Patent number: 4705248Abstract: A device which may be conveniently utilized to collect oil drained from an engine crankcase includes a fluid impermeable plastic bag and a rigid drain stand. The drain stand is designed to hold the bag below the oil drain in a manner facilitating flow of oil into the bag while simultaneously preventing larger objects, such as the drain plug, from also falling into the bag. This drain stand is further preferably constructed of a single sheet of corrugated fiberboard material which may be shipped or sold in a flattened or collapsed configuration, and then unfolded and assembled with the bag by the end user. A unique locking mechanism is provided for joining portions of the corrugated fiberboard sheet without adhesives to form a strong, rigid structure. After the oil has been completely drained into the bag, the bag can be removed from the drain stand, sealed, and then disposed of in an ecologically sound and safe manner.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1986Date of Patent: November 10, 1987Inventor: Jonothon M. Patent number: 4705077Abstract: In a pulsation absorbing device which comprises inside its cylindrical pressure vessel, a cylindrical resilient diaphragm, an inner cylinder formed with a plurality of communicating holes on the outer surface thereof, and the resilient diaphragm and the inner cylinder are disposed being concentrical with the cylindrical pressure vessel, in addition, one or more resilient valve shoes of arched shape in its transverse cross section disposed along the outer surface of the inner cylinder and at the location corresponding to the communicating holes and is capable of being placed in a raised or lowered position, the improvement resides in that the resilient valve shoes are composed of a plurality of thin membranes laminated with each other, so that the valve shoes not only can be readily deformed elastically responsive to any possible pressure variation, but also can secure strength sufficient to withstand the fluid pressure when they are positioned to cover and close the aforesaid communicating holes.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1987Date of Patent: November 10, 1987Inventor: Nobuyuki Sugimura

Patent number: 4700755Abstract: A bag opening apparatus comprises a pair of pivotable pins mounted on a movable carriage. The carriage is mounted on the rod of the first piston and cylinder assembly so that is may move in and out of proximity with a stack of mesh bags to be opened and filled. The mesh bags are supported on one face only so that the opposed face may be opened by inserting the pins into the bag and moving the pins outward to engage the mesh faces. Only the face which is not suspended will be opened as the pins are drawn away on the movable carriage. A second piston and cylinder assembly includes a stop pumper which is located to control the extent that the carriage is retracted and to thereby control the extent of the bag opening.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1985Date of Patent: October 20, 1987Assignee: Filper CorporationInventor: Algis R. Patent number: 4696328Abstract: A bottle that can be used for preventing spillage when the bottle is tilted for positioning the bottle so that all of the liquid therein is received by an intended receptacle for the liquid. The bottle is made of a flexible material that may be squeezed to decrease the interior volume of the bottle, and has an elongated neck terminating in an opening that is wide enough to enable viscous liquid to pour freely therethrough from the bottle when the bottle is tilted. An airtight seal is secured to the perimeter of the neck and closes the opening for preventing liquid from being poured from the opening when the bottle is tilted; and the seal is rupturable upon pressure being exerted thereon by the contents of the bottle when the container is squeezed.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1986Date of Patent: September 29, 1987Inventor: Harold B. Rhodes, Jr.
