  • Patent number: 10089849
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure relate to systems and methods for isolating a base station beacon and gas reading transmission channel(s) based on a single radio wireless gas detection system. A gas detector may communicate on a first channel (e.g. a beacon channel) constantly listening to the base station beacon information. At a pre-defined interval (e.g. every 60 seconds), the gas detector radio may switch to a second channel (e.g. a data channel) to transmit gas reading data as well as the base station information to a central server. Software on the server may complete a triangulation algorithm to determine the location of the gas detector, using information obtained by the detector from the beacons.

  • Patent number: 10083460
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for communicating product or service information to a potential purchaser. A product or item describing a service are scanned to obtain both a product or service code and an advertisement promotion code provided by a vendor/retailer or manufacturer of the product or service using a smartphone of a first user. A barcode is generated on the smartphone by combining the product or service code and the advertisement promotion code with information from the smartphone associated with the product or service and with an advertiser code that uniquely identifies the first user. The barcode is communicated to a communication device of a second user that is the potential purchaser of the product or service. When the communication device is presented to a point of sale (POS) terminal, the terminal scans the barcode, decodes the barcode, and compensates the first user according to the advertisement promotion code.

  • Patent number: 10074282
Abstract: A system for providing flight interval management (FIM) instructions to a pilot of an aircraft includes a module coupled to a display device and configured to communicate with a FIM avionics device. The module generates a first output when input data from the FIM avionics device indicates that the aircraft is within 30 nautical miles of another aircraft, and a second input when a lack of valid input data indicates that the module has lost connectivity to the FIM avionics device. The first input is to the display device to present at least an indication of a paired mode of the module with the FIM avionics device, and a commanded speed reported by the FIM avionics device. The second output is to remove any information presented by the display device and present a blank screen, and then present a status message indicating the lost connectivity to the FIM avionics device.

  • Patent number: 10066422
Abstract: An electronic article surveillance device with an electronics housing and base attaches to an article to be protected. The housing and base have connecting interfaces which act together to attach the housing to the base. The housing and base have matching apertures. A switch and a wrapping splitter extend from the housing through the apertures. The switch detects when the device is attached to an object and the wrapping splitter splits the wrapping to prevent the wrapping from being used to defeat the switch. Electronics monitor the status of the switch. The apparatus may employ a restraining mechanism to prevent the operation of the wrapping splitter unless the housing is attached to the base. The housing and base may be attached to each other by a manually movable latch, which may also actuate the wrapping splitter. Electronics in the apparatus receive and send signals.
