  • Patent number: 11975742
Abstract: Methods of refining a planned trajectory of an autonomous vehicle are disclose. For multiple cycles as the vehicle moves along the trajectory, the vehicle will perceive nearby objects. The vehicle will use the perceived object data to calculate a set of candidate updated trajectories. The motion planning system will measure a discrepancy between each candidate updated trajectory and the current trajectory by: (i) determining waypoints along each trajectory; (ii) determining distances between at least some of the waypoints; and (iii) using the distances to measure the discrepancy between the updated trajectory and the current trajectory. The system will use the discrepancy to select, from the set of candidate updated trajectories, a final updated trajectory for the vehicle to follow.

  • Patent number: 11940801
Abstract: An automatically moving floor treatment appliance has an appliance housing, a drive, a detector for detecting surrounding area features, and a computer that transmits control commands to the drive, based on the surrounding area features detected by the detector. The detector has a plurality of inner and outer fall sensors arranged on an underside of the appliance housing, which detect a distance of the floor treatment appliance from the surface. The computer controls the drive to change a movement of the floor treatment appliance when the distance detected by the fall sensor is greater than a threshold value defining a slope. The fall sensors are interconnected in an evaluation circuit of the detection means so that the detection signals of the totality of inner fall sensors can be evaluated independently of the detection signals of the totality of outer fall sensors.

  • Patent number: 11926344
Abstract: An autonomous vehicle includes a sensor detecting an object in a vicinity of the autonomous vehicle, a processor coupled to the sensor to receive sensor data from the sensor, wherein the processor is configured to process the sensor data to recognize that the object is a pedestrian or cyclist. The processor cooperates with the sensor to track the pedestrian or cyclist. The processor determines if the pedestrian or cyclist satisfies a notification criterion and, upon determining that the pedestrian or cyclist satisfies the notification criterion, the processor outputs an illumination signal. A light projector receives the illumination signal and projects a beam of light onto a portion of a road on which the pedestrian or cyclist is currently situated to visually notify the pedestrian or cyclist that the autonomous vehicle is presently tracking the pedestrian or cyclist.

  • Patent number: 10737137
Abstract: A biofeedback belt system which serves as an alert belt with the ability to decrease stomach size as well as decrease the arch of a user-wearers lower back. The invention is designed for patients who have hyper lordosis conditions. The mechanism of the belt is based on biofeedback. When a user-wearer relaxes their abdominal region, the belt produces vibration or sound and the user-wearer must tighten their abdominal region to discontinue the vibration or noise. Biofeedback belt system can also work in a manner such that when the user-wearer tightens their abdominal region, the belt plays music or favorable vibration separately or together as encouragement. Over a period of time of tightening of the abdominal region on a regular basis, the abdominal region size decreases and abdomen strengthens.

  • Patent number: 10154448
Abstract: A wireless communication device includes a wireless transceiver to wirelessly receive and transmit radio frequency (RF) signals and sample a signal representative of the received RF signal over a predetermined time period. The receiver stores the sampled signal in a memory. After the predetermined time period, a processor, coupled to the wireless transceiver and the memory, concurrently searches the sampled signal for multiple communication signals each operating according to a corresponding one of multiple, different mobile communication standards. If one of the communication signals is found, the WCD attempts to connect wirelessly with a communication network from which the found communication signal originates.

  • Patent number: 10055917
Abstract: A convenience controller activates a small zone high precision welcoming detecting function (with high current utilization) in response to a detected arrival of an authorized user into a larger zone low precision approach region around a vehicle (with low current utilization). A short range transmitter broadcasts a polling signal covering the region. The short range transmitter has an approach pending mode wherein the polling signal is broadcast according to a first repetition and a baseline mode wherein the polling signal is broadcast according to a lower repetition. The short range transmitter has a first power drain in the approach pending mode. A wireless communication system is configured to monitor for user activity outside the approach region corresponding to proximity to the approach region. If the short range transmitter is in the baseline mode when the activity is detected, then the short range transmitter switches to the approach pending mode.

  • Patent number: 10051308
Abstract: A communication medium with fewer limitations on the directivity or available communication range, such as an IP network, is used to perform a remote control operation. Since two-way communication can be carried out between a remote controller and a device to be operated, it is possible to provide more reliable communication by means of a delivery confirmation, to handle a GUI-based complex command scheme, and to provide large-volume data transmission, such as moving-image streaming, using relatively broad bands. A television receiver to be operated by the remote controller distributes moving-image data, such as a child view, to an IP remote controller through an IP network so that the data can be viewed on the IP remote controller.
