  • Patent number: 11596017
Abstract: During operation, a radio node may provide, at a transmit time during a first time interval, a first instance of a keep-alive message to a computer. Then, the radio node may receive, at a receive time prior to a first instance of a transmit expire time, an instance of a keep-alive response from the computer, where the instance of the keep-alive response authorizes the radio node to transmit in a granted portion of the spectrum until a second instance of the transmit expire time has elapsed. Moreover, the radio node may determine, based at least in part on the receive time and the first instance of the transmit expire time, an updated transmit time. Next, the radio node may provide, at the updated transmit time, which is prior to the second instance of the transmit expire time, a second instance of the keep-alive message addressed to the computer.

  • Patent number: 11540085
Abstract: A method of determining a position of a mobile telecommunication device (10) which transmits a signal (S) to base stations (1, 2, 3, . . . ) connected by a data link (8) comprises the steps of: correlating the received signal (S) and a reference signal (S?) so as to produce a correlation for each base station, detecting a maximum in each correlation, which maximum is indicative of a time of arrival of the signal (S) at the respective base station, and using the respective times of arrival and the distances (D1, D2, . . . ) derived therefrom to derive a location of the mobile telecommunication device. The method uses receivers (21, 22, . . . ) coupled to a data network (7), each receiver (21, 22, . . . ) deriving the reference signal (S?) from the received signal (S). Each base station may select, if it receives multiple reference signals, the reference signal (S?) having the highest quality.

  • Patent number: 11496629
Abstract: A spectrum access system (SAS) grants one or more channels of a shared spectrum to a base station, e.g., in response to receiving a registration request from the base station. The SAS increments a usage of a connection between the base station and the SAS in response to the SAS receiving information indicating that the base station has an active connection with the apparatus during a service time interval. The processor does not increment the usage if the base station does not have an active connection with the apparatus during the service time interval. In some cases, the active connection is indicated by heartbeat messages exchanged between the base station and the SAS. A customer associated with the base station is charged a cost based on the usage determined by the SAS.

Abstract: A method of using a computer processor for grouping prosthetic valve leaflets of an aggregate of prosthetic valve leaflets is provided. For each leaflet of the aggregate, in response to an image parameter of the leaflet, a leaflet-flexibility value is derived. At least some of the leaflets of the aggregate are designated into leaflet groups, based on similarity between the respective leaflet-flexibility value of each leaflet of the aggregate. For each of the designated leaflet groups, the flexibility value of each leaflet in the designated leaflet group is within the intra-group tolerance with respect to the leaflet-flexibility value of each other leaflet in the designated leaflet group. An indication of the designated leaflet groups is outputted. Other embodiments are also described.
