  • Patent number: 11514453
Abstract: The invention relates generally to the provisioning of payment instruments onto electronic devices such as a mobile telephone, tablet, laptop or wearable, and in particular to securely provisioning payment instrument for which authorisation for the provisioning must be provided by a payment instrument issuer. A first embodiment is provided in which data that is generated during a transaction is received by an electronic device and transmitted from the electronic device to a server associated with an acquirer. The data received from the electronic device is compared to the data generated during the transaction and, if these match, provisioning is authorised. A second embodiment is provided in which a server associated with an acquirer generates an identification message that is separate from but based on a response message associated with a transaction, and provisioning is authorised or declined based on the identification message.

  • Patent number: 11501273
Abstract: A method for processing a transaction includes receiving, at a terminal and from a user, a selection of a service provider; receiving authentication credential requirements associated with the selected service provider that facilitate authentication of the user by the service provider; and communicating, to the service provider account server, authentication credentials associated with the user that satisfy the authentication credential requirements. When the user is authenticated, the method includes receiving, from the service provider account server, information indicative of an amount owed on an account with the service provider that is associated with the user. The method further includes receiving, via currency processing hardware of the terminal, currency; and communicating transaction information to the service provider account server that indicates an amount of currency received by the terminal to thereby reduce the amount owed on the account by the user.

  • Patent number: 11488169
Abstract: A method includes a marketplace server establishing one or more security parameters for an exchange item and securely providing the one or more security parameters to a user computing device of the data communication system. When the user computing device desires to use the exchange item, the method further includes generating, by the user computing device, first dynamically secure exchange item data. The method further includes the marketplace server receiving the first dynamically secure exchange item data from the user computing device, generating second dynamically secure exchange item data, and comparing the first dynamically secure exchange item data with the second dynamically secure exchange item data. When the first dynamically secure exchange item data substantially matches the second dynamically secure exchange item data, the method further includes authorizing, by the marketplace server, the use of the exchange item by the user computing device.

  • Patent number: 11481741
Abstract: Described is a technology for facilitating money transfer between a sender and a recipient by use of a payment proxy associated with the recipient. The technology enables a sender, who desires to send cash to a recipient, using an application (e.g., a payment service application, a messaging application, etc.), to specify the recipient by inputting, in a message being created using the application, one or more alphanumeric characters and a monetary currency indicator prefixing the alphanumeric characters (e.g., $alex). The monetary currency indicator operates as a tagging mechanism that indicates to a computer system, receiving the message, to treat the input(s) as a request from the sender to transfer cash, wherein detection of a specified syntax, which includes the alphanumeric character tagged by a monetary currency indicator, triggers a transfer of cash.

  • Patent number: 11455604
Abstract: In some examples, a financial transaction is effectuated between first and second users of a payment service system. The payment service system receives, from the first user, a request for a first payment proxy identifier for the first user, and receives from the second user, a request for a second payment proxy identifier for the second user. The payment service system generates the payment proxy identifiers with a currency indicator prefixing one or more alphanumeric characters. The payment proxy identifiers enable the payment service system to identify the financial accounts of the respective users in lieu of payment card mechanisms. The payment service system receives a message from the second user indicating a money transfer request, initiates a transfer of funds from an account of the second user to an account of the first user, and sends an email message to the first user indicating the transfer of funds.

  • Patent number: 11449858
Abstract: A method in a system comprising at least one portable data carrier, an authentication server and at least one reading device of at least one service provider which is couplable to the authentication server. The data carrier is adapted to communicate contactlessly with the reading device and comprises a security marking which can be read contactlessly by the reading device and on the basis of which the data carrier can be authenticated by the authentication server. The method comprises the step of equipping the data carrier with a data-carrier management marking that encodes a piece of data-carrier management information and readable contactlessly by a portable terminal. The method includes contactlessly reading out the data-carrier management marking by a portable terminal, transferring the data-carrier management information encoded in the data-carrier management marking to the authentication server, and managing the data carrier in the system employing the data-carrier management information.

  • Patent number: 11449930
Abstract: Techniques to display trading assets in a preferred currency are described. According to one aspect of the present invention, a three-tier architecture is presented and includes a brokerage, a market exchange and a currency exchange. Through a consolidated trading platform, the brokerage presents all price, quotas, transactions or settlements in a preferred currency, in conjunction with the market exchange and the currency exchange. As a result, a trader always knows exactly what he/she may end up with a transaction of an asset, where a prevailing exchange rate is obtained prior to a transaction to prevent uncertainty in currency exchanges in another time.

  • Patent number: 11449852
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for use in facilitating network transactions. In connection therewith, a server receives a request from an application of a requestor mobile device and polls sender mobile devices for location data, where a subset of the sender mobile devices is within a defined distance of the requestor mobile device. The server then receives a response from one of the subset of sender mobile devices and presents the response to the application of the requestor mobile device. Upon acceptance of the response, the server transmits the acceptance to the sender mobile device, thereby enabling delivery of an amount requested to a requestor user associated with the requestor mobile device in exchange for a digital transaction from an account of the requestor user to an account of a sender user associated with the sender mobile device.
