  • Patent number: 4988268
Abstract: An air compressor comprises an air-compressing section and a pulsation-absorbing tank which are arranged isolated from each other, a nozzle, provided for one of the compressing section and the pulsation-absorbing tank, for supplying compressed air from the compressing section into the pulsation-absorbing tank, and a flexible nozzle seal provided for the other one of the compressing section and the pulsation-absorbing tank and having a hole in the center thereof. One end of the nozzle is inserted in the hole of the nozzle seal. With the nozzle inserted in the hole of the nozzle seal, the nozzle seal is applied with the pressure of the air contained in either the air compressing section or the pulsation-absorbing tank and is thus brought into light contact with the outer periphery of the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4984969
Abstract: A plunger tool is provided having a nose assembly to slow the descent of the tool into the well, a valve assembly, and a piston cylinder assembly. When the tool is dropped into the well, the gas and liquids in the well flow through restrictions in the nose assembly, thereby braking the fall. The fluid flows along a fingered collet which retains an angled valve. The fluid flows around the opened valve and out of the upper end of the plunger lift tool. The valve is connected to the piston which is exposed to ambient pressure on one side and a predetermined pressure on the other. Thus, the piston is set to close the valve at a predetermined pressure. As the pressure builds up, the piston moves the valve so that a lower portion of the valve is gripped by a detent mechanism, in this case collet fingers. When adequate pressure is built up to unsnap the valve, the piston forces the valve out of the detenting collet fingers and into its seat. Formation pressure from below the seal increases the sealing force.

  • Patent number: 4983105
Abstract: My invention is a down hole pump that operates on hydrostatic pressure. The mandrel is a tubular member having perforations therein. The expandable tube made of high quality plastic surrounds the hollow mandrel covering the perforations, thereby forming a means for communicating hydrostatic pressure existing within said hollow mandrel on an upstroke of said pump to expand the expandable tube. There is a plurality of special expandable rings which surround the expandable tube. The expandable tube causes the rings to expand radially with the expandable tube so as to maintain constant contact with the barrel. There is also a plurality of expandable spacers surrounding the expandable tube between each of the expandable rings which have a significantly smaller outside diameter than the expandable rings. There are also means provided to secure the expandable tube, rings and spacers to the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4983103
Abstract: A pump is adapted for discharging a very small quantity of a liquid and has a discharge port opening and shut valve, discharge element and liquid drawing passageway opening and shut valve. The discharge port opening and shut valve includes a rod-shaped element which can advance to and retract away from a discharge port. The tubular discharge element and opening and shut valves mate relatively movably with each other coaxially with the rod-shaped element on the cylindrical surface of the red-shaped element. The advancement of the discharge element discharges the liquid which has been introduced into the liquid drawing passageway and regulated by the opening and shut valves to a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 4975029
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for an internal combustion engine includes at least one pump piston movably disposed in a piston sleeve which piston sleeve is fitted in a pump housing. A first arrangement associated with the piston draws fuel through suction ports into a working chamber of the pump during a piston suction stroke. A second arrangement associated with the piston cuts off a connection to a suction side of the pump and thereafter initiates a delivery from the working chamber to an injection nozzle, which delivery is divided into two phases. The second arrangement is operable during a piston delivery stroke. A third arrangement controls the phases and includes the suction ports and an inside edge of the piston sleeve. The inside edge of the piston sleeve is provided on a planar end face of a guide bore of the sleeve and faces the working chamber.

  • Patent number: 4973229
Abstract: A driving rotary shaft is rotatably carried on a compressor body of a variable displacement compressor. On axial one side of a sleeve slidably carried on the driving rotary shaft, there is disposed a first spring of a displacement setting device for biasing the sleeve in one axial direction and holding a stopper, with which the sleeve is engageable, at a stop position on the driving rotary shaft. On the axial other side of the sleeve, there is disposed a second spring of the displacement setting device for biasing the sleeve in the other axial direction, the second spring being weaker than the first spring. At the starting of the compressor, the first spring holds the stopper at the stop position against a repulsive force of the second spring to hold the sleeve engaged with the stopper at a fixed position.

  • Patent number: 4969809
Abstract: A lubrication system for a rotary piston internal-combustion engine of the trochoid type, including a roller or needle bearing for the rotor on the eccentric, wherein internal engine oil seals may be eliminated. A narrow annular clearance is provided between the shaft and the pinion of the synchromesh gearing, into which a dosed quantity of fresh oil may be pumped through the adjoining side part. At that side of this annular clearance which opens towards the eccentric, a splash edge is provided which is surrounded by a collector groove arranged at the eccentric. A passage in the eccentric leads from a radially outermost part of the collector groove towards the center of the rotor bearing. The pressurizing oil flowing into the annular clearance forces the oil to leave this space whereupon it is splashed off the splash edge under the action of the centrifugal force of the rotating shaft, and transferred into the collector groove from where it is passed through the bore in the eccentric into the rotor bearing.
