstract: An extractor extracts descriptions unexecuted in the logic simulation according to code coverage information for the circuit description. An examiner examines whether or not there is a possibility of executing the extracted unexecuted descriptions. A prohibited-input-checker generator generates a test pattern. The test pattern is to execute descriptions including unexecuted descriptions that there is a possibility of executing and excluding unexecuted descriptions that there is no possibility of executing as determined by the examiner. The prohibited-input-checker generator also generates a prohibited-input checker to check whether or not an input pattern of a logic simulation to be carried out is equal to an input pattern of the test pattern to execute the unexecuted description if the test bench is regarded as a prohibited input under a specification at a logic simulation using the test pattern to execute the unexecuted description.

  • Patent number: 7263475
Abstract: A method of transferring files between a computer on board a train and a remote station including determining if the remote station is within range of the train and establishing wireless communication between the onboard computer and the remote station. Next, the computer determines whether there are files to be transferred, and if so, transfers the file. If the remote station has updates to be transferred to the train, such updates are transferred to the onboard computer. Files and updates are also transferred between remote stations and between remote stations and a home base station. A method of adjusting a simulator includes inputting data from the train onto a simulator. The simulator is operated with the data and the simulator automatically adjusts the parameters of the simulator until the data of the simulator matches the data from the train. The data can then be process and analyzed.

  • Patent number: 7260511
Abstract: A design aid apparatus includes an input section, an antenna propensity determination section, an output section, and a memory storing design data for a plurality of structures comprising an electronic device to be designed. Conductivity of a structure is determined based on conductivity information of the structure read out from the memory. The antenna propensity determination section determines a contact relation, which expresses a state of electrical contact between a conductive structure having conductivity and another conductive structure, based on information relating to shapes and arrangements of structures stored in the memory. A length of a route between a reference conductive structure and the conductive structure is determined. The antenna propensity of the electronic device is evaluated based on the route length.

  • Patent number: 7246050
Abstract: This invention provides in a safe and effective manner the experience of observing potential collision obstacles or other hazard images to the human operator of an otherwise conventional vehicle, (such as an automobile or aircraft) moving in a normal manner in a natural environment (such as an outdoor test track). The invention incorporates in addition to the mobile vehicle, computer-based image generation devices, and position, velocity, acceleration, measurement instruments to enable the simulated visual hazard images, including operator perception of and response to those hazard images. Making the actual moving vehicle part of the simulated hazard encounter means the vestibular (motion) cues and visual cues of the natural environment are very realistic, while only the computer-generated hazard images imposed on the natural environment view are virtual.

  • Patent number: 7209871
Abstract: It has been reported in the literature that raceway measurement made during the decreasing gas velocity is relevant to operating blast furnaces. However, no raceway correlation is available either for decreasing or increasing gas velocity which is developed based on a systematic study and none of the available correlation take care of frictional properties of the material. Therefore, a systematic experimental study has been carried out on raceway hysteresis. Based on experimental data and using dimensional analysis, two raceway correlations, one each for increasing and decreasing gas velocity, have been developed. Also, in the present study the effect of stresses has been considered along with pressure and bed weight terms mathematically. These three forces are expressed in mathematical form and solved analytically for one-dimensional case, using a force balance approach. Based on the force balance approach a general equation has been obtained to predict the size of the cavity in each case, i.e.

  • Patent number: 7197439
Abstract: A method for using a computer to calculate a pileup state of an impurity in an interface between an Si layer in which a source and a drain are formed, and an SiO2 layer brought in contact with the Si layer at a high speed, wherein data is first set assuming that the Si layer is constituted of a plurality of cells. Subsequently, the impurity is moved to a pileup position of the interface from each cell, and an amount of impurity piled up in each pileup position of the interface is calculated. In this case, a mass of the impurity moving to the interface from each cell is determined as a function of a distance to each pileup position from each cell, and a distance to a source or a drain closest to the cell.

  • Patent number: 7194397
Abstract: A command sequence for an autonomous UAV mission is optimized by simulating the performance of a mission in a model environment. Using a genetic algorithm, neural net, or other suitable technique this command sequence is then optimized, to improve the outcome of the mission. A factor in selecting an optimal command sequence will be its compressability. A set of one or more optimal command sequences is compiled. Each optimal command sequence is encoded into an algorithmic active packet of minimum size for uploaded to the UAV, which then executes the mission. To track the UAV in its performance of the mission without compromising its location, the active packets are executed in the simulated environment. The simulated environment is continually updated with the most current available information. The simulation results are an approximation of the current state of the UAV.
