  • Patent number: 9702721
Abstract: On a mobile device a “live” network-based query for search is performed (e.g., performed automatically) in response to a map display update or other trigger event. In some implementations, when the map display is updated (or other trigger event occurs) a network-based map service is queried to obtain information related to the current location of the mobile device. The information can be presented on the map display. In some implementations, when multiple search results matching the query are provided by the map service, a confirmation request is presented on the mobile device to allow the user to select a search result. The selected search result (e.g., a destination) can be presented on the map display. A route from the current location of the mobile device to a destination can be drawn on the map display.

  • Patent number: 9424393
Abstract: A method for accessing, processing, presenting, and/or storing electronic medical record (EMR) information on a touch-sensitive display includes reading EMR information, displaying at least a portion of the EMR information on a touch-sensitive sliding timeline, detecting finger swipe or similar gestures, and scrolling the sliding timeline so that a different portion of the EMR information is displayed chronologically on the touch-sensitive sliding timeline. The resolution of the timeline can be expanded or collapsed in response to pinch gestures. The timeline is divided into a columns, each column including icons representing medical related events. A second timeline having a different time resolution from the first timeline is used for navigating the medical related events. Different levels of detail regarding the medical related events can be viewed in different detail panes. An EMR access device and system are also disclosed, which are configured to access and present EMR information.

  • Patent number: 8781849
Abstract: A system and method by which medical care providers enter data representing a patient's condition(s), treatments provided and drugs prescribed and other information that may be germane to a patient's condition. The data is transmitted to both a managed-care organization as well as to interconnected centralized service center(s) that receive similar data from multiple participating providers. The service center(s) store, for each patient, all the data. When such data is received from the medical providers treating the patient the service center can create a profile of the patient and compare all of this data with a database or lookup table (LUT) that contains all of the recommended protocols, treatments, follow-up treatments, medications, etc. for a patient. When follow-up treatments, medications, etc. are recommended, the service center(s) can automatically send reminders, recommendations or suggestions to the patient's provider(s) to take recommended steps to ensure the wellness of the patient.

  • Patent number: 8751256
Abstract: Methods and systems for accessing information stored in an electronic patient record are disclosed. A memory stores a set of medical logic instructions which code for retrieval of multiple items of information stored in the electronic patient record for a given patient. Optionally, the instructions code for a rules-based interpretation of information stored in the electronic patient record, such as instructions that apply criteria in a quality scoring system and generate a score. The medical logic instructions are associated with an “intelligent token”, i.e., a character string such as |DIABETES|, |ASTHMA| or |PROGRESS|. The invoking of the intelligent token triggers execution of the medical logic instructions and retrieval of the information from the database. The intelligent tokens can be embedded into document templates, or selected or entered by the user as part of a document creation process.

  • Patent number: 8751261
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for identifying patients to receive a medical device has been developed. The method includes retrieving first medical data associated with one patient from a database, identifying a probability that a medical device provides a medical benefit to the one patient that exceeds a cost associated with providing the medical device to the one patient with reference to the first medical data and a probabilistic model, the probabilistic model having a plurality of model parameters, each model parameter corresponding to one type of datum in the first medical data, and providing the medical device to the one patient in response to the identified probability exceeding a first predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 8731979
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method which allows a prospective insured to make an informed decision on healthcare insurance or a specific health care management decision by using a current medical profile to assist in their selection. Based on past medical care, as obtained from payor data, a number of different plans, each having different providers, different deductibles, different maximums, different reimbursement policies, etc., a person can make an informed decision. When a family has different payors for different family members, a proper blend of payors can be more easily selected since the payors (or a single payor) has a medical profile of each family member and also has information on providers in the network, prescription policies, deductibles, maximums, etc.
