Abstract: Various exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure relate to method and an apparatus a broadcast receiver for a conditional access system (CAS) information download. The CAS information download method includes acquiring broadcast provider information. The method also includes, selecting a broadcast provider based on the broadcast provider information. The method further includes, transmitting a subscription request including identity information of the broadcast reception device to a broadcast provider server of the selected broadcast provider. The method also includes, downloading CAS information from a CAS server.

Abstract: There is provided an image processing apparatus which comprises a receiver which receives primary image content; a communicator which communicates with at least one supply source which supplies related image content of the primary image content; a signal processor which processes and outputs the primary image content; and a controller which controls the communicator to request the supply source to supply the related image content, and controls the signal processor to process and play the related image content supplied from the supply source in response to the request if a user selects a key to play the related image content of the primary image content while the primary image content received by the receiver is processed by the signal processor.

Abstract: Techniques to provide content based on detected ambient media are disclosed. In various embodiments, a set of audio features extracted from audio data associated with an audio environment with which a client device is associated are received from the client device. A stored media signature data generated based on media content data from a source other than the client device is used to detect, based at least in part on the set of audio features, a media channel and program that is being played in the audio environment. A secondary content that is selected based at least in part on a semantic content data associated with the detected media channel and program is provided.

Abstract: Aspects of methods and systems for frequency multiplexing suitable for Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) are provided. A system for multiplexing signals according to frequency comprises a DOCSIS port interface, an upstream interface, a downstream interface, and a circulator subsystem. The DOCSIS port interface comprises a plurality of channel filters. The upstream interface is operably coupled to a first channel filter of the plurality of channel filters, and the downstream interface is operably coupled to a second channel filter of the plurality of channel filters. The circulator subsystem is able to direct a first signal from the upstream interface to the DOCSIS port interface and is able to direct a second signal from the DOCSIS port interface to the downstream interface.

Abstract: A method of providing advertising from a central database server connected to a global computer network to distributed sites via interactive television. A representative icon is presented to a subscriber on a television screen indicating an advertisement. When the icon is selected, an advertisement information detail is retrieved from storage in a local memory, or from the central database server and presented to the subscriber on the television screen.

Abstract: Methods, systems and devices to stream media content are described. A user interface is presented to a user via a media device. When the media device has determined that an interaction with the user interface has occurred (e.g., the user has begun scrolling through a list, or has performed a keyword search), the media device requests, from a media content source, a subset of first media content based on the interaction with the user interface and prior to selection of the first media content via the user interface. The subset of first media content is then displayed in response to the selection of the first media content.

Abstract: A media fingerprint archive system generates and archives media fingerprints from second media content portions such as commercials. A downstream media measurement system can extract/derive query fingerprints from an incoming signal, and query the media fingerprint archive system whether any of the query fingerprints matches any archived fingerprints. If so, the media measurement system can perform media measurements on a specific secondary media content portion from which the matched query fingerprint is derived. If not, the media measurement system can analyze media characteristics of a media content portion to determine whether the media content portion is a secondary media content portion and perform media measurement if needed to. The media measurement system may send fingerprints from an identified secondary media content portion to the media fingerprint archive system for storage.

Abstract: Digital video data and digital multiple-audio data are extracted from a source, using a hardware processor in a content source device within a premises. The extracted digital video data is processed for display on a main display device in the premises; and the extracted digital multiple-audio data is processed into a primary soundtrack in a primary language, to be listened to within the premises in synchronization with the displayed extracted digital video data. The primary soundtrack corresponds to the displayed extracted digital video data, in the primary language. The extracted digital multiple-audio data is processed into at least one secondary audio asset, different than the primary soundtrack; and the at least one secondary audio asset is transmitted to a personal media device within the premises, for apprehension by a user of the personal media device in synchronization with the displayed extracted digital video data.

An example method can comprise monitoring a number of users accessing content, and recording a first segment of the content if the number of users accessing the content reaches a threshold value. A second segment of the content can be recorded based on a request to record the second segment of the content, and at least a portion of the recording of the first segment of the content can be associated with the recording of the second segment of the content.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an information processing device and method for adaptively supplying data of partial images. The information processing device includes: a partial image information generation unit configured to generate partial image information which is information regarding each partial image which is a part of an entire image; and a metadata generation unit configured to generate metadata to be used for supply of a bit stream of the entire image and supply of a bit stream of the partial image using the partial image information generated by the partial image information generation unit. For example, the present disclosure can be applied to an information processing device that performs a process for adaptively supplying image data.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for analyzing images or video using computer vision. Media items, including images or videos, are retrieved from one or more media channels, such as social media network services, streaming media networks, or broadcast networks. A media item is identified that depicts a object associated with a sponsor. A media cost equivalent is determined that is associated with the media item as distributed by the media channels. Using computer vision, a percentage is determined for the media cost equivalent. The percentage is determined based at least in part on at least one of size, clarity, duration or position of the sponsor object or another object in the media item. A sponsor valuation is calculated based at least in part on the media cost equivalent adjusted by the percentage.

Abstract: There are described methods and systems for distributing content in a network, in particular a multicast network. One method includes delivering content from a source to a destination in a content delivery network. A request for an item of content is received and a first multicast stream is identified or established, the first multicast stream comprising a first copy of the content. At least one second multicast stream is also identified or established, the second stream comprising a second copy of the content. The second copy of the content is time-shifted by a time, M, from corresponding portions of the first copy of the content. The content is then delivered to the destination using both the first and the second multicast streams.

Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can send a priming command to a media application to cause the media application to load media items and media item metadata into memory associated with the media application. The computing device can predict a media application that is likely to be invoked by a user. The computing device can launch the media application. The computing device can send the priming command to the media application to cause the media application to prepare media items for playback or presentation to the user. After the media application loads the media items, the computing device can receive metadata associated with the loaded media items and present the metadata and appropriate media application controls on a display of the computing device.

Abstract: Various embodiments describe view switching of video on a computing device. In an example, a video processing application receives a stream of video data. The video processing application renders a major view on a display of the computing device. The major view presents a video from the stream of video data. The video processing application inputs the stream of video data to a deep learning system and receives back information that identifies a cropped video from the video based on a composition score of the cropped video, while the video is presented in the major view. The composition score is generated by the deep learning system. The video processing application renders a sub-view on a display of the device, the sub-view presenting the cropped video. The video processing application renders the cropped video in the major view based on a user interaction with the sub-view.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for augmenting video data based on automated identification of one or more objects depicted in the video data. One or more classification models may identify an object of interest in video data. An aggregated duration count may be maintained that reflects a length of time that the object of interest has been depicted in the video data. This duration or additional metric data derived in part from the duration may be displayed in association with display of the video data and continuously updated during playback of the video data.
