Abstract: Helmets and methods for manufacturing a helmet are described. An example helmet includes a shell and a shock absorbing liner attached to the shell. The shock absorbing liner includes a cavity. The helmet a shock absorbing insert formed of a material different than the material of the shock absorbing liner. The cavity is configured to retain the shock absorbing insert.

Abstract: Goggles include a goggle frame, a goggle strap, and a goggle strap connector. The goggle strap has a direction of strap tension when the goggles are worn by a user. The goggle strap connector includes a female bracket and a male bracket. The female bracket is directly coupled to the goggle frame or the goggle strap, including first and second bracket walls, a channel defined between the bracket walls, projections, and recesses. The male bracket is configured to mateably couple to the female bracket, including a sliding bar and an enlarged bar end. First movement of the goggle strap in the strap tension direction may move at least one of the bar bumps of the enlarged bar end past at least one of the projections to position the at least one of the bar bumps within at least one of the recesses.

Abstract: A helmet with an automatic vent that is normally open and responds to external air pressure to close. The vent is pivotally mounted to the body of the helmet to move between a closed position, wherein the vent does not permit any flow of air into the cavity of the body, and an open position, wherein the vent allows the flow of air into the cavity of the body. A spring provides a biasing force that urges the vent into the open position. The biasing force provided by the spring is overcome by air pressure on the vent when the helmet is in motion so that the vent closes. The vent may be a windshield that closes when the user travels at a predetermined velocity and opens when the user is stationary, thereby avoiding the need for the user to manually open and close the vent.

Abstract: Embodiments herein are jacket systems with interchangeable elements that can form a jacket with configurable or swappable components. For instance, a customizable jacket that includes components of the jacket system includes a jacket body, a sleeve-receiver fastener, and a waist-receiver fastener. The jacket body is configured to fasten into a closed configuration and to unfasten into an open configuration. In the closed configuration, the jacket body defines an inner space interior to the jacket body. The sleeve-receiver fastener is integrated with the jacket body at a shoulder of the jacket body and is configured to attach a detachable sleeve, such that the detachable sleeve is toollessly detachable from the body. The waist-receiver fastener is integrated with the jacket body along a lower portion of the body, and the waist-receiver fastener is configured to attach a detachable waistband, such that the detachable waistband is toollessly detachable from the body.

Abstract: A hat and/or cap modification system for modifying existing headwear to be wearable by wearers having curly hair, voluminous hair or otherwise challenging hair for wearing hats and caps in their standard orientation. The system includes a ring, cap plate, a securing platform or band, and a semi-rigid head band for modifying caps, such as graduation caps, so that anyone can wear it regardless of hairstyle.

Abstract: A surgical helmet assembly (30) to be worn by a user during surgical operations. The surgical helmet assembly includes a frame assembly (40) having a helmet shell (42) to be worn over the user's head. A fan (44) is coupled to the helmet shell to circulate air around the helmet shell. A headband assembly (78) is coupled to the helmet shell to secure the surgical helmet assembly to the head of the user. The surgical helmet assembly further includes an adjustment assembly (100) to adjust a sagittal fit of the helmet shell and the headband assembly to the head of the user while keeping a center of mass of the frame assembly in close proximity to the head of the user. The surgical helmet assembly further includes another adjustment assembly (118) concentric to the first adjustment assembly to adjust a circumferential fit of the headband assembly to the head of the user.

Abstract: A unitary sleeved partial undershirt may be configured to be worn as an outer garment or beneath an outer garment. The partial undershirt may include tubular first and second sleeves of at least 12 inches in length, each having tubular construction that is void of any fastener. The first and second sleeves may be sized to conform to contours of arms of the wearer. The partial undershirt may additionally include a yoke including a front yoke portion, a back yoke portion, an undershirt neck edge defining an undershirt neck opening, and an undershirt torso opening edge defining an undershirt torso opening. The plurality of securement straps are connected to the nape pad and are configured to fasten to the rear portion of the helmet shell. Abstract: A hood for a hooded garment may include apertures in the hood to improve a sealing connection between headphone earpieces and the outer portion of the user's ears while using headphones while also maintaining the hood's ability to retain body heat when not using headphones. While using the hood with headphones, the apertures may improve the sealing connection between the headphone earpieces and the user's ears and, thus, improve the function of the headphones (e.g., sound translation or sound deadening). While using the hood without headphones, a portion of mesh fabric sewn into the hood over the apertures allows the hood to retain the user's body heat and thereby mitigate heat loss through the hood caused by the apertures.
