Abstract: A method for sharing consumer data with a merchant includes: storing, in an account database at least one account profile, wherein each account profile includes data related to a transaction account including at least an account identifier and a plurality of sharing data values; receiving, from a point of sale device, an authorization request for a payment transaction, wherein the authorization request includes at least a specific account identifier and a sharing request; identifying, in the account database, a specific account profile where the included account identifier corresponds to the specific account identifier; identifying, in the specific account profile, one or more sharing data values of the plurality of sharing data values for sharing to the point of sale device; and transmitting, by a transmitting device, the identified one or more sharing data values to the point of sale device.

Abstract: A method of authentication of a user is provided. The method comprises capturing a brain activity signal from a user; comparing the brain activity signal with reference data; and determining, based at least in part on the comparison, whether the identity of the user can be confirmed. Also provided is a computing device comprising at least one processor and at least one memory. The computing device is adapted to: communicate with a brain activity sensing system to capture a brain activity signal from the user; provide the captured brain activity signal to an authentication service computing system; and authenticate the user based at least in part on the result of a comparison with reference data received from the authentication service computing system. A system comprising the computing device and a brain activity sensing system, and am authentication service computing device are also provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods for authenticating identification information are disclosed. For example, an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) may comprise a user interface. The user interface may comprise a card reader. The card reader may be configured for card rotation about an axis of a bank card. The user interface may be configured to receive card rotation input from a user. The ATM may comprise at least one memory storing instructions. The ATM may comprise at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to perform operations. The operations may comprise receiving identification information from the user. The operations may comprise receiving the card rotation input. The operations may comprise extracting a card rotation sequence from the card rotation input. When the card rotation sequence is within a predetermined threshold from a stored card rotation sequence corresponding to the identification information, the operations may comprise authenticating the user for an ATM operation.

Abstract: A user undertakes an event, such as adding, removing, or otherwise interacting with an item stowed at a fixture. Using successive samples of weight data that occur during an event, a plurality of vectors are generated that are indicative of a weight change and a location associated with the fixture. The vectors are processed to determine where within the fixture the event took place. Hypotheses are generated that describe predicted interactions involving predicted locations that correspond to those indicated by the vectors. The hypotheses are ranked and then one is selected as a solution. The predicted values associated with the selected hypothesis are then used to generate interaction data that indicates one or more types of item and quantities of the items that were added, removed, or otherwise handled by the user.

Abstract: An implementation of the present specification discloses a method for processing payment in an offline scenario. A collection terminal, when in an offline state, scans an offline code generated by a user terminal in an offline state to obtain offline code information, obtains a payment amount, and saves the offline code information and the payment amount, and if in an online state, uploads the offline code information and the payment amount to a server, so that after receiving the offline code and the payment amount, the server pays a deduction amount from a corresponding payment account based on the offline code information and the payment amount, and thus puts the deduction amount into a payment account corresponding to the collection terminal. As such, the payment function can still be achieved when the user terminal and the collection terminal are in an offline state.

Abstract: An application executed at a user terminal with a touch screen displays, on the touch screen, a UI in which a user-side UI for accepting a touch operation by a user and a store-side UI for accepting a touch operation by a staff member of a store are placed, as a settlement UI for settlement of a currency amount of a digital local currency. The application judges whether time during which the touch operation on the user-side UI and the touch operation on the store-side UI are simultaneously continued has reached a specified period of time or not. If the judgment result is true, the application displays a settlement completion notice on the touch screen.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes tracking usage history of a plurality of components of one or more products. An original set of announcements about the one or more products is received, where the original set of announcements includes a plurality of announcement records. The plurality of announcement records are prioritized based on the usage history of the plurality of components. A usage-based set of announcements is generated based on the prioritization of the plurality of announcement records.

Abstract: A data management device includes a network interface, a memory storing first and second databases, and a processor. The processor determines whether a customer identifier has been included in receipt data. When the identifier is included, the receipt data is stored in both databases. When the identifier is not included, receipt data is stored in the second database. The processor searches the first database for receipt data including a customer's identifier upon request and controls the interface to transmit the receipt data found by the search to the customer terminal. If a search request is received from a server, the second database is searched for receipt data that satisfies a search condition accompanying the request, and then receipt found in the search is transmitted to the server.

Abstract: Among other things, product data is repeatedly communicated from an application on a device associated with a retail location to a server of a platform controlled independently of the application on the device. The product data identifies (a) current numbers of units of products available for retail customers at the retail location and (b) purchasing behavior of retail customers of the retail location with respect to combinations of the products. The retail location is repeatedly restocked with additional units of products to maintain the products in an in-stock state, the additional units have been received in deliveries made from one or more upstream product distribution entities based on predictions facilitated by the server of future demand for the products by retail customers of the retail location.

Abstract: This invention discloses a novel system and method and system for sharing a data item among a plurality of computers connected in an arbitrary network topology. In the preferred embodiment, each of the plurality of computers has a local copy of the data item, but can only edit the copy by obtaining a token from the current token owner, thereby becoming a new current token owner. When the token owner makes a change to the data item, the change is broadcast to the other computers, along with the identity of the new current token owner. Routing of token requests and broadcasts is accomplished by means of each computer calculating a routing table based on information it receives from those computers to which it is directly connected on the network.

Abstract: Disclosed are various approaches for issuing Department of Defense (DoD) transaction accounts and approving payments with the DoD transaction accounts. A first computing device receives a request from a second computing device for a Department of Defense (DoD) transaction account, the request comprising a DoD identifier. The first computing device then verifies the DoD identifier and issues a new DoD transaction account associated with the DoD identifier in response.

Abstract: A walk-through gate is provided. The walk-through gate includes a first semi-transparent side wall and a second semi-transparent side wall encapsulating a walk-through gate volume having an ingress portion and an egress portion. The walk-through gate further includes a plurality of antennas for wirelessly receiving product identifiers for wireless checkout. At least one of the plurality of antennas is made of a semi-transparent conductive material.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for enabling merchant devices to interoperate with one another in a more robust manner, such that overall operation and efficiency within a merchant establishment is improved. For instance, the techniques described herein may enable the intelligent routing of requests between devices within the merchant establishment based on real-time locations of the devices, which devices are associated with which orders, and the like.

Abstract: Systems, devices and methods directed to operation of a point of sale (PoS) device during network connectivity to a cloud server, as well as during network outages and/or interruptions. The POS device can process transactions in a seamless manner even during network outages and/or interruptions. A POS application that runs on a POS device in an “online” mode can automatically detect an interruption in network connectivity, and switch to an “offline” mode. In the offline mode, the POS device can continue to process transactions and/or conduct other activities.

Abstract: A POS terminal for fulfilling orders includes a state processor and an order processor. The state processor queues state changes in durable order queues that correspond to orders in a restaurant. The order processor, coupled to the state processor, generates the state changes and accesses and transmits the state changes in each of the durable order queues to a synchronization server, from oldest to youngest, when operably connected to a network, where the order processor includes current order state fields corresponding to all of the orders, and where the order processor utilizes domain specific rules disposed therein to resolve conflicts in the orders occurring from state change updates received from the synchronization server which result from other state changes to the one or more orders generated by one or more other POS terminals, where one or more of the orders are received from a third-party terminal that is not on-premise with the POS terminal.

A point-of-sale terminal is configured to scan the displayed code symbol and code symbols of merchandise being purchased, and generate transaction information. A local server is configured to transfer the transaction information from the point-of-sale terminal to the central server. When the transaction information includes a local user ID, a point total of the user is updated based on the transaction information and transmitted to the computing device. The central server stores the transaction information, which is received from the local server, in association with the global user ID.

Abstract: A media terminal includes two integrated currency devices, each device providing at least one feature/operation that is similar to or is the same as the other device. Two independent sessions to each device are made and presented to a transaction application of the terminal as a single aggregated session. When the transaction application issues a command through the single aggregated session, a decision is made that is transparent to the application as to which device should process the command on behalf of the application and the command is issued to the selected device over the corresponding independent session. Results or notifications provided by the selected device are aggregated and provided to the application over the single aggregated session. In an embodiment, the two integrated currency devices are different types of devices from one another.
