The processing unit executes, when the reception unit receives a slide operation starting from a point in a region of the synthesized icon where the icons overlap, a function associated with the icon displayed at an end point of the slide operation, out of the functions respectively associated with the icons superposed in the region.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for editing geological elements using a touch-based interface for retrieving geological information of a survey area, thereby mapping and displaying geometric elements of points, lines, and areas. The apparatus for editing geological elements according to the present invention includes a geological symbol storage module configured to store point symbols, line symbols, and area symbols; a geographic information storage module; a geological element edit module configured, by a user's operation, to read geological information on a specific map from the geological information storage module, to read the symbols from the geological symbol storage module, to rotate the point symbols, to connect the line symbols to each other, to automatically transform the line symbols to area symbols, and to automatically create outlines for the area symbols; a controller; and a display module.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media are configured to subscribe a subscriber to a content item appearing at a first position in a news feed of content items based on selection of a setting to subscribe to the content item. A pop up window including a response associated with the content item on a user interface displayed by a computing device associated with the subscriber is presented to the subscriber based on posting of the response. Scrolling of the news feed in response to user inputs is concurrently presented on the user interface while the pop up window is presented. At least one selectable setting to dismiss the pop up window from view on the user interface is provided. In response to dismissal, the content item assumes the first position in the news feed or assumes a second position in the news feed based on a re-ranking.

Abstract: A method for extensible chat rooms in a hosted chat environment includes providing multiple different chat rooms, each executing in a separate process address space of at least one computing device. Each of the chat rooms includes a textual transcript of chat postings and a video feed of a subject. A catalog of extensions available for provisioning in connection with the different ones of the chat rooms is displayed to different moderators of the different ones of the chat rooms. Thereafter, in response to a selection of one of the extensions by one of the moderators, the selected one of the extensions is provisioned for use in connection with processing a particular event in a corresponding one of the chat rooms. Specifically, the extension pre-processes the particular event as the particular event occurs in the chat room before permitting the chat room to process the particular event.

Abstract: Computing devices, computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions, methods, and systems for discovering, organizing, and presenting supplemental content are disclosed. A discovery system may be used to discover an item, such as a supplemental content presentation application, which, when launched may present supplemental content to a user while the user is consuming primary content. The supplemental content presentation application may also present a timeline that users may interact with to view different portions of the supplemental content. The timeline may also be modified by adding markers along the timeline so that when a marker is selected, a particular piece of supplemental content is presented.

Abstract: Image description specificity determination is provided by a method that obtains digital content to be presented on a device to a user. The digital content includes a digital image, of which a description is to be provided to the user, and text. The method further analyzes the digital content and ascertains a context under which the description of the digital image is to be provided to the user. The method determines, based at least in part on the context, a level of specificity for describing the digital image to the user. The method presents the digital content, including the digital image, to the user in accordance with the determined level of specificity for describing the digital image.

Abstract: A method of controlling an application instance using a graphical user interface. In response to the application instance providing a user input control for accepting a command from the user, a corresponding user input control for display in a thumbnail representation of the application instance is generated. When a thumbnail representation of the application instance is displayed, the generated user input control is displayed with the thumbnail representation of the application instance. In response to a user giving a command using the generated user input control, a corresponding command is given to the application instance.

Abstract: Data is received that characterizes infusions administered to a patient among each of a plurality of infusion channels. Thereafter, a plurality of infusion events and respective event times are identified based on the received data. A temporal view of the infusion events can then be displayed in a graphical user interface and/or the temporal view of the infusion events can form part of a report. The temporal view segregates each channel into a separate swim lane with each swim lane visualizing infusion events for the corresponding channel at the respective event times. Abstract: Systems and methods of visual mining of user behavior patterns are disclosed. A plurality of clickstreams may be received. Each clickstream may represent a corresponding sequence of user actions. A visual representation of each clickstream may be caused to be displayed on a device. Each visual representation may comprise a distinct graphical element for each user action of the corresponding clickstream, and each visual representation may be configured to indicate a frequency level of the corresponding clickstream. Each distinct graphical element may comprise a geometric shape and a corresponding color that distinctly represents the corresponding user action. Graphical elements of each visual representation may comprise a size that is proportional to the frequency level of the corresponding clickstream. An indication of a selection of one of the visual representations may be received, and additional information about the corresponding clickstream may be caused to be displayed on the device.

Abstract: A mechanism is provided for a time data capsule from an electronic conference. Operations include identifying meeting input sources related to the electronic conference, capturing respective data of the meeting input sources from a start through an end of the electronic conference, and maintaining and creating timestamps for the respective data that is captured. The timestamps are associated with the respective data. Operations include aligning the respective data along a timeline according to the timestamps associated with the respective data from the meeting input sources, converting the respective data into text equivalents and/or text descriptions with the timestamps retained, and identifying a trigger during the electronic conference that causes a timebox to be created with a beginning and an ending time. The operations include extracting the respective data for the timestamps that correspond to the timebox, and creating a package with the extracted respective data from the meeting input sources.

Abstract: A system provides a design interface for designing and implementing graphical user interfaces that users can access through web browsers. Depending on the configuration of the graphical user interfaces, the users may be able to monitor and control industrial processes by interacting with components that correspond to the industrial processes as displayed in user interfaces at client devices. The design interface includes functionality for selecting preprogrammed components, or for generating new components for display. The design interface further allows designers to associate data values received from a variety of sources with properties of the components in the user interfaces. In particular, properties associated with a component of an interface are stored in property tree structures, making dynamic changes to the components possible. Data bindings between subtrees representing components and sets of data from industrial and other sources allows for designs that scale with the availability of the data.

The method further includes creating, by the processing device, the free-form contour region on the display based at least in part on the input. The method further includes displaying, by the processing device, a second application on the display of the processing system within the free-form contour region while continuing to display the first application on a remaining portion of the display of the processing system that does not include the free-form contour region.
