  • Patent number: 9998987
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to facilitate direct wireless communication between mobile communication devices while avoiding the need for mobile communication devices to periodically scan for in-range devices and avoiding unwanted breaks in traffic caused by changes in the source and/or destination IP address of packets. Mobile communication devices periodically update their positions to a server, which can send a notification when a mobile communication device comes within range. Further, mobile communication devices can encapsulate packets with an IP address used for direct wireless communication to facilitate this direct wireless communication without disrupting traffic over a core network.

  • Patent number: 9967895
Abstract: Provided is a wireless transmission system including a plurality of access points and an access controller. The access controller determines a start standard time for a polling period for the plurality of access points to perform polling communication with a plurality of wireless terminals. The access controller generates a scheduling setting information indicating timings when the plurality of access points perform polling communication with the plurality of wireless terminals during the polling period. The access controller transmits, to each of the plurality of access points, a polling period start signal including the start standard time and a corresponding portion of the scheduling setting information for each of the plurality of access points. The plurality of access points perform polling communication with the plurality of wireless terminals based on respective polling period start signals.

In another design, the UE may generate a proximity detection signal occupying at least one resource block based on an OFDMA modulation technique. The UE may generate SC-FDMA symbols or OFDMA symbols in different manners for different physical channels. In yet another design, the UE may generate a proximity detection signal including a primary synchronization signal and a secondary synchronization signal. For all designs, the UE may transmit the proximity detection signal to indicate its presence and to enable other UEs to detect the UE.

  • Patent number: 9967191
Abstract: In one embodiment, a receiver device determines that it accepts flow entropy, and accordingly determines a set of entropy labels the receiver device is accepting. After transmitting the set of entropy labels from the receiver device to one or more sender devices, the receiver device may then receive packets from the one or more sender devices with selected particular entropy labels from the set of entropy labels. In another embodiment, a sender device receives from a receiver device a set of entropy labels the receiver device is accepting. As such, when determining a packet to forward to the receiver device with flow entropy, the sender device may select a particular entropy label from the set of entropy labels for that receiver device, and transmits the packet device to the receiver device with the selected particular entropy label.

  • Patent number: 9948431
Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to managing a soft buffer for decoding hybrid automatic repeat/request (HARQ) based transmissions in wireless communications. A legacy soft buffer size of a legacy soft buffer can be determined for decoding HARQ based transmissions in legacy communications, where the legacy communications are based on a first transmission time interval (TTI) of a first duration. Ultra low latency (ULL) communications can be received, where the ULL communications are based on a second TTI that is less than the first duration. A ULL soft buffer size for a ULL soft buffer for decoding HARQ based transmissions in the ULL communications can be determined. Contents of the ULL soft buffer can be managed based at least in part on the ULL soft buffer size.

  • Patent number: 9930686
Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for scheduling multiple concurrent transmissions during a contention access period in a wireless communications network are presented. Aspects of the system comprise communicating devices (DEVs) within a piconet that are operable to derive a neighborhood map of a piconet. The neighborhood map information may enable a plurality of DEVs to concurrently transmit signals during a given channel time allocation (CTA) time slot. The ability for multiple DEVs to transmit signals concurrently during a single CTA time slot may increase spectral reuse within a wireless communication medium. In another aspect the system, the neighborhood map information may enable individual DEVs to set clear channel assessment (CCA) thresholds. Individual DEVs may utilize CCA threshold information to determine when to transmit signals to one or more destination DEVs and/or at what rate to transmit data via the signals.
