Abstract: The present disclosure provides a computerized method for item distribution, including retrieving, from a data structure, an inventory of a SKU at each of a plurality of destinations; determining a buffer of each of the destinations; determining an average buffer across the destinations; identifying at least one high utilization destination and at least one low utilization destination based on differences from the average buffer; and redistributing a network inventory by, iteratively and for each of the high utilization destinations: finding, in the data structure, a low utilization destination having a common attribute with the high utilization destination; and sending, to a user device for display, an instruction to transfer a redistribution quantity of the SKU from the low utilization destination to the high utilization destination.

Abstract: A user undertakes an event, such as adding, removing, or otherwise interacting with an item stowed at a fixture. Using successive samples of weight data that occur during an event, a plurality of vectors are generated that are indicative of a weight change and a location associated with the fixture. The vectors are processed to determine where within the fixture the event took place. Hypotheses are generated that describe predicted interactions involving predicted locations that correspond to those indicated by the vectors. The hypotheses are ranked and then one is selected as a solution. The predicted values associated with the selected hypothesis are then used to generate interaction data that indicates one or more types of item and quantities of the items that were added, removed, or otherwise handled by the user.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an information processing network based on uniform code issuance, a method for the same, and a sensing access device, wherein a releaser sends a corresponding code issuing request to a core administrator, such that the core administrator or a code issuing agency authorized by the core administrator generates a coding medium; in this way, when an accessing party identifies the coding medium with an equipped sensing access device, it may obtain information that matches the identified coding medium and further obtain the following information provided by the releaser, including: information to be released by the releaser, attribute state of the releaser, attribute state of an interacting party associated with the releaser, and information obtained from identifying other coding medium with the sensing access device equipped to the releaser.

Abstract: Described are systems and techniques configured to provide a user interface for an unauthenticated user of a materials handling facility. A transient profile indicative of one or more user preferences may be created and associated with the unauthenticated user. As the unauthenticated user interacts with the facility, preferences may be determined and included in the transient profile. Subsequent operation of the facility may take into account the transient profile. As the unauthenticated user moves throughout the facility, the transient profile may “follow” them, providing an ongoing user experience. Should the unauthenticated user later be authenticated, the transient preferences may be incorporated into a persistent profile.

Abstract: Facilitating transaction status indications for point-of-sale (POS) systems is described. A POS application stored on a POS terminal of a POS system may communicate with a payment reader device coupled to the POS terminal and a payment server application. The POS application may receive, from a customer device associated with a customer and via a short-range communication network, payment information for satisfying a cost of a transaction. The POS application may send the payment information to the payment server application to attempt to authorize the payment information for the cost of the transaction and may receive, from the payment server application, an indication of a status of the transaction. Responsive to receiving the indication of the status of the transaction, the payment reader device and the customer device may output respective aspects of a transaction status indication associated with the status of the transaction.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for processing and completing food orders placed by consumers using food ordering services. A method can include providing menu items to user devices for display to consumers, receiving orders from user devices before delivery of the orders, processing each order to generate a delivery address and an ordered menu item, assigning a kitchen to prepare an ordered menu item based on kitchen proximity to the delivery address of, determining if an ingredient of an ordered menu item is understocked in the kitchen, ordering, with a purveyor, understocked ingredients, forwarding instructions to prepare an ordered menu item to a device of the kitchen, grouping the ordered menu items into cohorts based on proximity of the addresses relative to each other, assigning the cohorts to delivery workers, and providing delivery routes for the cohorts to delivery worker devices. The method can be performed within seconds and for many kitchens.

Abstract: An application executed at a user terminal with a touch screen displays, on the touch screen, a UI in which a user-side UI for accepting a touch operation by a user and a store-side UI for accepting a touch operation by a staff member of a store are placed, as a settlement UI for settlement of a currency amount of a digital local currency. The application judges whether time during which the touch operation on the user-side UI and the touch operation on the store-side UI are simultaneously continued has reached a specified period of time or not. If the judgment result is true, the application displays a settlement completion notice on the touch screen.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes tracking usage history of a plurality of components of one or more products. An original set of announcements about the one or more products is received, where the original set of announcements includes a plurality of announcement records. The plurality of announcement records are prioritized based on the usage history of the plurality of components. A usage-based set of announcements is generated based on the prioritization of the plurality of announcement records.

Abstract: A data management device includes a network interface, a memory storing first and second databases, and a processor. The processor determines whether a customer identifier has been included in receipt data. When the identifier is included, the receipt data is stored in both databases. When the identifier is not included, receipt data is stored in the second database. The processor searches the first database for receipt data including a customer's identifier upon request and controls the interface to transmit the receipt data found by the search to the customer terminal. If a search request is received from a server, the second database is searched for receipt data that satisfies a search condition accompanying the request, and then receipt found in the search is transmitted to the server.

Abstract: This invention discloses a novel system and method and system for sharing a data item among a plurality of computers connected in an arbitrary network topology. In the preferred embodiment, each of the plurality of computers has a local copy of the data item, but can only edit the copy by obtaining a token from the current token owner, thereby becoming a new current token owner. When the token owner makes a change to the data item, the change is broadcast to the other computers, along with the identity of the new current token owner. Routing of token requests and broadcasts is accomplished by means of each computer calculating a routing table based on information it receives from those computers to which it is directly connected on the network.

Abstract: Among other things, product data is repeatedly communicated from an application on a device associated with a retail location to a server of a platform controlled independently of the application on the device. The product data identifies (a) current numbers of units of products available for retail customers at the retail location and (b) purchasing behavior of retail customers of the retail location with respect to combinations of the products. The retail location is repeatedly restocked with additional units of products to maintain the products in an in-stock state, the additional units have been received in deliveries made from one or more upstream product distribution entities based on predictions facilitated by the server of future demand for the products by retail customers of the retail location.

Abstract: Disclosed are various approaches for issuing Department of Defense (DoD) transaction accounts and approving payments with the DoD transaction accounts. A first computing device receives a request from a second computing device for a Department of Defense (DoD) transaction account, the request comprising a DoD identifier. The first computing device then verifies the DoD identifier and issues a new DoD transaction account associated with the DoD identifier in response.

Abstract: A walk-through gate is provided. The walk-through gate includes a first semi-transparent side wall and a second semi-transparent side wall encapsulating a walk-through gate volume having an ingress portion and an egress portion. The walk-through gate further includes a plurality of antennas for wirelessly receiving product identifiers for wireless checkout. At least one of the plurality of antennas is made of a semi-transparent conductive material.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and articles of manufacture for an internal private online marketplace are presented. Some embodiments described herein may include a method which may involve (1) identifying one or more items listed in one or more databases, and (2) generating a transfer protocol between the destination entity that desires to possess the one or more items with that of the source entity that possesses or has responsibility over the one or more items. The desired items may be identified by characteristics. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of using cryptocurrency to transact fiat currency purchases using conventional POS apparatus includes funding by a user of a cryptocurrency account that requires withdrawal transactions to be signed by both the user and a payment platform. Upon purchase initiation, a platform-issued authorization number is entered into a merchant's POS apparatus and transmitted to the platform. Upon verification of sufficient cryptocurrency, the platform transmits payment information to the user, and upon approval thereof by the user, the user transmits a user-signed cryptocurrency transaction to the platform, and the platform remits fiat currency to the merchant. As purchases continue during an aggregation period, each user-signed transaction is sufficient to fund the aggregated purchases. Upon termination of the aggregation period, the most recent user-signed transaction is executed to withdraw cryptocurrency from the user's account.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for enabling merchant devices to interoperate with one another in a more robust manner, such that overall operation and efficiency within a merchant establishment is improved. For instance, the techniques described herein may enable the intelligent routing of requests between devices within the merchant establishment based on real-time locations of the devices, which devices are associated with which orders, and the like.

Abstract: Systems, devices and methods directed to operation of a point of sale (PoS) device during network connectivity to a cloud server, as well as during network outages and/or interruptions. The POS device can process transactions in a seamless manner even during network outages and/or interruptions. A POS application that runs on a POS device in an “online” mode can automatically detect an interruption in network connectivity, and switch to an “offline” mode. In the offline mode, the POS device can continue to process transactions and/or conduct other activities.

Abstract: In this application, a terminal transaction method and a terminal are provided and used to resolve a problem existing in the prior art that an NFC application does not match a type of a POS, and there is relatively poor user experience. The method includes: establishing, by a terminal, a near field communication NFC radio frequency connection to a point of sale POS, and starting up a first transaction; and selecting, by the terminal, a first NFC application corresponding to the POS, and performing the first transaction when a use condition of the first NFC application is already satisfied.
