Abstract: The invention provides for modeling and scoring risk-assessment and a set of insurance products derived therefrom. Risk indicators are determined at a selected time. A population is assessed at that time and afterward for those risk indicators and for consequences associated therewith. Population members are coupled to client devices for determining risk indicators and consequences. A server receives data from each client, and in response thereto and in conjunction with an expert operator, (1) reassesses weights assigned to the risk indicators, (2) determines new risk indicators, (3) determines new measures for determining risk indicators and consequences, and (4) presents treatment options to each population member. The server determines, in response to the data from each client, and possibly other data, a measure of risk for each indicated consequence or for a set of such consequences. The server provides this measure with regard to each population member, or with regard to population subsets.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product for developing neuropsychiatric treatment plans. A treatment plan generator receives a set of diagnoses for a patient. The treatment plan generator automatically analyzes medical information in a set of electronic medical literature sources for potential therapies associated with treatment of each identified condition in the set of diagnoses. The treatment plan generator identifies the potential therapies associated with the treatment of each diagnosed condition. The treatment plan generator selects a set of recommended therapies from the potential therapies based on portions of the medical literature describing each therapy in the potential therapies and a medical history for the patient. The treatment plan generator generates a treatment plan. The treatment plan comprises the set of recommended therapies to treat each diagnosed condition in the set of diagnoses.

Abstract: A patient list is provided to a medical provider. The medical provider may be prompted to review particular patients on the list or they may review these patients on their own. In any case, a patient is selected from the list and the provider determines if a medical metric associated with the patient is accurate or complete. The provider may then selectively enter self-report data concerning the accuracy or completeness of the medical metric. A provider assessment (e.g., score) is recalculated based at least in part on the self-reported data as well as the data that has already been collected. The re-calculated score may be provided to the medical plan.

Abstract: Exemplary system and method embodiments may include real-time monitoring data regarding administration of a health-related procedure to a recipient patient which is posted to a patient data record that has restricted read/write access. In some instances the monitoring data is processed to determine compliance or non-compliance based on comparison of the health-related procedure with a predetermined benchmark standard. Exemplary aspects of the monitoring data transmitted and/or received via one or more communication links may include updated confirmation of a patient identifier and verification of an updated parameter regarding administration of the health-related procedure.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present system and method relate generally to standardized electronic communications in a healthcare setting. Certain embodiments of the system include a healthcare information acquisition and management system capable of using information that conforms to an industry standard format for information transfer, an order scheduling system capable of managing information flow within the healthcare setting, and a gateway system interconnecting the healthcare information acquisition and management system and the order scheduling system. In certain embodiments, the gateway system provides for a transfer of nonconforming information between the order scheduling system and the healthcare information acquisition and management system.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method which allows a prospective insured to make an informed decision on healthcare insurance or a specific health care management decision by using a current medical profile to assist in their selection. Based on past medical care, as obtained from payor data, a number of different plans, each having different providers, different deductibles, different maximums, different reimbursement policies, etc., a person can make an informed decision. When a family has different payors for different family members, a proper blend of payors can be more easily selected since the payors (or a single payor) has a medical profile of each family member and also has information on providers in the network, prescription policies, deductibles, maximums, etc.

Abstract: Systems and methods to provide bridging insurance coverage are described. The apparatus may comprise, a receiver module to receive a request for a financial service from a requestor and an underwriter module to underwrite a bridging financial service. The method may comprise, receiving from a requestor a request for a financial service, underwriting a bridge financial service at the time of the request, and initiating the external processes required for the approval of a final insurance policy. The method may additionally include, completing the external processes, underwriting a final financial service based on the external processes and terminating the bridge financial service.

Abstract: A workflow system and user interface coordinates information concerning a course of treatment of a patient, as well as data from a treatment device and links appointment data from a scheduling system with actual treatment activity information in order to show a complete timeline of a course of treatment. A user interface system for presenting medication dosage and treatment information includes a display processor for providing data representing a single display image. The single display image presents information identifying treatment received by a patient and treatment scheduled to be received by the patient together with a timeline. The single display image also presents information identifying cumulative dosage of a medication received by a patient and an associated date the cumulative dosage is received by the patient. A command processor initiates presentation of the single display image in response to user command.

Abstract: A system and method for generating a medical history that is determined based on the patient's medication list. Medications are taken for specific indications, i.e., disease and/or symptom, and the system includes a knowledge base of all known medications and associated indications. Preferably, an expert system allows the patient, nurse or other user, to enter all or part of the name of the patient's medications, and creates a list of probable medications by determining which of the known medications the patient most likely takes. Based on a user selected probable medication, the system creates a list of probable indications associated with the selected medication. Based on a user selected probable indication, the system generates a medical history for the patient. The probable medications and probable indications are determined preferably based on the patient's demographic data, historical data for other patients, and responses to follow-up questions generated by the system.

This system and method includes a care planner for accurately approximating the costs for the subject during the course of care, an insurance verifier and estimator that identifies the portion of the costs for the subject that is covered by the subjects insurance, wherein the approximated costs less the covered insurance leaves a subject payment, a discount planner that evaluates the application of at least one discount to the subject payment, and a payment planner that enables a payment arrangement for the subject for the subject payment less any applied discounts.

A pharmacy user interface system includes a user interface processor for providing data representing at least one display image supporting user entry of a coded diagnosis identifier for association with an order identifier identifying a medication order record indicating an order for a particular medication to be administered to a particular patient during an inpatient stay in a medical facility.

Abstract: A web-based endoscope management system and method for managing, scheduling and tracking in real-time the processing of endoscopy equipment in a single site or across multiple sites. The system allows various useful information relating to the managed endoscopy equipment and its processing history (such as equipment status, equipment movement, equipment repair history, cost and procedural efficiencies, what individuals have processed or come into contact with the equipment) to be tracked and analyzed. The system incorporates a user display and prompt to assist users in following the proper processing and cleaning protocols (preparation, pre-cleaning, automated reprocessing, repair, etc.) for the equipment. The system uses a color-coded display so that pertinent information can be seen at a glance. This system is used in conjunction with a suitable color-coded labeling scheme to reduce the possibility that users will process the wrong equipment or improperly store it.

Abstract: A process of providing needy Medicare recipients with financial help in addressing medical care by setting up a non-profit organization, receiving donated pharmaceutical product from pharmaceutical manufacturers to the non-profit organization, inventorying the drug product received from the pharmaceutical manufacturers in a contracted or non-profit pharmacy, and taking title of the drug product from the pharmaceutical manufacturers. The drug product replaces a drug product used by the Medicare recipients and the drug product accounts toward the recipient's true out-of-pocket payment (TrOOP).

Abstract: A method of transaction approval and substantiation employing accumulator logic for medical, dental, and vision claims. For example, a health care plan member may utilize an electronic payment card to pay for various health care related expenses where that electronic payment card is deducting from that member's flexible spending account, health reimbursement arrangement, or other such accounts. For substantiation of a card transaction, in addition to copay matching, paid claim matching, and recurring transaction matching for medical, dental, and vision claims, the method of the current invention further employs accumulator logic processing where the transaction is substantiated if the card swipe amount for that transaction is less than or equal to the sum in an accumulator for the previously paid claims in the appropriate medical, dental, or vision claim area.

Abstract: A breakaway interface between radiological information systems, imaging equipment and picture archive and communications systems has automated filtering and handling of multiple study work orders or affiliated work orders, while passing single study work orders through unaltered. The work orders are processed by the breakaway interface to consolidate multiple procedure or multiple study work orders into a single super order, which is then communicated, preferably using DICOM standard protocol, to an imaging machine. The imaging machine returns a single image sequence, and the breakaway interface will then break images away from the single image sequence into a plurality of grouped image sequences. The preferred grouping is based upon anatomical regions, and separate but adjacent anatomical regions will preferably share one or more images at the boundary between the adjacent regions. The exact number of shared images may preferably be preset at the system level.
