  • Patent number: 11184843
Abstract: The embodiments in this invention extend distributed unit (DU), central unit (CU) and control plane of F1 (F1-C) capabilities so that differentiated DRBs of F1-U are placed on differentiated transport network components of equivalent QoS. This is achieved by a transport-aware DU and CU that can map each F1-U DRB into appropriate OSI layer 2-4 headers and can, subsequently, store such mappings. The F1-C interface is extended to distribute the layer 2-4 headers acquired from the transport network controller to the DUs and CU. A new control interface TN-C is defined between transport network controller and CU/DU. Furthermore, a trivial mapping of those embodiments is applicable for the N3 interface as well, which solves the same problem on the backhaul transport network.

  • Patent number: 11166168
Abstract: A wireless communication system having base stations and remotely located terminal units. The base stations and the remotely located terminal units communicate data over operational wireless communication links assigned to respective sub-channels having tiles separated by frequency and time. Detectors for analysing extraneous received signals in unassigned tiles of the communication links discriminate between a first type of extraneous signals detected in unassigned tiles of one sub-frame and also detected in other unassigned tiles, and a second type of extraneous signals detected in the unassigned tiles but not detected in other unassigned tiles. The reaction of the base stations is different based on the type of extraneous signals.

  • Patent number: 11166199
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for dynamically modifying bandwidth allocation corresponding to a first radio access technology and a second radio access technology. A current allocation of channel bandwidth corresponding to the first radio access technology and the second radio access technology is determined. One or more radio frequency conditions associated with a base station may be monitored, which could include loading at a particular cell site or sector and/or user devices that have a guaranteed bit rate. Based on monitoring of the radio frequency conditions, the current allocation of the channel bandwidth corresponding to the first radio access technology and the second radio access technology is dynamically modified to a different allocation of channel bandwidth corresponding to the first radio access technology and the second radio access technology.

  • Patent number: 11140081
Abstract: According to one aspect disclosed herein, a system can include a set of node peers, including a first subset implemented in software and a second subset implemented in hardware. The first subset can include a software node. The second subset can include a hardware node that includes a hardware cache, a processor, and a memory that stores computer-executable instructions. The hardware node can receive, from a network, a packet, and can determine if data that identifies a path associated with the packet is stored in the hardware cache. If not, the hardware node can query the software node to identify the path associated with the packet, and can receive, in response from the software node, the data that identifies the path, which then can be stored in the hardware cache. The hardware node can forward, along the path, the packet to a network element.

  • Patent number: 11051237
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described herein for reducing overhead in a probe request and probe response message exchange used in wireless networks. An access point (AP) may receive a first signal from a station (STA). The first signal may include a probe request message that includes an identification of the STA. The AP may determine that the STA is not currently associated with the AP and has not been associated with the AP within a predetermined time using a stored STA information table. The AP may generate a probe response message upon determining that a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of the first signal is above a predetermined threshold. The AP may then transmit a second signal to the STA. The second signal may include the probe response message.
