  • Patent number: 11979815
Abstract: A method of detecting and disabling offending devices includes monitoring for a radio frequency signal. When an offending device initializes and registers with a cell tower, it emits the radio frequency signal. After the radio frequency signal is detected, a message including an identification of the radio frequency signal is transmitted to a receiver of a base station. Responsive to receiving the message, the base station sends a secure transaction that includes an indication of the radio frequency signal to a processor of a cellular carrier system. Responsive to receiving the secure transaction, the processor of the cellular carrier system correlates a time and the radio frequency signal with an account associated with the registration of the offending device, disconnects the offending device and/or disables an account associated with the offending device.

  • Patent number: 11917573
Abstract: In various embodiments, crowd sourcing techniques are provided to enable RTT-based positioning of UE. To address issues of discovering which beacons (e.g., Wi-Fi APs, cellular base stations, BLE transmitters, etc.) support measurement of RTT (e.g., according to IEEE 802.11mc, 3GPP Release 16, etc.), beacon RTT capabilities may be crowd-sourced from UE and maintained by a cloud-based location platform in a beacon database (or more specifically, a RTT database portion thereof). To address the issue of determining physical antenna positions, RTT measurements may be crowd-sourced from UE for those beacons that are RTT capable, and used by a trilateration algorithm (e.g., a WLS multilateration algorithm) to determine physical antenna positions, which also may be maintained in the beacon database. Accuracy of the trilateration may be enhanced by obtaining raw GNSS measurements (e.g., psuedoranges) from the UE, and performing a cloud-based RTK GNSS position fix for the UE.

  • Patent number: 11917517
Abstract: A communications network may include user equipment (UE) devices. When a first UE device becomes off-grid and has an emergency message, the first UE device may transmit device-to-device signals for receipt by a second UE device. The signals may include one or more preambles that precede the emergency message and that are used by the second UE device to perform synchronization with the first UE device. The second UE device may periodically activate a receiver during a series of windows to listen for the signals, may receive a preamble sequence during one of the windows, and may synchronize its timing to the first UE device for receipt of the emergency message based on the preamble sequence. This may allow the UE devices to be synchronized for transfer of the emergency message over long distances while consuming a minimal amount of power on the second UE device.

  • Patent number: 11910342
Abstract: Embodiments are provided herein for determining a synchronizing master for device-to-device (D2D) communication in a cellular network environment. In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) receives a discovery signal comprising a timing reference, and determines a transmitter of the discovery signal. In accordance with the determination of the transmitter of the discovery signal, the UE performs one of synchronizing to the timing reference in the discovery signal and transmitting a second discovery signal. The UE performs the synchronizing to the timing reference if the transmitter of the discovery is a cellular network. Alternatively, the UE transmits the second discovery signal upon determining that the transmitter of the discovery signal is a second UE that is out of coverage of a cellular network.

  • Patent number: 11871236
Abstract: A system dynamic discovery of MEC applications is disclosed here. A user device dynamically selects a communication network by comparing existing network selection parameters present in the user device as part of a profile with network selection parameters that are received from a communication network infrastructure when the user device with a profile enters the MEC enabled premises. The authentication server authenticates a secure connection with the user device, and uses one or more authentication protocols associated with the profile. The CMP generates an authorization token based on the profile, and accesses the MEC applications using the authorization token on behalf of the user device via a first interface. The second interface verifies the received authorization token. The CMP grants access to the user device to access the communication network and manages the MEC applications of the service provider on behalf of the user device.
