  • Patent number: 9858735
Abstract: A convenience controller activates a small zone high location precision welcoming detecting function (with high current utilization) in response to a detected arrival of an authorized user into a larger zone low location precision welcoming detecting function (with low current utilization) approach region around a vehicle. A short range transmitter broadcasts a polling signal covering the region. The short range transmitter has an approach pending mode wherein the polling signal is broadcast according to a first predetermined repetition and a baseline mode wherein the polling signal is broadcast according to a lower repetition. The short range transmitter has a first power drain in the approach pending mode. A wireless communication system is configured to monitor for user activity outside the approach region corresponding to a potential user entry into the approach region, wherein monitoring by the wireless communication system has a lower power drain.

  • Patent number: 9854461
Abstract: A method for classifying a signal can be used by a station or stations within a network to classify the signal as non-cooperative (NC) or a target signal. The method performs classification over channels within a frequency spectrum. The percentage of power above a first threshold is computed for a channel. Based on the percentage, a signal is classified as a narrowband signal. If the percentage indicates the absence of a narrowband signal, then a lower second threshold is applied to confirm the absence according to the percentage of power above the second threshold. The signal is classified as a narrowband signal or pre-classified as a wideband signal based on the percentage. Pre-classified wideband signals are classified as a wideband NC signal or target signal using spectrum masks.

  • Patent number: 9819677
Abstract: A computer may identify an individual according to one or more biometrics based on various physiological aspects of the individual, such as metrics of various features of the face, gait, fingerprint, or voice of the individual. However, biometrics are often computationally intensive to compute, inaccurate, and unable to scale to identify an individual among a large set of known individuals. Therefore, the biometric identification of an individual may be supplemented by identifying one or more devices associated with the individual (e.g., a mobile phone, a vehicle driven by the individual, or an implanted medical device). When an individual is registered for identification, various device identifiers of devices associated with the individual may be stored along with the biometrics of the individual. Individuals may then be identified using both biometrics and detected device identifiers, thereby improving the efficiency, speed, accuracy, and scalability of the identification.

  • Patent number: 9802136
Abstract: A system and method is provided for using load data to control a feature in a model vehicle. In one embodiment of the present invention, a model vehicle includes a controller in communication with a remote control, a motor module, a smoke module, a sound module, and a memory device. While the model vehicle is operated under test conditions, calibration data is collected and stored in the memory device. While the model vehicle is operated under normal conditions, the controller receives a speed step instruction from the remote control and instructs the motor module to operate the motor at a corresponding speed. The data used to propel the model vehicle at the corresponding speed it then provided to the controller, where it is compared to the calibration data to identify a delta therebetween. The delta is then used by the controller to control, for example, the smoke and sound modules.

  • Patent number: 9800353
Abstract: A method for controlling an aggregated interference generated by at least two white space units in at least one point in space for at least one frequency channel is provided. A model of propagation channels from each of the white space units to each of the at least one point includes a variable with a lognormal distribution. The method comprises receiving requests for usage of white space frequency channels from the white space units. The requests include positions of the white space units. Output power limits are determined for the white space units by maximizing a utility function while fulfilling a probabilistic constraint on the amount of aggregated interference generated in each of the at least one point. A sum of lognormal variables in the probabilistic constraint is approximated by a single lognormal variable. The determined output power limits are then transmitted to the respective white space units.

  • Patent number: 9787415
Abstract: A method and apparatus for estimating and compensating TX LO leakage using circuitry on a loopback path connecting the transmitter and receiver are provided. The TX LO leakage may be estimated by measuring the DC signal on the receiver, measuring the phase difference between the received LO signal and the receiver LO signal, and filtering LO harmonics that may arise from the use of non-linear mixers. The DC signal on the receiver may be measured by opening and closing the loopback path, or changing the gain of the loopback path, or flipping the phase of looped back TX signal. The method may be used in an initialization or tracking calibration scheme.

  • Patent number: 9781252
Abstract: The invention provides an information processing method, system and a mobile terminal, which can detect a motion trajectory of the mobile terminal after the mobile terminal receives a call request, and execute a first process when the motion trajectory meets a preset condition. It can be seen that, in the invention, whether a user will answer the call request is determined by the judgment to the motion trajectory of the mobile terminal after the call request is received. After it is determined that the user will answer the call request, the processes, such as automatically answering the call request, closing a screen touching function of a touch screen, or adjusting screen brightness, can be executed, so that the user does not need to perform any manual operation, which on one hand, improves execution efficiency, and on the other hand, avoids a misoperation caused by a manual operation.
