  • Patent number: 9800922
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to social media and recordation of programs scheduled to be broadcast. Media content on one or more sites are gathered and characteristic data, such as associated tags, are extracted. A correlation of the media content with scheduled television programming is performed to identify any television programs that are related to the extracted content. In response to at least one match, a television program associated with the match is selected for a scheduled recording so that it may be viewed at a later point in time.

  • Patent number: 9794644
Abstract: A main stream contains successive content elements of video and/or audio information that encode video and/or audio information at a first data rate. A computation circuit (144) computes main fingerprints from the successive content elements. A reference stream is received having a second data rate lower than the first data rate. The reference stream defines a sequence of the reference fingerprints. A comparator unit (144) compares the main fingerprints with the reference fingerprints. The main, stream is monitored for the presence of inserted content elements between original content elements, where the original content elements have main fingerprints that match successive reference fingerprints and the inserted content elements have main fingerprints that do not match reference fingerprints. Rendering of inserted content elements to be skipped. In an embodiment when more than one content element matches only one is rendered.

  • Patent number: 9773295
Abstract: In a device and a corresponding method for joining a plurality of individual digital images to form a total image, a plurality of features is determined in a first individual image by means of a selection unit using a feature-based algorithm and then tracked in a second individual image by means of a tracking unit. A transformation matrix, with which the individual images are joined in an output unit to form the total image, is calculated from the determined feature correspondences in a transformation unit. The individual images can be joined in real time and with a high degree of accuracy by means of the feature-based algorithm in combination with a robust algorithm to calculate the transformation matrix.

  • Patent number: 9773152
Abstract: A light guiding structure for fingerprint recognizing sheet is adapted between a circuit board and a protecting sheet for encompassing an image capture device. The light guiding structure includes a frame, side-emitting LEDs, and a light guiding sheet. The middle portion of the frame is defined as a hollowed portion. Conductive pairs are located on the frame and extended out of the frame to form a first contact and a second contact. The side-emitting LEDs are assembled to the frame and electrically connected to the conductive pairs. The light guiding sheet covers on the hollowed portion. The side-emitting LEDs are assembled around the periphery of the light guiding sheet. The light guiding structure can be directly assembled on the circuit board and encompass the image capture device, and therefore an electronic device can be provided with a fingerprint recognizing sheet having the light guiding structure.

  • Patent number: 9762846
Abstract: Various technologies described herein pertain to creation of an output hyper-lapse video from an input video. Values indicative of overlaps between pairs of frames in the input video are computed. A value indicative of an overlap between a pair of frames can be computed based on a sparse set of points from each of the frames in the pair. Moreover, a subset of the frames from the input video are selected based on the values of the overlaps between the pairs of the frames in the input video and a target frame speed-up rate. Further, the output hyper-lapse video is generated based on the subset of the frames. The output hyper-lapse video can be generated without a remainder of the frames of the input video other than the subset of the frames.

  • Patent number: 9734644
Abstract: A security system permits limited access into a building for authorized visitors. The security system includes an access interface pad installable at a building entryway and a camera device releasably secured to the access interface pad with an anchor. The anchor allows the camera device to detach from the access interface pad in response building access being authorized by the security system so that an authorized visitor can wear the camera device while in the secured building. The security system can both communicate with a remote device so that data captured by the camera can be transmitted to a user in real time and automatically analyze information from the camera with respect to certain security parameters.

  • Patent number: 9710709
Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking a subject using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are disclosed. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) includes an onboard camera to capture/stream multiple images. An onboard visual recognition module isolates image elements by analyzing the captured images, and determines whether the image elements correspond or do not correspond to the subject. Current image elements corresponding to a subject are stored in a positive database, and non-corresponding current image elements are stored in a negative database. An onboard subject tracking module defines the chosen subject, determines attributes of the subject based on comparisons of image elements, and follows the subject by directing the attitude control system to adjust the velocity and orientation of the UAV based on the determined attributes.

  • Patent number: 9681088
Abstract: A processing server that builds metadata is disclosed. The server comprises a processor, a memory, and an application stored in the memory. The application when executed by the processor formats data into a data container, wherein the data comprises audio and video files of a movie. The application then builds metadata, wherein the metadata details what post-processing has been done on the data, wherein the metadata identifies what processing and algorithms are applied to the data and supports selection of data by a playback device. The application then writes metadata into the data container, wherein the playback device applies additional post-processing to the data in the data container based on the metadata.

  • Patent number: 9667937
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are described for auto-summarizing video and/or audio content. In some embodiments, a summary server might retrieve one or more time codes from a time code database, and might analyze the one or more time codes to determine at least one selected time code among the one or more time codes that exceeds a predetermined number of selections. The one or more time codes might correspond to one or more triggers, which might include user-inputted triggers, triggers associated with actions by a live audience, or broadcaster/distributor/producer-provided triggers (i.e., cue tones). The summary server might determine one or more selected segments of video or audio content corresponding to the at least one selected time code, and might create one or more summary tracks, where each of the one or more summary tracks might comprise each of the one or more selected segments of the video or audio content.

  • Patent number: 9667939
Abstract: A depth map generating unit generates depth information indicating the depth of a subject in each pixel of frames of a moving image. An additional information generating unit generates additional information regarding a change between continuous frames. A reading and writing unit writes a depth map and the additional information on the recording medium and reads the depth map and the additional information from the recording medium. A depth map correcting unit corrects the depth map read by the reading and writing unit based on the additional information read by the reading and writing unit. The reading and writing unit performs overwriting with the depth map corrected by the depth map correcting unit on the recording medium. The present technology is applicable to an image processing apparatus that generates depth information indicating a sense of depth of a stereoscopic image.

  • Patent number: 9666232
Abstract: Video and corresponding metadata is accessed. Events of interest within the video are identified based on the corresponding metadata, and best scenes are identified based on the identified events of interest. In one example, best scenes are identified based on the motion values associated with frames or portions of a frame of a video. Motion values are determined for each frame and portions of the video including frames with the most motion are identified as best scenes. Best scenes may also be identified based on the motion profile of a video. The motion profile of a video is a measure of global or local motion within frames throughout the video. For example, best scenes are identified from portion of the video including steady global motion. A video summary can be generated including one or more of the identified best scenes.
