  • Patent number: 7383128
Abstract: Representations of data inversions are generated by alternate forms of maximum likelihood estimating and associated least-squares and regression analysis which are rendered in correspondence with either single component residual deviations or projections between data samples and inversion-conforming data sets. Deficiencies in representing likelihood as related to errors-in-variables data and heterogeneous precision are compensated by composite weighting of likelihood elements. Composite weight factors employ both normalization to establish non-skewed homogeneous likelihood elements and fundamental weighting to compensate for associated non-linearly and establish common units for combining orthogonal coordinate-oriented data-point projections. Respective weight factors are related to alternately considered fundamental variables.

  • Patent number: 7383147
Abstract: An apparatus, method, system, and signal-bearing medium may provide multiple maps, which may include multiple probing sequences to be called upon at run-time based on statistical thresholds or other selected criteria. Each map may include a series of locations on a wafer, the tests to perform at each location, and the measured results of each test. A parametric test system may perform the test at the associated location on the wafer. If the statistical threshold is exceeded or the selected criteria is met, the current map may be abandoned in favor of a different map.

  • Patent number: 7383132
Abstract: Method for enhancing resistive anomalies in electromagnetic geophysical survey data. Scaled values of a measured electromagnetic field parameter are plotted on a depth section at locations related to corresponding source/receiver locations. Scaling is performed relative to a reference signal selected to represent a baseline free of unknown resistive bodies. Scaled values are represented by a color scale in the display, and the color scale may be adjusted to enhance perceived anomalies. The method may be employed in either the frequency domain or the time domain.

  • Patent number: 7383138
Abstract: A semiconductor device includes: a power switch connecting an internal power supply in which power is not shut down and an internal power supply in which power is shut down; and an internal voltage determining circuit for determining voltage of the internal power supply in which power is shut down. Voltage of the internal power supply in which power is shut down is generated from external power supply voltage by using a regulator circuit. When the power of the internal power supply is interrupted, the power switch is turned off, the regulator circuit is turned off, and an output of the regulator circuit is shorted to a ground potential. When power of the internal power supply is resumed, the regulator circuit is turned on, shorting is cancelled, increased voltage of the internal power supply is determined, operation of a circuit block is started, and the switch is turned on.

  • Patent number: 7383154
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of determining the probability that a statistical model describes the driving style or usage of a vehicle observed. By identifying an appropriate statistical model, the driving style can be detected and vehicle operation can be optimized. The method may be applied to both hybrid and non-hybrid vehicles. The method may also be augmented to determine the most probable statistical model of the usage of the vehicle. This allows detection of driving styles that can be classified as urban, highway, aggressive, etc. For example, the augmented method can be used to distinguish between highway and urban driving with a very high certainty.

  • Patent number: 7379845
Abstract: A structure health monitoring (“SHM”) system according to the invention can be deployed in an onboard environment, such as an aircraft, to provide an ongoing damage assessment of structural components on the aircraft. The SHM system reduces or eliminates time consuming and costly manual inspections of aircraft. The SHM system can leverage known sensor technologies to collect sensor data indicative of the structural health of the monitored components. The sensor data is processed and baselined with sensor feature baselines and damage estimate baselines to provide an accurate final damage estimate for the monitored component. The final damage estimate can be further processed or formatted for compatibility with aircraft maintenance systems.

  • Patent number: 7379841
Abstract: An inclination calculation apparatus within a game machine computes an inclination of an input device having an acceleration sensor/detector capable of simultaneously detecting an acceleration in at least two axial directions. Programmed logic circuitry within the apparatus consecutively generates preliminary data which represents an inclination and which is uniquely determined from acceleration data consecutively output from the acceleration sensor/detector. Programmed logic circuitry within the apparatus also consecutively computes a new/updated inclination based on a previously computed inclination, an acceleration due to gravity and a current inclination represented by the preliminary data, wherein the new/updated inclination is computed to have a direction oriented between the previously computed inclination and a current inclination represented by the preliminary data by a degree to which the acceleration due to gravity contributes to the acceleration data.

  • Patent number: 7379818
Abstract: A misalignment angle between the transmitter and receiver antenna of a multicomponent induction logging tool are estimated from quadrature component signals at multiple frequencies. A transmitter antenna having a first axial direction on a logging tool is excited at a plurality of frequencies. Signals responsive to the excitation are received at a receiver antenna having a second axial direction. A direct field between the transmitter antenna and the receiver antenna is obtained by performing multi-frequency focusing of the received signals. The misalignment angle is estimated from the direct field.

  • Patent number: 7379836
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of identifying test devices having excessive leakage current and also includes computer program products that enable the same. The method obtaining background test data using a test routine to measure the leakage current for a set of test devices as a function of a parameter associated with device speed for the device under test. From the test data, a leakage threshold function is defined that correlates leakage current with the parameter associated with device speed. The test routine and the leakage threshold function are then input into an automated testing apparatus configured to execute the test on production or other devices. Devices are tested to determine leakage current over a range of parameter values associated with device speed. The devices are then screened using the leakage threshold function to determine the status of the device.

  • Patent number: 7376519
Abstract: A method for determining damage in a structural health monitoring system comprising a plurality of sensors distributed across a structure is disclosed. The method includes decomposing the plurality of sensors into a plurality of sub-arrays. Each sub-array is associated with a current sensor. For each sub-array, data is collected, the data corresponding to electrical signals produced by waves initiated by the current sensor and detected by a receiving sensor. The data is used to calculate a damage measurement for the sub-array. Then, the damage measurement determined for each sub-array is combined to determining an overall damage assessment from the combined damage measurements.
