  • Patent number: 8620049
Abstract: An interventional roadmap method with optimization of the mask face is proposed. At least two empty images and at least two fill images are recorded in a mask phase A with a matrix-type array of pixels and stored. The empty and fill images are processed such that the gray values of each pixel of the x-ray images from mask phase A are arranged in ascending order. A mask image is computed from the processed empty and fill images such that the smallest gray values are averaged and from which the mask image will be formed. At least one current x-ray image is recorded and subtracted from the mask image to create roadmap images.

  • Patent number: 8615404
Abstract: A system that can enable establishment of a self-describing data network is provided. Generally, the innovation provides a mechanism by which self-describing data can be collected, validated and stored in such a way that permits each data element to be inherently self-describing. The manner in which the data is stored can be analogized to a ‘data chemistry’ whereby data is stored in the smallest meaningful bit (e.g., atom) coupled with descriptive metadata (e.g., tags). In a specific example, the data network maintains health-related data where each element includes a core data element wrapped with descriptive metadata. The descriptive metadata (e.g., tags) can be employed to interrelate the data elements for storage as well as to facilitate efficient traversal of the data network as a whole.

  • Patent number: 8600771
Abstract: Certain embodiments present a system for generating a medical teaching file message. An image identifier labels medical images based upon information pertaining to user interaction with the image. The system also provides an image search engine that scans and indexes images within a database based on a set of rules. The image search engine generates a subset of images from a larger group of medical images within a database based upon the rules. The system also includes a supporting data selection engine for accepting a free text search query from an interface. The supporting data selection engine scans medical databases based on the free text search query, and provides the supporting data search results via an interface. A teaching file message is generated either automatically or manually from the subset of images and the supporting data search results for transmission to a teaching file.

  • Patent number: 8532348
Abstract: A regional redefiner redefines a bounding area in sets of chromatographic/mass spectroscopic images. The redefiner defines and localizes peaks in the images which point to a common feature of interest. A redefined bounding area locates other peaks associated with the feature of interest. Peaks can be iteratively identified and extracted using constituent images or a composite image formed as a combination of a set of constituent images.

  • Patent number: 8468032
Abstract: A system and method is described for building a community of clients and radiologists. The method and system bring clients i.e. persons or organisations requiring the analysis of radiographic images, together with radiologists i.e. persons or organisations qualified to undertake analyses of radiographic images. The clients and radiologists register their respective requirements and services with the system, the system matching a suitable client to a suitable radiologist. The method and system use an algorithm to match client and radiologist(s) most effectively. A open feedback facility in which the client indicates his satisfaction with the radiologist (e.g. quality of report, timeliness, cost), and in which the radiologist also indicates his satisfaction with the client (e.g. image quality, quality of associated data, timely payment) is implemented so the quality of service and client of a teleradiology community evolves and high standards are achieved.
