  • Patent number: 9756513
Abstract: A method in a radio access node performs a sleepy cell test which can determine a cell state for a cell served by a radio access node. Fulfilment of a predetermined triggering condition is detected in a radio access node. Following detection of the fulfilled triggering condition, one or more user equipment to be paged is determined. The radio access node initiates a page response timer period and performs paging of the user equipment until there is time out of the timer period or a page response is received from the one or more user equipment. The paging responses received while performing the step of paging the user equipment is assessed. A cell state alert message reflecting the result from the paging is generated and sent to a receiving entity. Related radio access nodes configured to carry out the sleepy cell test and methods are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9749995
Abstract: The various inventive embodiments relate to arrangement of information elements (IEs) for persistent and/or dynamic allocations in a wireless broadband network and include optimization techniques to eliminate the repetitive information fields from the downlink (DL)-Persistent-IEs, uplink (UL)-Persistent-IEs, DL-IEs, and UL-IEs. Elimination of repetitive information fields reduces MAP overhead. In addition embodiments relate to methods to use the same hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) region to contain persistent as well as non-persistent allocations. The use of the same HARQ region for persistent as well as non-persistent allocations further reduces the MAP overhead as it requires a single header to define the HARQ region instead of the two headers that are required to define two different HARQ regions: one for persistent allocation and the second one for non-persistent allocations.

  • Patent number: 9742579
Abstract: A system for testing Ethernet paths or links without adversely impacting non-test traffic. The system includes a test traffic generator that includes a scheduler that determines when a new test packet is generated. The test traffic generator includes a packet creator that builds a test packet and a transmitter for transmitting the test packet via the Ethernet path or link. The packet creator sends the test packet to the transmitter. The traffic generator includes a transmit credit block coupled to the transmitter or to the scheduler. The transmit credit block stores an amount of credits representing a number of bytes that are available to transmit and decrements the amount each time a non-test packet is communicated via the Ethernet path or link.

In addition, the MS sets a transmit power for a PUCCH transmission on the selected PUCCH resource using a PUCCH format in accordance with at least one parameter. Furthermore, the MS transmits, with the set transmit power, information related to the ACK/NACK on the selected PUCCH resource. Also, the MS determines a value of the parameter in accordance with the number of cells where the one or more PDSCHs have been received in the plurality of downlink subframes.
