Patent number: 9959567Abstract: Example gesture based cross-channel commerce retail systems and methods are provided. Some of the example systems and methods permit a consumer to complete a Store Pick Up order, i.e., an order placed by the consumer via computer, mobile device, telephone, fax, mail-order, etc., by gesturing with a mobile device near a digital kiosk and optical sensor at a store pick up location. The mobile device and/or the digital kiosk may display media content to the consumer while the consumer completes the Store Pick Up order. In another example system, a digital kiosk is located in a public area such as an airport, shopping mall, train station, or stadium. The digital kiosk displays media content to the consumer, and the consumer may transfer to a mobile device such media by gesturing with the mobile device near the digital kiosk.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2012Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Assignee: SEARS BRANDS, LLCInventors: Vijan Bhaumik, Richard K. Patent number: 9892371Abstract: Information may be determined about one or more queues located within an event venue, the information including how many people are in the queue and an average rate at which the queue is moving forward. The queues may each be associated with commercial enterprises such as concession stands. If a particular queue suffers from a low queue population or a low queue movement rate, a queue broadcast may be transmitted using one or more local wireless transmitters which each have a wireless transmission zone that is at least partially within the event venue. The queue broadcast may include queue information and may include an advertisement or perk, such as a discount or special offer for the commercial enterprise associated with the queue, thus incentivizing eventgoers to go to less-crowded or less-popular queues.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2015Date of Patent: February 13, 2018Assignee: PROSPORTS TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventor: John Cronin

Patent number: 9870560Abstract: The invention concerns a payment arrangement in an online shopping. In the method a request for a transaction code containing at least predefined user-related identification information is received. The content of the request is compared to stored information and, in response to a positive outcome of the comparison, a transaction code is generated, stored and delivered to the requesting party. In the next phase an inserted transaction code is received for verification and it is compared to the generated transaction code stored. In response to a positive outcome of the comparison the payment information is confirmed to the requesting entity. The invention also relates to a network element, a system and a computer program product implementing the method.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2012Date of Patent: January 16, 2018Assignee: TELIA COMPANY ABInventor: Jarkko Tarnanen

Patent number: 9865022Abstract: Provided is a method for selecting one of a plurality of convergence paths that may be drilled by a bottom hole assembly (BHA) comprising identifying, by a computer system, a plurality of geometric convergence paths, wherein each of the geometric convergence paths provides a convergence solution from a defined bottom hole assembly (BHA) location to a target drilling path of a well plan. An offset distance is calculated for drilling by the BHA each of the geometric convergence paths connecting the BHA location to the target drilling path. A drill path curvature associated with drilling each of the geometric convergence paths by the BHA is determined by the computer system. A time required for drilling each of the geometric convergence paths by the BHA is determined by the computer system.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2016Date of Patent: January 9, 2018Assignee: Motive Drilling Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Todd Benson, John Burkhart, Teddy Chen

Patent number: 9852481Abstract: Methods and systems to minimize energy cost in response to time-varying energy prices are presented for a variety of different pricing scenarios. A cascaded model predictive control system is disclosed comprising an inner controller and an outer controller. The inner controller controls power use using a derivative of a temperature setpoint and the outer controller controls temperature via a power setpoint or power deferral. An optimization procedure is used to minimize a cost function within a time horizon subject to temperature constraints, equality constraints, and demand charge constraints. Equality constraints are formulated using system model information and system state information whereas demand charge constraints are formulated using system state information and pricing information. A masking procedure is used to invalidate demand charge constraints for inactive pricing periods including peak, partial-peak, off-peak, critical-peak, and real-time.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2013Date of Patent: December 26, 2017Assignee: Johnson Controls Technology CompanyInventors: Robert D. Patent number: 9811845Abstract: A system generates a plurality of price master data lookup procedures that are capable of being executed in parallel. The plurality of price master data lookup procedures is stored in a repository in an in-memory system. The in-memory system includes a parallel processor. The system accesses the repository of price master data lookup procedures, and retrieves price master data in parallel using the price master data lookup procedures. The system then calculates a price using the price master data retrieved from the price master database in the in-system memory.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2013Date of Patent: November 7, 2017Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Prajesh K, Baris Yalcin

Patent number: 9355377Abstract: Systems and method for deploying CO2 emission and financial cost optimized secured algorithms to cloud computing environments are disclosed. Algorithms are converted into a single state assignment representation that includes a combination of statements that represent sub operations of the algorithm. Runtime and power consumption cost values associated with executing the statements in the cloud are calibrated by executing the statements in a particular configuration of a cloud some number of time with multiple security protocols and then analyzing the results. CO2 emission and financial cost values are mapped to the calibrated runtime and power consumption cost values. The mapped CO2 emission and financial cost values and the calibrated runtime and power consumption cost values are used by a linear program to optimize a partitioning vector of indicators that define which security protocol will be used to execute each statement in the cloud when the algorithm is deployed.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2013Date of Patent: May 31, 2016Assignee: SAP SEInventor: Axel Schroepfer

Patent number: 9238771Abstract: A well clean-up fluid system than can be used to remove the filter cake in horizontal and multilateral sections of extended-reach and maximum-reservoir-contact wells for both open and cased hole completions. The fluid system contains one or more low pH chelating agents and a viscoelastic surfactant. The fluid is injected through a drill pipe and starts reacting with the filter cake after rigging down. This method of the well clean-up eliminates the use of coil tubing, enzymes and corrosion inhibitors. The efficiency of filter cake removal is enhanced because the well clean-up fluid system has the ability to divert through the highly damaged areas of well or formation in the horizontal section.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2014Date of Patent: January 19, 2016Assignees: King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, King Abdulaziz City for Science and TechnologyInventor: Mohamed Ahmed Mahmoud

Patent number: 9228424Abstract: The invention describes a method for treating near-wellbore zones involving the steps of injecting a magnesium metal with a catalyst into the desired area of the formation to be treated. Subsequently, combustive-oxidizing solution (COS) is injected into the zone of the formation to be treated. The COS initially reacts with the magnesium, which in turn initiates a vigorous oxidation reaction of the COS. The reaction gases and heat produced by the COS oxidation reaction are harnessed to enhance the productivity of the well by creating fractures in the treatment zone and by melting of paraffin and resin deposits in the treatment zone. As a final step, acid is injected into the formation to react with the formation thereby further enhancing the porosity of the fractures. In one embodiment, the COS uses ammonium nitrate as the oxidizer, and in another, urea or ethylene glycol may be added as a reaction fuel.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2011Date of Patent: January 5, 2016Assignee: RIVERBEND, S.A.Inventors: Victor Borisovich Zavolzhskiy, Vladimir Antonovich Burko, Albert Raisovich Idiytullin, Valery Ottovich Meyntser, Anatoly Ivanovich Platov, Yuri Georgeevich Serkin
