  • Patent number: 11488480
Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable vehicle UE(s) to transmit warning message(s) to one or more pedestrian UEs without receiving P2V transmissions from the one or more pedestrian UEs. In one aspect, a first UE determines one or more configuration parameters for a plurality of second UEs, the one or more configuration parameters including an identification parameter, the identification parameter being associated with a time period. The first UE determines, based on the identification parameter for at least one second UE of the plurality of second UEs, whether to transmit a warning message to the at least one second UE. The first UE transmits, based on determining to transmit the warning message, the warning message to the at least one second UE, the warning message including an ID for the at least one second UE, the ID for the at least one second UE being based on the identification parameter.

  • Patent number: 11483764
Abstract: Selection of a connection system is facilitated in MulteFire that simultaneously supports two types of modes, which are a PLMN access mode and an NHN access mode. A first wireless base station operates in a licensed frequency band and connects to a first network. A second wireless base station operates in an unlicensed frequency band and selects and connects to any of the first network and a second network. A wireless communication unit of a wireless communication device can communicate with each of the first and second wireless base stations. A connection-destination control unit notifies the second wireless base station to connect to the second network with priority over the first network within a range of the second wireless base station.

  • Patent number: 11477783
Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling and providing uplink based mobility procedures are disclosed. Embodiments provide uplink based mobility procedures in which one or more physical channel typically used to facilitate uplink based mobility is not utilized. For example, an uplink based mobility process of embodiments utilizes a UL-based mobility specific ID and/or synchronization signals to provide information for decoding signals avoiding the use of physical cell identifier channel (PCICH). Embodiments of an uplink based mobility process utilize a physical channel, such as a physical slot format indication channel (PSFICH) or a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), to provide uplink mobility signal acknowledgements and paging indications avoiding the use of a physical keep alive channel (PKACH).

  • Patent number: 11477787
Abstract: Assigning resources for transmitting signals to a user equipment includes receiving, at a first node having a first coverage area, an indication of an overlapping coverage area from a second node when the second node is a non-terrestrial node having a second coverage area that overlaps with the first coverage area. Request for resources are received from a user equipment in the first coverage area, and resources assignments to the user equipment are determined based on the first message and the received request. The resource assignments include a first resource assignment for communication with the first node and a second resource assignment for communication with the second node. The resource assignments are transmitted in a second message to the user equipment, which then communicates with the first node using the first resource assignment and to communication with the second node using the second resource assignment.

  • Patent number: 11470675
Abstract: Techniques for call type selection based on failure probability are described and may be implemented via a wireless device to adapt to a variety of different wireless scenarios. Generally, the described techniques provide a wireless device with the ability to implement a wireless call event via different call types, e.g., different radio access technologies (RATs). For instance, when a first call type frequently experiences failure at a particular location, a second call type is utilized to initiate calls at the location, such as based on call records for historic call events.

  • Patent number: 11463843
Abstract: A mobile device may be configured to perform concurrent Satellite Positioning System (SPS) operation and wireless communications when uplink signals transmitted by the mobile device interferes with the reception of SPS signals in one or more frequency bands. The mobile device may determine if the SPS receiver has already acquired SPS signals and is in a tracking state. If the SPS receiver is not in a tracking state, an SPS acquisition procedure is initiated before the wireless communication session is initiated. The SPS acquisition procedure is performed until the SPS receiver reaches a tracking state, or until a timeout is reached. Once the SPS receiver is in a tracking state, the wireless communication session may be initiated, during which the SPS receiver is controlled, e.g., to perform signal blanking, measurement exclusion, or disable SPS reception, to mitigate interference with SPS signals.

  • Patent number: 11452096
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for conducting wireless communication are provided. One method includes identifying a location of a device and obtaining spectrum usage data from a database. The spectrum usage data indicates a licensed entity licensed within an area including the location of the device to communicate across a first sub-band of frequencies within a frequency band, and one or more transmission characteristics of the transmissions of the licensed entity. The method further includes determining beam steering characteristics for wireless transmissions of the device within the frequency band using the spectrum usage data. The beam steering characteristics are determined using the transmission characteristics for the licensed entity and configured to reduce interference with the transmissions of the licensed entity within the frequency band caused by the wireless transmissions of the device.

  • Patent number: 11451932
Abstract: In certain embodiments, initiation of a location-triggered communication with a user may be facilitated. Communication may be initiated with a user (e.g., on a mobile device) based on an occurrence of a location trigger corresponding to a destination location at which the communication is to be initiated. The occurrence of the location trigger indicates the user is likely on the way to the destination location. The occurrence may be predicted based on mobile device location-independent user location information obtained from a data stream of a real-time application. For example, an event location and an event time of an event associated with the user may be extracted from the data stream and used to predict the occurrence.

  • Patent number: 11438769
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for providing multi-tier quasi-licensed spectrum wireless service via a common wireless access node such as a small-cell. In one embodiment, the quasi-licensed system utilizes multi-sector antennae to create antenna lobes adaptively according to parameters associated with different cell sectors, such as user traffic, random access requests, and/or interference. In one variant, when the user traffic or interference is determined to be very high in a particular sector, the sector is configured and activated based on the availability of low-noise spectrum. In another variant, when a new sector is created, the electrical power resources available for that sector are checked, and based on the amount of power available at that sector, either CBSD Category A or B status is allocated to that sector.

  • Patent number: 11438889
Abstract: The invention relates to improve use of resource units in MU transmissions of an 802.11ax network. An un-associated station may receive data frames over a downlink resource unit, RU, assigned to an AID, e.g. 2045, reserved for stations not associated with the AP, The AP may use a downlink RU sharing an allocation scheme feature of an uplink RU previously used by the un-associated station. The AP may also aggregated data frames addressed to several stations within the same downlink RU, for instance to acknowledge frames previously received from the stations. The aggregated data frames may signal which respective response RUs the addressee stations should use for a next multi-user uplink transmission to respond to the AP. These approaches particularly applies to the exchange of management frames for instance to speed up the association procedure of un-associated stations.
