Abstract: A device for organizing and displaying messages, the device comprising a processor, the processor being configured to: set a plurality of layout modes for organizing and displaying the messages exchanged among devices in a structured fashion; determine a layout mode for a chat session among the plurality of layout modes; display messages included in the chat session in the determined layout mode; and adjust the textbox-widths of all messages whenever a predetermined event occurs, wherein the event comprises at least one of a rotation of the device, sending or receiving of at least one message, and an input of at least one command for a scheme of displaying messages.

The electronic device includes a touch screen display that displays a user interface, a force sensor that detects a pressure with which an external object touches the touch screen display, a wireless communication circuit, and a processor that controls the touch screen display to display the user interface, receives, from at least one of the force sensor and the wireless communication circuit, data representing that the external object is pressing a portion of the user interface with a pressure greater than or equal to a selected pressure, receives a handwriting input through the touch screen display, and displays the handwriting input on the user interface on the touch screen display.

When the control unit detects contact with a display range of the object displayed on the display unit with use of the contact detection unit, detects contact with an active range of a display screen other than the display range of the object, and further detects a movement instruction to the object, then the control unit controls the object so as to be movable within the active range. Thus, use of a contact detection unit capable of a plurality of contact points permits a user's intuitive operation.

Abstract: Disclosed are ways to generate and present recommendations which provide a user with the ability to explore the follow-on consequences of accepting the recommendations. In some aspects, a method includes receiving a first user input including a recommendation topic, presenting, via a display, an exploration structure including a node corresponding to the recommendation topic, receiving data corresponding to the node from a knowledge repository, analyzing the received data to determine at least one follow-on recommendation based on the node, and presenting each determined follow-on recommendation in the exploration structure as a child node of the node corresponding to the recommendation topic.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate generally to effortlessly switching between user accounts. For example, a user may access an application on their computing device. Within the application the user may have multiple user accounts. The application may display a plurality of indicators that signify each user account associated with that application. In this regard, the user may perform a swiping or tapping motion to select a particular user account to switch to. A transitional stage may take place that changes a first background and details associated with a first user account to a second background and details associated with a second user account. When the transition is complete, the user is able to access and perform functions associated with the second user account. The user may switch to another user account using a similar swiping or tapping motion.

The processor implements the method, including controlling the display to display a background screen and one or more windows on the background screen, confirming a location of a first window when the first window is selected by a user from among the one or more windows, generating a blurred window border to be applied to the first window based on the selection of the first window, and controlling the display to display the blurred window border along a boundary of the first window.

Abstract: The present invention can include electronic devices having variable input/output interfaces that can allow a user to interact with the devices with greater efficiency and in a more ergonomic manner. An electronic device of the present invention can display icons associated with user-programmable parameters of a media file. By interacting with the icons, a user can change the user-programmable parameters during playback of the media file. Changes to the user-programmable parameters can affect playback of the remainder of the media file. An electronic device of the present invention also can automatically re-orient images shown on a display and re-configure user input components based on the orientation of the electronic device.

According to one aspect disclosed herein, a recommender system can receive user input regarding a service project interest expressed by a user. In response to the user input, the recommender system can consult a knowledge base to determine a recommended service based upon the user input regarding the service project interest expressed by the user. The recommender system can then present the recommended service to the user.

Abstract: A device, system and method for correcting operational device errors is provided. A memory stores first operational data associated with first context data and a first device, the first operational data indicative of how a given user action is performed at the first device to implement a given function defined by the first context data. A controller receives data indicative of a user action at a second device; when the data does not correspond to a respective function at the second device, and when current context data of the second device corresponds to the first context data of the first device, an intended function for the user action is identified by comparing the data with the first operational data. When a correspondence occurs, operational information indicative of how to implement the given function at the second device is retrieved and provided at one or more notification devices.
