  • Patent number: 8693063
Abstract: An image-reading device includes a plurality of image sensors, a starting signal generator and a signal timing regulator. Each image sensor reads images on a pixel basis and generating an image signal indicative of the image. The image signal is an analog signal. The starting signal generator generates starting signals at every predetermined time period. A sampling period for sampling the image signal is set within the predetermined time period. In response to the starting signal sequentially inputted to the image sensors, the image sensors read the image until the predetermined time period is expired. The signal timing regulator delays an input timing at which the starting signal is inputted to the image sensor so that the sampling periods for the plurality of image sensors are different from one another.

  • Patent number: 8605321
Abstract: A printer control processing device manages a result of the image capturing of the symbol pattern indicating information based on which a print process is controlled. The printer control processing device includes: a recording/retrieving section for obtaining reference pattern data and pattern printing data from an information storage section; a matching level determining section for determining a matching level between reference pattern data and the result of the image capturing by an image capturing device of a symbol pattern printed based on the pattern printing data; and a pattern modifying section modifying the pattern printing data corresponding to a captured symbol pattern if the matching level determining section determines that the matching level is less than a predetermined threshold. Therefore, pattern printing data can be provided which results in a reliably identifiable symbol pattern in the result the image capturing by the image capturing device.

  • Patent number: 8570574
Abstract: A processing system may include a server group connectable to an image forming apparatus, a request processing unit, a backend processing unit, a receiving unit, a determination unit, and a sending unit. The receiving unit receives information relating to a document file corresponding to a processing request from the image forming apparatus. If the determination unit determines that that the processing method is a synchronous processing method, then the request processing unit processes the document file based on the processing request. If the determination unit determines that that the processing method is an asynchronous processing method, then the request processing unit requests the backend processing unit to process the processing request. After the document file has been processed according to the determined processing method, the sending unit sends a notification to the image forming apparatus that the document file has been processed.

  • Patent number: 8542402
Abstract: Determining a spectral gamut of a device by designating a spanning set of samples which span the spectral gamut. A first crude spanning set of samples is established by specifying one or more corresponding device values in a device color space. The first crude spanning set is refined by processing a plurality of new samples in a predetermined order. The processing includes, for each new sample, determining if the new sample differs in an objective function value by more than a predetermined threshold from all samples in the first crude spanning set and adding the new sample to the first crude spanning set if the new sample differs in the objective function value by more than the predetermined threshold. The resulting first crude spanning set is designated as the spanning set of samples.
