  • Patent number: 6705820
Abstract: The problems of how to safely load and unload a small vehicle into a truck bed, and how to transport any ramps, etc., used to load the vehicle, and/or any other cargo in the truck bed occupied by the vehicle, are addressed by providing a carrier/lift adapted to be mounted in a truck bed, and having a carrying platform that pivots and translate in a constrained manner along a pair of tracks to an inclined loading position for safe and convenient loading of the vehicle into the bed of a truck. A platform having a recess for storage of a pair of nestable loading ramps is disclosed. The platform can be supported above the floor of a truck bed to provide usable storage space in the bed of the truck between the platform, with the nested ramps stowed therein, and the floor of the truck bed.

  • Patent number: 6692213
Abstract: Fastener delivery apparatus for automatically selecting and delivering fasteners such as rivets to a setting tool. The fasteners are pre-loaded in a package and dispense via at least one fastener delivery tube that interconnects the setting tool to a fastener feeder device. The fastener feeder device releases selected fasteners from the package into the delivery tube. The fasteners are transportable individually or in groups in the tube from the feeder device to the tool. A transfer station attached to the tool or the delivery tube transfers a fastener from the delivery apparatus into the tool, the transfer station being moveable between a first position in which an exit of the transfer station is adjacent to the tool so that a delivered fastener may be inserted by the transfer station into the tool and a second position in which it is clear of the tool so as to permit the tool or a portion thereof to move towards a workpiece to insert a loaded fastener. The delivery tube has wear resistant elements.

  • Patent number: 6679671
Abstract: A magnetic drive system for moving a substrate transfer shuttle along a linear path between chambers in a semiconductor fabrication apparatus. A rack with rack magnets is secured to the shuttle, and a rotatable pinion with pinion magnets is positioned adjacent the rack so that the pinion magnets can magnetically engage the rack magnets. Thus, rotation of the pinion will cause the shuttle to move along the linear path. The magnets may be oriented with a helix angle between their primary axis and the axis of rotation of the pinion. One rack and one pinion are located on each side of the shuttle. A set of lower guide rollers supports the shuttle, and a set of upper guide rollers prevents the shuttle from lifting off the lower guide rollers.

  • Patent number: 6676357
Abstract: An arcuate structure for bulk particulate solids which has inner and outer concentric containment walls. The space between the inner and outer walls is subdivided into a plurality of storage subspaces, and covered with a continuous roof. A radial stacker conveyor system receives particulate solids to be stored, and transfers these particulate solids into a selected storage space through access apertures disposed on a circular arc in the roof. To allow the radial stacker to access each roof aperture, it is rotatable about an axis concentric with the inner and outer walls, and the roof apertures are located on an arc concentric with the inner and outer walls. A separate radially located conveyor system is provided beneath the floor of each storage space, by means of which particulate solid stored in any chosen storage subspace can be retrieved through discharge gates located in the floor of each storage space above the conveyor, and transported to a delivery system adjacent to the radial stacker.

  • Patent number: 6666643
Abstract: A frame with a pair of primary tracks is positioned on a vehicle. A platform is connected by a plurality of flexible ties to a like plurality of hangers which travel along the primary tracks. An elevator mechanism winds the flexible ties onto reels to rise the platform toward the primary tracks and unwinds the flexible ties to lower the platform. Extension tracks can be removably aligned with the primary tracks to project beyond the vehicle. By moving the hangers onto the extension tracks, the platform can be removed from the vehicle and then lowered to the ground. The reverse process is employed to move the platform and objects thereon from the ground into the vehicle. The extension tracks with the hangers and platform attached thereto can be detached from the primary tracks and placed on a free standing frame to raise and lower the platform remote from the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6663332
Abstract: Installation for treatment of wafers in a reactor. To that end a series of wafers is placed in a wafer rack and fed into the reactor. Transport into and out of the reactor, which is sited in an enclosed chamber, takes place with the aid of conveyor means. The wafers are transferred from the wafer rack to one or more cassettes. During this operation the wafer rack is always in the vertical position, that is to say the wafers are horizontal. The same preferably also applies to the cassettes, so that the wafers remain horizontal throughout the entire process.
