  • Patent number: 9251808
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a speaker clustering apparatus includes a clustering unit, an extraction unit, and an error detection unit. The clustering unit is configured to extract acoustic features for speakers from an acoustic signal, and to cluster utterances included in the acoustic signal into the speakers by using the acoustic features. The extraction unit is configured to acquire character strings representing contents of the utterances, and to extract linguistic features of the speakers by using the character strings. The error detection unit is configured to decide that, when one of the character strings does not fit with a linguistic feature of a speaker into which an utterance of the one is clustered, the utterance is erroneously clustered by the clustering unit.

  • Patent number: 9179302
Abstract: A Candidate Isolation System (CIS) detects subscribers of phone call services as candidates to be surveillance targets. A Voice Matching System (VMS) then decides whether or not a given candidate Communication Terminals (CTs) should be tracked by determining, using speaker recognition techniques, whether the subscriber operating the candidate CT is a known target subscriber. The CIS receives from the network call event data that relate to CTs in the network. The CIS detects candidate CTs using a unique candidate isolation process, which applies predefined selection criteria to the received call events data.

  • Patent number: 9177552
Abstract: Methods and systems for setting selected automatic speech recognition parameters are described. A data set associated with operation of a speech recognition application is defined and includes: i. recognition states characterizing the semantic progression of a user interaction with the speech recognition application, and ii. recognition outcomes associated with each recognition state. For a selected user interaction with the speech recognition application, an application cost function is defined that characterizes an estimated cost of the user interaction for each recognition outcome. For one or more system performance parameters indirectly related to the user interaction, the parameters are set to values which optimize the cost of the user interaction over the recognition states.
